I am actually surprised because I've seen photos of men trying to replicate good images of women but just looking awkward because they haven't done it properly. This was mostly done properly and the Go Daddy one looks less weird while the others aren't much different. Whatever point they were trying to achieve completely missed the mark for me.

I don't really see her view as particularly contradictory to what they say in the book, just seems like a slightly different perspective. However I do doubt that she has any authority to make claims about anyone but herself. They are clear to state in the book that there is plenty of variation and they are just looking at averages. I wouldn't be surprised if some of their conclusions are incorrect but the statistics don't lie, they can just be misleading.

I heard a feminist say she came here trying to take us seriously but couldn't because of all the women behaving badly posts being up voted (not exactly the same issue but similar). Obviously not. All I'm saying is that they should be punished appropriately for the crime and false accusations of rape are a different crime to rape. Maybe they should deserve a sentence which happens to be the same because the damage of being falsely accused can be extreme. However the damage is mostly caused by others, just initiated by the accuser so I don't think it has a simple answer. Three years in this case sounds OK to me.

He wasn't making fun of feminists, he was actually saying some of the posts where they were banned were unsurprising. I had a quick glance at your comment history and the stuff you are saying here. It's good news that she is being punished. Raping someone is not the same crime as accusing someone of rape. I don't think it needs to deserve the same sentence, just an appropriate one for the crime. I'm not really qualified to say how long that is but this is a big step up on women getting let off.

I've been browsing TwoXChromosomes, I can see things have become pretty crazy because of it becoming a default sub. But overall it does seem pretty good. When I was searching for feminist subs I overlooked it thinking it wasn't really related so thanks for mentioning it. It might be pretty crazy now but it's still better than any others I found.

I certainly don't want to excuse the bad actions done by feminists and I do have a good understanding on how feminism is toxic and doing more harm than good. Your only hope is reasoning with her. You can't be aggressive, try to start from her perspective and move discussion slowly where you want it to go. People get defensive and will strongly resist suggestions when provided aggressively. Try to plant ideas that lead her to making her own decision not to keep it. You don't need to lie just be careful about slowly introducing likley difficulties and concerns, you could do that while hinting that things would be much better to have a child later on.

I think their point was supposed to be more along the lines of Blackstone's formulation: "It is better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer" In other words it's not that being falsely convicted is worse than being raped. Of course all issues aren't equally worthy of attention, but to claim that there aren't issues for men which are worthy of attention is retarded. Apparently the stats are here. There were slightly more arrests (percentage) with a male offender and female victim than vice versa. Although only 18% of intimate partner cases were with a female offender and male victim, about 80% the other way around. I would guess that it's because it's only the most extreme cases of male victims who report and even then it's up to the interpretation of the police when they get there. Basically the data is useless for measuring any sexism from police.

I agree, we shouldn't blame individuals for inaction, but we can blame the culture. I have also been thinking about this recently, especially after watching this and some other youtube clips about helping homeless people. I think it's important that we encourage people to do something to help whenever it's needed and for some good people to lead by example.

That's a fantastic documentary and I think it is very much sidebar worthy. A lot of people seem to believe that society is what causes people to behave differently to one another and it gets in the way of any sort of real equality. While the idea is common among feminists, I still see MRAs who believe it. I think it's very important for anyone who is advocating for equality, to have an informed understanding of the issue.

The theory in the PUA community has one really big thing going for it. It stands up to constant testing and can be used to get results. Evolutionary psychology is also something you can't just dismiss. I haven't seen any evidence to refute it and it makes a lot of sense. The only educated people who seem to be actively going against it, also seem to have an agenda to assume that men and women should act the same way.

The thing is that she is looking into the idea of women's swimwear, there isn't any reason aside from curiosity to address the way women view men. I would want to see the results of that but it's mostly irrelevant to the talk she is giving. Also the conclusions she stated from the studies were all quotes of the people who conducted them, her own views didn't expand on their conclusions. I don't see what's wrong with that.

I don't see how that's the same idea at all. If people use a particular part of the brain when looking at tools and they use the same part when looking at some other test object then it's a fairly safe conclusion that they are thinking of the object in a similar way. I would prefer to say that false rape allegations are 'a' real problem instead of 'the' real problem. Looking deeper into the website it appears that "Equality between men and women is a fundamental principle". Yet there is no survey of violence against men, even though violence against men is known to be more frequent. But that isn't going to stop them from using "women survey results to populate one area of its Gender Equality Index". You can look at average men and women but the truth is that there are small men and big women. If they want to teach methods of dealing with physically larger attackers they should market it as such, as a university they should not make it a course for women only. Telling them they are against equality isn't going to get anywhere because they know they believe in equality. The problem is that their views on how to achieve equality are misguided and often have the opposite effect. That is why we need to show them the truth so that they properly understand what can be done to actually improve equality.
