3	Objectification of women in video games. What do you think? Is it a real problem, or are people just over sensitive about it? IMO the objectification of women in videogames is hyped compared with other objectifications of women. If that is an issue, then by the same standard, choosing more attractive actresses/news anchors is a much bigger issue because of how many more people consume those forms of entertainment. Of course, the news industry isn't really going to criticize itself, and actors/actresses being more attractive than most everyone else is just generally accepted. 12	Facebook friend posts Women's Rights comic, I try to have a conversation and it all goes to shit. Can someone advise me as to how this went downhill? Before it even started. In my personal experience debating or even discussing touchy issues is generally counterproductive because of cognitive dissonance. BUT, there is a method to rationally discussing an issue with someone that I have found. Instead of implicitly telling them they are wrong, share with them a similar but not the same issue and let the facts speak for themselves. [Edit: please before the downvotes, read the article] They are creating a hypothetical situation: If women are only willing to date men who make more than 26k, since about half of men make less than 26k, most men will not be able to get a girlfriend. This is obviously a very general claim, since women and men generally make different amounts. If we assumed that the median paycheck for women was exactly the same as for men, then yes, women would in general be dating men who make more money than they do. 5	Is it really O.K to try and convert women to feminism when the converter knows the convertee cannot leave? Go to /r/legaladvice for discussion of the law in relation to this. You could possibly get the local news involved. That way is generally much cheaper and faster than the court system. I don't know much about the culture of where you live, so I'm not sure about whether they'll help even in this obvious case of sexism. 1	Petition: Add a Men's Issues box when describing a petition. WH.gov is kind of a complaint box, because the White house is in control of the requisite signatures to get a response, which they have increased significantly over time, and secondly the response mostly not reported, thirdly is from an official, not the president himself, and finally, includes no follow ups, which allows the white house to interpret the question any way they want.
