The short answer is, there are serious flaws in data collection methodologies. In addition to what everyone else lists here, the means chosen for suicides have a strong impact in follow-on reporting. Person 1 takes a bunch of pills (that probably aren't lethal anyway), has second thoughts, calls an ambulance, gets recorded. Person 2 spends the weekend in the tub with a gun to their head, but backs out and goes to work monday. Nothing is recorded.

The problem is that it relies on that very selective framing to work. The argument could, with equal validity, be reframed as firing both men and women equally for having a same-sex relationship and now, magically, both sexes are treated the same. To be clear, I support LGBT protection, but I think this is a weak argument to achieve it and is uncomfortably close to judicial activism, which I dislike.

In a private arrangement like that, those forms of discrimination generally *are* allowed, same as men. At least, legally speaking. You won't see them very often, though, because of the social repercussions.

It's usually a matter of scale. Generally, while it's illegal for a commercial operation to do this, it's considered permissible for individuals. In other words, an apartment complex can't do it, but Granny renting out her basement, or Jeff and Sue looking for a third roommate can.

Sadly, they have a canned answer to that objection. They push the claim that, because media is male lead, by consuming mainstream media, they have insight into the male perspective. Personally, I find that argument unpersuasive, but I doubt setting yourself up for their prescripted response is going to be an effective tactic. It's a battle where they have a prepared position.

So, the issue is that (at least when I was in the US army), "Combat Zone" was basically anybody in country, from the admins in the middle of the VBC, to the guys out at Camp Mortar Shithole. So, sure, it's limited to people who actually deployed, but doesn't have much to do with divergent fitness test standards.

I learned pretty early on I had to be very careful who and how I approached regarding men's issues. I was shocked at how often it produced a visceral anger in people I considered otherwise quite rational. I mean, obviously I expected disagreement, debate, or dismissal, but the raw emotional reaction caught me off guard. At this point, I mostly keep it to myself among friends unless I've very carefully felt them out.

I'm pretty sure that's Merriam-Webster's response, not Google's. On account of the fact that's a snippet from Merriam-Webster. Those snippets show up for many searches and are generated by google's search algorithms, not by a person with opinions. If you have a problem with it, hit the feedback button, explain why it's offensive, and maybe a person will override the algorithm to replace it with a more neutral one. tl;dr: Google isn't doing anything, complain and they might.

I've never had a video delisted by youtube, but I've uploaded several that way on purpose, because I don't want them to be visible from my profile/channel page, or easily searched. I don't think there's anything inherently suspicious about it showing up on videos that the uploader expects to be controversial, if they aren't already outspoken.

They actually often will ask what the woman was wearing, in order to further the investigation, say, by reviewing security footage or questioning other witnesses. These things require knowing what the complainant looked like at the time of the event, and clothing is part of that.
