Open your eyes further. This DivorceMen sub is moderated by women, or neutered men, too. It used to be a place for honest discussion about women's behavior and what lead to the divorce. Now, it's all a bunch of "oh poor me Im so sad and miss her..."

Exactly. You don't forgive someone who isn't asking for it. You can choose not to have that spiral into a hatred but don't forgive. Then you're just a patsy...

Exactly. If she was "looking to better his life" she would pay for those things. She's making demands for what she wants him to improve for her benefit. Realize the difference.

It seems this reddit group has shifted to majority of men blaming only themselves and "woe is me" the perfect woman left me because I wasnt good enough. Wake the F up. Mist divorces are initiated by women after theyve been cheating and can now take the guy to the cleaners. I'm suspecting posts like this one are written by a woman...

How old are you? I think it's normal and actually good to feel the way you do. And if the pets are dogs, you definitely wont feel alone with them in the house. And they wont turn on you and take half you sh*t! This "online therapist" thinks youre fine...

Yours is a great post. Captures so much of the absurdity of online "dating". It's a loser's game for men, IMO. The clarity you have on women's motivations, behavior can't be ignored. I'm older than you by 2 decades but for me, it's an in-person meet and greet or nothing. And I'm fine w nothing TBH.

You're right. Two adults need time to bond and youre not getting that. Let's cut to the chase: you're being used and it's not going to work out. Better to recognize that now. The End

Just bring your kids on the trip. Introduce them at the airport. No need to tell her beforehand. Oh and be sure to video it for your Reddit fan base.

Yeah but, just as in a marriage, it takes 2 to play by those rules and either one can F that up. My X, when my kids were little, would drop them off later than the scheduled time, she called the cops when I went to pick them up for a scheduled Christmas holiday one year because she "wanted" to bring them to visit her brother's family, etc. OP's question is what to do when she's not playing by those rules.

You don't "forgive" someone unless they ask for forgiveness. Otherwise, you're just a patsy. Not saying you shouldn't take the high road but don't forget and don't forgive unless you think you should be walked on.

Something similar happened to me. Wife cheated, got violent towards me and blew up the family unit. Two sons who were only 10 and 6 at the time. Now 20 years later, divorced for 19, younger son has major resentment towards me. Im certain the Mom twisted his perspective to hate me for whatever reasons she wanted to come up with to justify her actions. Not much we can do to fix it unfortunately. The "die is cast" to a large extent when the Mom puts her own wants ahead of her children's needs.

That happened to me. Sucks to see at first but I just thought of the lies in what she posted and thought "glad she's gone".

There's no way I will be "friendly" w my ex. Kids or no kids. Have some self respect if the x blew up the family.

Dude, wake up and stop being a patsy. She "put you" in the doghouse? And you willingly went to go sleep on your own couch. How about she went nuts and it's not your fault. So she can go sleep wherever. Get a spine. Your marriage is over but don't accept being treated like a leper. Send her packing.

Differences in income are just a measure, not the cause of the problem. The real issue is she is so focused on career, and the importance of advancing, that you are being left for dead. A woman doesn't have the "breadwinner" (support the family) motivation that most men do. So yes your marriage has problems that you'll see soon enough. But as others said, you won't be paying out the nose in a divorce so that's a plus...

If wife has expressed "she's done", and she's not gone yet, then she's just delaying because she doesn't have her next move lined up yet, or it fell through. Counseling won't work, just delaying the obvious.

True, but that's half the coin he's dealing with. Women "check out" because they have something (someone) else to go to. It's not a decision made in a vacuum. Sorry for the bad news OP but you'll come out stronger. Point being don't try and understand her actions because she isn't giving you the whole story.

If and when your dog passes, you'll still love him and he you. It will be very different from the divorce feelings and you'll carry that bond for as long as you want. Don't commingle the two.

A woman is binary because she already has someone else lined up. You just don't realize that. Many guys try too hard and too long to figure out why she's "changed": hormones?, I didn't help w the dishes last night?, on and on. While you were hardworking and loyal to the family and her, she wasn't. She was maximizing her value, at your expense. The sooner you realize that the quicker you'll heal.

I think it's fine to tell them after divorce is final. Just don't expect them to take your side after doing so. But yeah, if it'll result in some argument between her and family that'll ruin some Thanksgiving dinner years down the road that you won't ever hear about, that's just karma.

This, absolutely 100%. You can go down any rabbit hole you'd like but save yourself time and just end up here because this is what happened. And they "deserve to", you know, because their thoughts are to maximize their entitled self happiness, regardless of costs to others. That's a woman, you just didn't understand that until now. Hope you heal fast.

She's already seeing someone else. Everything you describe is just the result of her not telling you she's cheating. Force the issue and save time for your new post-D life.

The problem with your poll question is it reads "potential new partner.". She already has a new partner and it ain't the husband. Wake up already

Don't go to any event at her house. She just wants to lie to herself that everything is ok after what she did. F her and everyone in that house except your kids. I last saw my cheating ex at the wedding of our younger son a year ago. She says to me, after 20 years, "Well I guess things turned out okay". I said "F you for what you did.". Never forget.

I agree with this if possible to do, ie there's no cheating. You'll save yourself alot of battling over what amounts to nothing in 2 years.

I didn't mention that, I was explaining someone else's post. But to explain that one too, it's for "Manipulation" purposes. Women manipulate men's basic instincts. It's how the species has survived. They're generally weaker but have certain "skills" to compensate. Dude you're like a sheep walking into the lion's den: "What's that sharp claw for, what are these sharp teeth for?". I mean it's good you're asking those questions but get aware of how things work. Most of us here did, unfortunately, b…

The basic issue through all these threads is that men are being USED. You may not believe it, you may think you're the exception, but human nature, and the female gender, will not be changed. So you're bargaining for P*SSY time, your genes tell you you're to be the provider, your nature tells you want a nuclear family and you'll bust your ass to provide it. Women crave attention, look at Instagram if you want a reality check, and will do anything to advance their material position. They DESERVE …

It's been some years, my kids are adults now, but this rings a bell. My ex told our kids that she was going to take them to visit family 6 hours drive for Christmas vacation, play w cousins, blah, blah, blah, even though holiday was mine. Then I had to be bad guy to say "No", agreement says this. She called cops when I was at her house to pick them up. Imagine that great scene at Christmas time. She did this several times, basically setting something up for kids during my scheduled time without …

That "new house" thing is a big Red Flag and for me a red line. Yep, we're now divorced but at least it's simpler to settle a paid off house than a new one buried in debt.

My low point came when I was cleaning out her things and found the boxed wedding dress from 12 years earlier with all the memories, promises, etc. Left it out on driveway for donations pickup. Felt like a funeral for sure.
