They did not propose Secular Buddhism I question the efficacy of a philosphy that's constructed by secularizing a spiritual tradition Many altruistic individuals have meaning within their lives, but altruism does not itself provide meaning Contrived meaning is just that, a contrivance. Nihilistic Altruism is ultimately bereft of Divine Meaning; Divine Meaning was dislodged from modern mans inner world, and no amount of modern meaning can fill that void. "You know always in your heart that you ne…

Your entire post hinges on the idea that men lack meaning in their lives; why then have you chosen to exclude God, arguably the greatest source of meaning throughout human history, from possible solutions? Edit: also, what exactly do you think Buddhism even is? You say we should adopt something like it, but don't elaborate.

Also, why are women so inclined to screenshot and share text messages when a guy hits on her in the DMs? Because they like attention, and they like other people knowing that they've gotten attention. Most of the time these screenshots aren't even funny, it's just some dude shooting his shot. Like yeah, if you do some clown shit you're gonna get screenshotted, but most guys aren't doing clown shit.

I don't like them. I love art, I own numerous(too many really) art books, have many paintings hung, I've spent plenty of money collecting art prints, and I'd say I have a fairly eclectic taste; but I've never understood putting ink in your body because "I just love art". I think most people do it because it's still seen as cool, in twenty years I have a feeling kids will be seeing all the adults walking around with tats thinking "why would I want tattoos, all the old people have them"

They’re more likely to actually want commitment. I think you guys are ignoring that part on purpose. This isn't even true Even if it was true that doesn't negate the existence of young men who do want relationships If no young men wanted relationships then women would just be waiting anyways, and not only would they be waiting they would be waiting for AVERAGE men, because not every man can be "high value".
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/25 10:42 AM
7

So people should just wait until they're 30 then start dating? Is that what you're advocating for? The real question is “Has she progressed more than him?” So basically you're just saying men always need to be on the same level or better than their female counterpart. Also, like I said, men are fair less committal. Why women think theyre in a real relationship, guys are less likely to think so. A survey showed this. Getting strung along by some himbo is not the tragedy you think it is lol. If th…

I like how women just assume that they're default more mature, more capable, or better versed in the intricacies of a relationship. /r/PurplePillDebate18/07/25 08:34 AM

Emotions are not stupid, they're an integral part of the human condition. If you can ignore your emotions you are an aberration. You offering up one off instances of an emotion is not at all representative of what the emotional life of a human being is like. Am I supposed to ignore my depression? Am I supposed to ignore a panic attack? Am I supposed to ignore suicidal ideation? I've attempted to rationalize my way out of all of these, it doesn't work, it will never work. Emotions aren't rational…
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/25 08:01 AM

The psyche is not rational; just because you intellectually understand something to be true does not mean you can emotionally process it. If you can turn off your emotions you are an aberration. Most people cannot do that, and most people includes men. Choosing not to discuss, or to straight up ignore, your emotions does not mean they cease to exist.

Implicitly being rejected and explicitly being rejected are technically the same thing, but explicit rejection is widely considered more negative(by a large margin). You can argue against that if you want, but you'll not convince me this isnt how its viewed socially. With implicit rejection no one is making themselves vulnerable, no one is taking a risk; implicit rejection is assumed until the subject is broached, you will implicitly reject 99.9999999999999999999999999999% of the people you meet…

Let's be honest, no blue pillers or women here are changing the black/redpill mindset. If they're here out of pure altruism(which most of them are not, let's be honest) they're wasting their time. When you're stuck in a negative mindset, and especially if you're somewhat intelligent, you can endlessly dig yourself deeper into said mindset. Any counter someone offers you about how your situation isn't hopeless can be flipped and used as an example of why, in fact, your situation is worse than you…

More gaslighting, smh. Username still checks out.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/25 03:53 AM

This is not the place to be. This is the bottom end of the dating scene. If you're here out of concern for your children you must not think much or their prospects. I'm only here because I'm autistic and socially inept. Not in a gross sort of way(I shower and am polite) but I fail shit tests because I can't read subtexts super well, and even if I don't fail them I get rejected for my aberrant behaviour. All of my hobbies are incredibly nerdy, I have few friends, and the few I do have are not swi…

Yes 100%
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/25 03:33 AM

Yes, I've never understood why they bother. Why do you want to interact with people who are struggling if all you're gonna do is shit on them. Just seems like they take some sick joy out of lowering peoples self esteem.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/25 03:27 AM

I'm just gonna sidestep the whole "throw everything you've got at it" because, at least for me, even if I did throw 100% of myself at it(which is not a healthy thing to do) I would convince myself that i really hadn't thrown 100% of myself at it. Anyways, even when you get to the point that you capitulate people still gaslight you with "theres that special someone out there for you". The idea that you might end up alone is such a terrifying prospect for 99% of the population that hearing someone…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/25 03:23 AM

I agree, but even if you come to the realization that a relationship isn't something you'd actually want it's still difficult to stick to that conclusion when 1. You've never gotten a real shot at a relationship to learn for yourself. 2. People around you frequently ask about your relationship status, reminding you of your failure. 3. Our culture holds it up as one of the only paths to happiness, and perhaps the only path to a fulfilling life accessible to a common man. It's just not as easy to …

The red pill is a world view, it's an effort to rationalize human action. If anything it probably makes 90% of the men who encounter it feel less empowered than ever when it comes to dating, which I doubt translates to happiness. For a lot of men the redpill world view would prescribe changing everything about themselves. Changing things about yourself is not easy, it's even harder when the motivator for doing so is external rather than internal. If I otherwise wouldn't care about getting jacked…

Hmm, perhaps you weren't consistently gaslit by adults as a child about said topic.

Not explicitly, but the message was looks were a secondary consideration. Though it should be noted that I am autistic and take things more literally, especially so when I was younger.

I was consistently told growing up that men were shallow and only cared about looks, while women cared more about personality and character.

Yet countless women I know can identify bad behaviour from their spouse, complain about said behaviours to other people, and do nothing about it themselves. I stopped having sympathy for most women in bad relationships after the fifth or sixth time this occurred.

Because heterosexuals are generally on the same page in terms of the basics. Unless you're some freaky guy/girl who wants to pursue fetishistic sex you have no real reason to discuss likes/dislikes until it seems like a real possiblity.

Comparing it to something that is quite infrequent as well. Most women rule the roost; for the majority the worst they endure is their husband yelling at them sometimes(which they also do).

Lol you mad. Even if I grant that you're effectively communicating(which you're not), if this is a recurring/common issue does it not then speak to women's choices in men? They're choosing these men, then getting mad when they don't live up to their expectations. Choose better next time sweetie.

I hear this a lot, doubt it's true; even if it were true if anything it displays an inability to effectively communicate on the womans part.

A lot of womens choices are not sustainable when it comes to education. Anecdotal, but most of the people I know not using their degrees are women.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/25 08:50 PM

I think for a lot of men this subreddit is just a form of emotional self harm.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/25 08:28 PM

I don't think it's a social pressure issue necessarily. I think a lot of women like the idea of a man being vulnerable, but when they're exposed to it for the first time they suddenly realize they're not comfortable with it. A woman is exposed to a man's height everytime she interacts with one, were as she's rarely exposed to a man's vulnerability.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/25 08:26 PM
