Maybe ask a girl to be your fake girlfriend? Is that risky?

Yeah MGTOW doesn't mean using Instagram, Netflix and Reddit all the time. Maybe Reddit though.

So are you considering pretending to be interested in highbrow cultural activities?

I'm similar to you. I think I'd like being a father. I even have a strong urge to be a father to a daughter as well, and I'd look after her well. But you'd have to be blind not to see how corrupt the world is. I think that deep down the problem is humanity itself. There is evil coded in our DNA. If my child does not suffer, my grandchildren will and if not them the generation after that. The most humane thing to do is to prevent them from being born, let them indulge in the peace and tranquillit…

If you're just going to have a child and then not be there for the child, what's the point of having the child? I'd rather just keep it simple and not have children at all.

Having children definitely disadvantages you. Suppose you are frugal and live a minimalist life and you're able to save up and get say $1 million net worth by age 40. Then you can live off 40k per year and retire. You can travel the world and enjoy yourself. But if you have a child and a family, 40k a year is not going to be comfortable. You'd need to double that ie 80k per year because you have three mouths to feed rather than one which means you'll need to save up another million to get $2 mil…

With the amount of work it would take for me to pretend to be interested in the opera, I may as well just work and pay a brothel. I can see why prostitution is the oldest profession.

Yes but for many people making money is hard work, and once you have enough, it's just not worth it working hard anymore. This is why I hope to retire before forty. I plan to do this by never having children, which means my cost of living is low, which means I don't need to save up as much to retire.

Initiate force against peaceful people? Wouldn't a mass shooter tick the box?

Do you think society is stuffed or humans are stuffed? The latter implies that society will always be stuffed because there is something innately wrong with human beings, some problem within our DNA.

He may have other obligations outside his work as well eg obligations in the household. Financial freedom is about minimising or eliminating obligations. Freedom is the absence of obligation. So for example, if you have a child, you have a legal obligation to look after it, which reduces your freedom.

In my opinion, there is no intrinsic human worth. Everyone makes up some measure of human worth and then tries to advocate that in order to boost their self-esteem. For example, a rich person would love it if money is a measure of worth and so would signal wealth with status symbols etc. But someone who thinks family is important will want to show off his kids etc. A patriot boosts his self-esteem by feeling proud of his country even if he personally has done nothing. So yes money does not give …

Surely the cabin won't cost too much. If it is remote enough, you'd be able to save up enough to buy it. Then consider solar power.

The biggest cost for a car is depreciation, which is much worse for a new car.

Do you think that deep down humans are evil? I think so. The answer is to not have children and focus on shielding yourself from other humans by accumulating wealth.

That's why I won't have children. We are all flawed so let's not create any more flawed beings.

How are you moving to the outskirts? How much will you save before you go eg 300k? Will you live in a cottage in the country? Grow your own food?

I agree. Cars are a money pit so you should spend as little as possible eg drive an old one. Another option is to walk, ride a bike or take public transport.

Yes I agree with you. I'd rather have air conditioning, insulated buildings and so forth rather than live in the woods and freeze all night. Why anyone would want to live like a caveman is beyond me.

I have been coping by going to brothels. I live in Australia where prostitution is legal. However during the lock down the brothels are all shut down, so I suddenly feel crushing loneliness. I've just been masturbating to porn and browsing sex worker Twitter feeds to plan what I do when the lock downs are lifted. Once restrictions are lifted, I am thinking of travelling to Asia on a sabattical to get cheaper prostitutes. Maybe take a few months off work and go to Asia and have sex with women eve…

I don't necessarily believe in the idea that modern societies are in decline. Even if families are rarer and birth rate is in decline, this is what is happening in Japan, and Japan is hardly a place that is in decline. The world is overpopulated anyway so a decline in human population is only good for the world, and I'm glad to play a part in helping.

There is no point to getting married in a capitalist economy and start a family because you will only miss out on working and be loaded up with debt and obligations. Many men seem to be smart enough to know they should be careful and instead seek out financial independence.

The problem is that now with social media everyone has niche random interests and so you cannot get along with anyone unless you consciously conform. But if the price of intimacy is conformity then it's just not worth it. Better to walk the world alone.

In reality nothing matters. Nihilism is reality, but for most people accepting nihilism as reality is depressing.

Financially you can get most of the benefits from an SO with a roommate. Or just get a smaller place to live. Another option is to move further out from the city.

I live in a country where sex work is legal so I see a prostitute about once a month. I seek more than sex. I also crave a girlfriend experience with lots of intimacy, and I try to get that from prostitutes. I see one sex worker fairly consistently and have asked her to have a coffee with me, but she awkwardly rejected me. I think she wanted to reject me because of safety worries but at the same time she wanted to keep me on as a regular customer so it was difficult for her. As far as dating goe…

That's true. I think women do have it better. Single women often have strong support groups.

For sex there's masturbation, sex workers, and sex dolls. For cooking there is raw foodism and soylent. If you live in a small place eg a cabin out in the country or a microapartment in the city, there's pretty much no housework.

To give meaning and significance to our lives, we humans craft narratives and tell them to others and to ourselves. If we kept our stories to ourselves, it's as if these stories don't exist, as if we don't matter.

So basically women aren't necessarily sad cat ladies. With some alimony money coming in, they'd be very happy cat ladies.

So, I'm a guy in my early 30s. I'm just overwhelmed by the fact that the vast majority of single women in their 30s-40s have dramatically unrealistic expectations in a romantic partner. So many of them feel that they are entitled to marry a handsome doctor who makes six figures. Invariably, these women are all average at best and bring nothing unique to the relationship: they're not beautiful, not athletic and toned, not good cooks, not warm and compassionate, etc. On the other hand, handsome do…

I don't even think about masculinity and believe that gender roles are useless. Basically you're conforming to some set of rules about how men should behave vs women, and many people use these arbitrary rules to try to manipulate others into behaving a certain way. Just do what you want to do regardless of whether it is masculine or feminine.

I often hope for the end of civilization, but it's more due to the fact that when you look at human behavior, all you see is corruption, depravity, torture, slaughter, indifference, cruelty, pain, suffering, oppression, etc. One can rationalize and say that in this world there are bad people and there are good people, and bad people cause all this suffering and pain. However, thinking about it even more deeply, it becomes clear that there is an inherent evil in humanity, a natural desire to oppr…

Put your money into crypto and the government cannot touch it. When the tax revenue dries up, women will stop seeking money from government and will try to get it from a husband. This is when the payoff from MGTOW is huge. Your peers who marry will be living in poverty while you are rich from hodling rhe crypto.
