You do though, even around the same age. And I agree, that's why women are attracted to men the same way men are attracted to women. Big age gaps between couples are rare.

The obsession of the patriarchy with the age of women clearly is projection. Women often don't care about ageing themselves but many men are scared to find out that wealth alone won't get them beautiful young women. They already know this deep down.

It's a society issue that simply boils down to women being told to please others and not care much about their own needs from an early age. Being a care giver is still - wrongly - seen as a feminine trait. Of course these gender roles get reflected in sex life too.
