That's one of the things that concerned me tbh, especially as I can see red flags everywhere these days. I guess I'll stick with my work and the drama from my teenagers lol

Hi, I don't think you are part of the problem but its refreshing to hear a genuine voice suddenly understanding the situation. I think of it as it's more a lack of understanding from authorities. The fact that here in the UK it's still very much a taboo subject is madness and the legal records show only 5 out of every 100 men who seek custody for whatever reason are successful, the courts etc would rather put a child in care here than live with their father. The lack of planning in restaurants a…

If I'm honest, I'd not tell the fathers to pick themselves up. They need a hand up. I'm lucky in that I'm in my mid forties, and my kids are now nearly all teenagers, but I had no help. I'd hope there would be like a forum or group that men could join as fathers to share advice and concerns to get the information they need from people who have already been down those paths. Definitely, more support is needed but also a change in attitude from everyone about it being acceptable to be a single fat…

As a single father raising my children, I can confirm there is little to no assistance out there. Everything is geared towards mothers, and I'm often greeted with shock, then platitudes of how well I'm doing being a single dad. But never an offer of help , it's insulting when I can't get a straight answer to any questions I have as I'm just supposed to get on with things on my own. No one wants to give you information or point you in the right direction if you have concerns or need assistance wi…

I'm 6ft3 big guy, my ex was petite but ex police! This is important. She beat me so badly the police and hospital thought a hammer had been used on my face! I never raised a hand against her but tried to escape. Her excuse was I'm big and I intimidated her, she was let off with a warning and i was left in tears. This was 5 years ago and i still have a stammer from the head trauma and problems with one eye. All I did was buy her a house plant when we were struggling as I wanted to cheer her up, i…

Honestly even now a year on it still feels like I'm fighting. I think winning is the wrong way to look at it, its more like vindication that I told the truth throughout and it was eventually undeniable. I'm just relieved my children are now able to move forward. I just wish so many others didn't have to go through the same injustice and prejudices. It felt like the children were things to be bartered by the court. The worst part in my case was the mother admitted I'm court early on she had cause…

It's actually less than 11 percent of all men who go to family court for custody that get custody. At least here in the UK. I know as I went through 4 years of hell but ultimately did succeed. I was told on day 1 I had virtually no chance of winning even with all the evidence of neglect and abuse my children had suffered. I have my children safe and thriving but I have been declared bankrupt from the case such was the enormity of the costs outside of legal aid. The system here still operates on …

I'm not against women in any way, I've had some terrible experiences but I've also got some incredible female friends who got me through the storms. I think it more important to educate everyone male and female the red flags to look out for and how to be supportive and understanding regardless of situation.

As a male victim and sole parent now to my children who were also victims I'm appaled by this utter disdain for victims. It explains why my abuser was able get get away with 16 years of domestic abuse and violence and I'm left with no closure and trying to rebuild a life for myself and my children. I have said it before but will say it again, The system is corrupt and utterly broken!! God have mercy on us all as I fear this is just going to keep getting worse.

You are young so heed the words those of us who have experienced the worst. Remember the things we have said so you learn the warning signs ! Enjoy life but be educated by our pasts to give yourself a safe future. Not all women are like those we have described, I have many friends who are female and are nothing like those from my past and are horrified by my experiences. Don't judge all as a threat but be aware of any red flags. It's about educating and being safe. Date, have fun but remember th…

I've been a bachelor now going on 6 nearly 7 years as a result of my past problems. I dont intend to change that situation. I'm foing my best to raise my children and educate them in life. My journey is far from over as I'm even now still healing but I will get there one day. The system is broken its as simple as that. In the UK as of last year 70 percent of all domest abuse and violence was perpetrated by women. These are actually the figures produced by women's aid yet its not spoken about at …

In fairness to the response unit they wanted to arrest her. I had gone over a county line however to escape and be with family, the unit that went to her was from a different force and decided that tnete was insufficient evidence. I did combine and I would of sued but that takes a lot of money I just don't have. Otherwise I agree completely with you.

I was hospitalised due to my ex assaulting me, she caused such horrific head injuries the police thought I'd been hit with a hammer! I trued to press charges but she claimed self defense as I am tall and intimidated her. The cps didn't press charges and I was left with a defective eye and a stammer from the head trauma. Nice to be a male these days it really is.

My ex is still stalking me. I endured 15 years domestic abuse and escaped but now years later dhe us still making false accusations, trying to get credit in my name, if I get close to anyone she somehow finds out and threatens and stalls them until it ends which is why I have virtually no social media and I've been single for 6 years now. I'm even afraid to go out on my own so I have to have cameras and witnesses around incase she tries anything, I've trued to get her stopped bit I'm not taken s…
