What actions can I take to fix this?I think something that will help is to not worry about the small things that happen (like your example, taking off your sunglasses when your friends do) and worry about the overall feeling of doing what you want. In Starcraft, there's micro and macro, where micro is controlling each unit individually to optimize the unit's value and then macro is your overall gameplay mechanics.
