And honestly, so what if your hobby doesn't make you interesting to someone? Treat it like a litmus test. Boring people will dismiss your hobbies outright if they don't like them, themselves. The real socializing at bars and clubs goes on outside where the smokers congregate. Edit to add: Buy a pack of your own smokes, keep in the car or whatever.
