Agreed, a woman who never offers to pay is an equally dangerous red flag for the man.

If we imagine two men, one who meticulously enforces a 50/50 division of expenses and one who offers to cover to over half of the expenses. I do believe the former is more likely to engage in the behavior op has described. From a woman's perspective, it is much safer to have children with the latter.

Every philosophy taken to the extreme is bad. The existence of a bad extreme version of a philosophy does not disregard the implementation of a more moderate version.

Equality has to consider the individual circumstances. It does not mean forcing everyone into the same box. Pregnancy prevents you from working and creates additional expenses. Obviously there should be a new discussion about the division of expenses.

Singles and dating events suck

You too
/r/PurplePillDebate22/04/26 02:55 AM

A couple of things to say to that. But let me get this out of the way first. You're not going to convince me that you're correct. You are speaking to a child of immigrants. My family came to the us with very little to their name and made a life here. If I asked every single person in my community if they felt like a slave, not a single one would say yes. It is an especially tough sell to try to equate our situation to a siberian farmer who prays to god that their harvest doesn't go bad and leave…

How many people have you met from rural china? Odds are that 50% of the Chinese people you have met are from hong kong which has a seperate set of laws. And precisely the reason that china was against the creation of hong kong was it would create a area of china that the government could not control. The other 50% are likely descendants of Chinese immigrants prior to the Mao revolution. In particular wwi immigrants. And the exact reason that Mao and his successors implemented these policies was …

You don't? Really? Let's put it this way. Despite your claim that immigrants are a slave class, how many choose to come to the US? Quite a few right? So, first of all, by definition, this is not slavery. Because they chose to work and they can choose to leave. If you can quit, its not slavery, its just a shitty job. But, if immigrants continue to choose to come to the US, then the work must not be that shitty. At least compared to the other work they have available. Of course, I am talking about…

Define making it work. Arab countries are extremely reliant on oil and have a slave underclass. China also has a slave underclass and a police state. And living in Russia just sucks and they also have a slave underclass (notice a trend).

This is probably the single biggest issue with the conservative movement. You realize all the values you parade around have change drastically over the past centuries? Even if we limit ourselves to only looking at western civilization, there have been wild changes even before the past 100 years.. This is the same issue with any of the "let's return to a better time" politcial movements. You'll notice that none of these movements actually name the time period that they're trying to emulate. Take …

Beyonce got cheated on. Even the most beautiful woman can get cheated on. And often with women who are significantly less attractive than them. Your claim about men being content is not based in reality.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/03/26 11:19 PM

Anything taken to the extreme is harmful. That doesn't mean the underlying ideaology or behavior is wrong.

Do you even have the time or money to date? Part of the reason that women like meeting men through hobbies is that it gives them a better idea how that guy naturally acts. Because a lot of men put up a front when they are interested in someone. In paticular, how much time and energy they are willing to commit to activities outside of work or school. No one wants to date someone who is married to their job or to school. And if you're struggling with money you're going to have a rough time for any…

For me, it's less of an issue of I can't and more of an issue of I don't want to. I don't need any more friends. I'm happy with my current friends. So, if I approach a women, it is with romantic intentions. Especially since most of my current friend group is already mostly women.

Because I was using myself as an example. Most men aren't all that picky. That's what my comment was trying to illustrate. Men are their own worst enemies here, and it's only within men's power to change that. If you all want to pretend to be eternally helpless then that's also a choice. Okay, that's my question. I am a man, so presumably you are saying that I have the power to change this. That I'm pretending to be helpless. So what can I do?

I'm not asking you for advice. I'm explaining why men interact with the apps in the way that. If can't understand the why you shouldn't talk about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/25 10:22 AM
3

What do you mean by incompatible? I just want a nice girl. I'm not picky. I'm willing to try and make thimgs work with most people. I do have a few dealbreakers but those usually aren't apparent from the profile anyway. I'd be happy with most matches as long as she is equally interested.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/25 10:15 AM
5

Then let me claify. Your comment blames men for the current state of dating apps. What I'm debating, is that you can't blame men for interacting with the apps in the one way that generates results. Does that clear things up?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/25 10:05 AM
3

But you realize that this isn't a choice right? We have use the apps like this because the alternative is to just not match with anyone.

I'm not trying to rebuke your points. I'm asking what you want individual men to do about the problem you talked about.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/25 09:54 AM

But what do you me to do about it? I've tried being selective, I don't get matches. Swiping right on everyone is the only way I get matches.

Really? I've seen more people spout nonsense about how sleeping too quickly ruins your ability to pair bond and other pseudo science like that. Well either way, both extremes are wrong.

It's a pretty common sentiment. Some men just want sex. Nothing you do will allow you to avoid them. Your only choice is to hold off on sex and to use the time to determine if they are genuine.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/25 06:21 PM
1

If the men your dating have an issue waiting before having sex, then you're dating the wrong kind of men.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/25 05:16 PM

And then your job is to determine if he is genuinely interested in a long term relationship with you.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/25 04:40 PM

You know you can wait on the sex right?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/25 04:34 PM

Not what I said. The goal is a relationship. But the dating stage happens with the understanding that it doesn't always develop that far.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/25 04:17 PM

Why pick? I don't think you understand what we mean when we say anyone will do. It means anyone will do to date. It doesn't mean we're gonna put the ring on any woman. We can always try to build a relationship. It doesn't mean it'll be successful.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/25 11:28 AM

Tbh, it just sounds like you picked bad men to be with.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/11/25 10:59 PM

And that's exactly what's causing so many issues in dating. Conventionally attractive men have a lot of options because they meet most women's preferences. Since they have so many options they have very little incentive to settle for one woman. Because of that they string woman along who think they have a chance at ending up in a ltr with these men who are just interested in sleeping with them. Meanwhile average men don't get anything. This is why the two most common complaints in dating for the…

I think woman are hottest at 30-35 so I have no idea what those guys are talking about. But yeah a lot of men are shallow too. But again your last couple sentences miss the point. You can do both. You can be genuinely attracted to someone by being less picky. Example, I think Scarlet Johannson is gorgeous. I would love to date her or someone who looks like her. Does that mean, I can't have a happy relationship with someone less attractive? Of course not. Am I going to spend my life waiting for a…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/25 07:32 PM

You realize that's incredibly shallow and short sighted right? Everyone gets uglier as they get older. You gotta look past that. And your last question is missing the point. We want woman to be less picky for looks, not more picky.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/25 07:17 PM

You indicated a desire to attempt to stop the current trend, no? And I didn't mean attempt as an individual, I meant attempt as a society.

The dtm is the demographic transition model. Feel free to google it if you want the details. And it's not nihilism, it's realism. If you are attempting something that has never been done before, you need to acknowledge that so you can try new and inventive solutions.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/24 06:42 AM
3

Well good luck. Because thus far no country has found a way to escape the dtm. So if things continue, we will joining Japan as a stage 5 country.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/24 06:38 AM
1

Futurist? The dtm is decades old. And, while it is related to technological advancements, is mostly concerned with the correlation with death and birth rates. else it's absolutely ridiculous to agree what's happening and take it as progress. You can take it as progress or you can call it something else. What you need to understand is that population trends are not a cultural issue, they are a sociological issue. Culture will always adapt to practical concerns. If this was a cultural issue, then …

Man you need to lay off the conspirary theories. This is just the natural trend described by the demographic transition model. We are a stage 4 county. One that has modernized and faces declining birth rates. This has happened to every country. So your theories are quaint but they ignore how this is a global phenomenon.

What is difficult to understand about self and platonic touch being different from romantic touch?

Have you actually read Aristotle? I've read Aristotle, and my guy is overrated as hell. Don't even get me started on "natural slaves."

But what is the choice is hole or nothing? Sure I'd rather be looked at as person. But if the alternative is nothing, I'll take being a hole. Still better than nothing.

First of all, never said I was entitled to anything. All I said was that I don't experience these things from woman and that makes me feel bad. And what do you mean by answer? Do you mean what I want from a female partner? At this point, someone who responds to my text messages would be nice.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/24 08:39 AM
3

They could be though. And that would be a lot less effort then talking to me. They could just go home. Let me ask you this. I think we can agree that this is not a very high bar of attraction. But if you've never experienced this base level of attraction, can you consider that it might be difficult to imagine yourself romantic relationship with a sex that has never demonstrated sexual interest in you?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/24 08:36 AM
3

But they choose not to fuck the fleshlight correct? Instead they took the time and effort to text me and try to seduce me. I find that level of desire validating and complimentary. Again, when compared with the alternative of nothing.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/24 08:30 AM
3

Well I can't speak for any of the men above. As for me, I would like some evidence of attraction from my partner. Whenever I've tried to date women, they never really seem to match my effort.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/24 08:27 AM
3

That...is the definition of sexual desire, isn't it? Wanting to have sex with someone's hole?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/24 08:24 AM

Hello, I'm a bi man so I'll give my two cents. is that validating to you? Yes. Or it's at least better than nothing. At the very least, I know that I am sexually desirable. If I know that, then I know that there's always a possibility of that sexual attraction turning into romantic attraction. My experience with woman just makes me feel worthless and unwanted. I'm not interested in hookups so I never took the men on their offers, but it was definitely more validating than the alternative. do you…

That's the point I'm trying to get at. You can't expect to just go to the gym and have men approach you, as the woman in the above video attempted. We need signals that our advances are welcome. If women want men to approach more, then they simply need to provide more signals of their interest in being approached.

The implication of your post isn't for you to decide, it's for the reader to decide. The author decides the intent of the work, the reader is one who interprets the work. I explained to you the reasons that I and others interpreted your post as disregarding the humanity of trans people. You have not explained why the evidence I provided was a misreading or misunderstanding on my part. Therefore, my interpretation remains valid. This may not have been your intention, but it was one interpretation…
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/23 03:35 AM

I made no such claim anywhere in my post. You did not explicitly make that claim, but it was the implication of your post. You listed your perceived similarities of the two and your confusion as to what differentiates the two. Therefore, your post implies that the humanity of a trans person is not relevant to this discussion. But that doesn't mean your implication was intentional or malicious. Perhaps you simply failed to consider that some people value the emotional connection that comes with m…

Thanks! But that's okay. After some suggestions from my family I've begun saving up for some plastic surgery procedures. I've decided to step away from dating until I get those procedures done.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/23 08:44 AM

And in my experience, women usually want me to go away. Therefore, I do not approach, either romantically or for small talk.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/23 08:37 AM

Is that distinction relevant? I've been told that making small talk with women at the gym also makes them uncomfortable, not just hitting on them. And I get it. I hate small talk to.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/23 08:23 AM
26

Yeah, but the issue is that we have no idea which type of woman we're approaching. Do you want to be approached, do you want to be left alone, I dunno. So we take the safe route and just don't approach anyone. And besides, even if I assume that this is a woman who wants to be approached, there is no guarantee that she wants to be approached by me.

Inglorious bastards. Should speak for itself, female lead burns down a theater of nazis. Other female lead is a spy who only gets screwed by bsd luck and the recklessness of some of the male characters. Violent Night. A parody film, but it features a rich and powerful female ceo. She starts off as pretty evil, but gets a redemption by the end. Same with her daughter who starts off as a ditz. The only character who is not a powerful villian or doesn't get a redemption is the daughter's stupid tro…

A lot of people settle with what's avaliable before they go without. Isn't this agreeing with the anology? If you have a 100 suitors, even if you don't like any of them, you have the choice to settle for one of them. Or you have the choice to remain single. With 0 suitors the choice to remain single is made for you. So, like the anology says, its better to have choices even if you don't like any of them. Because you always have the choice to not pick any of them.

Then why do guys keep whining when they choose to keep the shitty options? Do they? Maybe we browse different communities, but I've never seen much of this. Sure, there's the occasional "my girlfriend is too fat" or something like that, but even in the rare cases when I've seen those posts, the poster is getting flamed in the comments by men and women alike. If we're talking about complaints the only common one I've seen is "my wife hasn't slept with me for 2 years, what do I do?"
