Why are we even a country at this point? The difference between Seattle and Charlotte is night and day. Yet both have to live with each other's decisions.

Not a lawyer but manslaughter has specific criteria to be met. The fact that she didn't straight up please guilty like the man did makes it harder for the prosecution to pin on her without substantial evidence of manslaughter. Negligence probably. Murder? Harder to pin. A confession is all they need. She didn't. He did. It would be dropped if there wasn't a way to pin it.

28 offenses is A LOT. And definitely meant a lot to why he was convicted. Plus his confession. In the court system that's basically a no brainer why he got so much time.
