I, like I'm sure many others, think both crimes deserve a life sentence. You start with murder and go "down". I start with "raping children deserves a life sentence" and move up to "so murder definitely does too". In the same vein, the punishment for a single murder shouldn't somehow get reduced just because mass murder exists. The damage she has done is corrigible? I'd highly recommend anyone interested in men's shelters to look up some interviews with Erin Pizzey. She once founded the first domestic violence shelter for women and got ostracized (read: threatened and banned from the shelter she founded) when she tried to do the same thing for men.
