u/HornsOfApathy ...have you ever considered that this is the same rewriting of history that every divorced guy (and woman) does?? If you never even liked her, you'd have not married her. Just saying you might also have a pill to take. ...I did the same rewrite when I got divorced.

Why don't you start by taking your own advice? u/part_wolf, I did, which is why I'm here asking these bizarre questions. One of the top three is I want a girlfriend. However I have a "success barrier" (fear) that I'll end up marrying her, for any number of reasons, and get divorced in financially painful or catastrophic ways. I fear might get married (for many valid reasons) & then have a ~55% chance of losing half my assets (which I think I'll grow up over 10-40 years). Bluepilled part of you that is still thinking, but also the RP part of you knowing the risks. Detrimental to yourself in the long run; I advise to pick one or the other. I have this (quick, but odd exercise) that I usually step people through. Do it now: in 2 minutes or less, what are the top 2-4 things you want from life? Anything you want to add, remove, or combine?? For most people this is exactly what they want from life. If you got this, would you be happy? (very happy?!) Go get this!
