| 2 | New study finds men are leaving the workforce en masse, why work hard if you are not entitled to a wife nor children? This already happened in Japan by men turning into Hikkikomori and japanese economy is in the brink of collapse, men have left the plantation since there's nothing left for themSo, to answer your last point first. I wasn’t necessarily looking for a statistic that showed higher numbers of never married women were normal, more pointing out the anomaly of the, as you put it, boomer years. The 100 year average is skewed because of the boomer years, and I doubt there’s data for the 100 years before that to be honest. By cherry picking the 1950s and 60s it’s presenting a skewed view. May as well pick the 1880s instead then. To your first point, I think you’re right. The 1950… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 26/02/23 08:36 PM |

Is using an anomaly year instead of an average. 31% of women never married in 1880. compared with 29% in 2011. The percentage change isn’t as big as he’s pretending it to be, there was just a much higher marriage rate in 1950. Could be to do with post WW2, could be because of religious reasons, could be because of the Cold War, could be a result of improved… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 26/02/23 10:06 AM |

Also, in 1880 there were more never married women than in 2011, which means the number of never married women in 1950 is actually the anomaly. Why compare to the 1950 figure and not the 1880 one? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 26/02/23 03:11 AM |

I can find a source for 90.2 per 1000 unmarried women marrying per year, but that’s not even remotely the same thing. The proportion of women married was highest in 1950 at approximately 65%. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 26/02/23 02:48 AM |
