I agree that it’s not meaningless, but they’re unlikely to ever admit that. I say just own the preference and let them think what they think.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/26 09:31 PM

I don’t get why some men feel as though they have to explain themselves or post studies to justify their N count preference. Who cares what other people think? Let them think you’re insecure or whatever.

“Caring about N count is stupid because a person could just lie!” Using this same logic, it would be stupid to have a dealbreaker about any past behavior that can’t be 100% verified. Why care if a partner cheated or not in the past? They could just lie about it. Why care if a partner had an STD in the past? They could just lie about it. Why care if someone used hard drugs in the past? They could just lie about it.

I’m saying that there are users who will defend women who refuse to date bi men, but then turn around and shame men who care about partner count. My point is that there is no reason to criticize one while condoning the other. Either both are acceptable or they aren’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/26 05:43 PM
1

I didn’t say that I was out to accomplish anything. But just as people can criticize people’s preferences if they decide to voice them, I’m free to call out hypocrisy.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/26 04:13 PM
1

You’re right. Announcing your preferences online makes you subject to being criticized, I get it. The point I’m making is to hold people to a consistent standard. You can’t mock one of these preferences and justify the other without being a hypocrite.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/26 03:57 PM
0

I’ve seen women write nasty things about bisexual men online before, but that’s neither here nor there. The things you’re bringing up aren’t relevant. It’s not about what men say online, it’s about the standard itself. People will call men insecure, misogynistic, etc. for caring about partner count but will defend women who won’t date bi men or men who’ve had sex with men in the past. A man can simply admit to having the preference without shaming anyone and will still be insulted for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/26 03:46 PM
0

That’s fair. I can respect people who feel the same way about both. I actually respect both preferences as well. But you have people who will defend one and mock the other. That’s inconsistent.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/26 03:29 PM

Funny how the same people who will criticize men for having standards about partner count will turn around and justify women not wanting to date bi men. There’s no argument for one being more valid than the other that doesn’t rely on special pleading

If criticizing a woman who refuses to date bi men is attempting to “shame” women into dating bi men, is criticizing men for having a body count preference attempting to shame them into dating promiscuous women? 🤔
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/26 05:14 PM

Umm no? I’m a straight man and my first gf was bisexual. I didn’t care because I’m still attracted to women, whether they’re straight or not. I never even thought to ask her for a threesome.

OP is spot on. There are certain male posters here (I can think of at least 2) who will troll, argue, and challenge male posters all day but never engage with anything that a female poster says in a negative way. And I’ve seen posts where female users will make negative generalizations or say other outlandish things about men and those same posters are nowhere to be found. But let a male user say anything even remotely critical of women and they’re right there, ready to argue. Let’s be real, if …

I agree with you, but I see this double standard all the time on social media. A woman can be unattractive, obese, be a single mother, etc. and consider herself a prize and it’s praised and even encouraged, but a man calling himself one is “sassy”.

That’s not what I said. I said that most cis, straight people in general aren’t going to want to date someone who’s not biologically the sex that they desire. And the statistics reflect that.

Does anyone else have low empathy? I can understand why someone may be sad for example, but seeing a sad or crying person doesn’t really make me feel any type of way.

I never commented on if those men are straight or not. It’s not my place to tell someone how to identify. But the point is, most straight men aren’t going to be interested in someone who is biologically male. And it’s not even a straight man thing. Most straight women aren’t dating trans men either.

I reject the idea that most men don’t date trans women because they’re afraid of limiting their dating pool with cis women. I think the reason why most cis men won’t date trans women is because most of us are straight and don’t want to date a biological male.

Maybe I’m old school but I like women who weren’t born with dicks.

I don’t see a problem with it either. No one asks for the inherent disadvantages that come from being ugly, and we know that being attractive comes with many benefits.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 01:52 PM

You do realize that both of those statements can be true at the same time, right? Attractive men can be rejected for casual, and some women can deem some men to not be attractive enough for casual. I don’t understand the point that you’re trying to make.

No it doesn’t. It has nothing to do with my point.

The position is outlined in my reply. If a woman has done hookups and ONS in the past, but tells you that she wouldn’t have hooked up with you, odds are that she doesn’t find you attractive enough to have commitment-free sex with.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/26 01:38 PM

Attractive men getting turned down for casual sex doesn’t disprove my point. If a woman has had hookups and ONS in the past, yet tells a guy “you’re not someone I’d hook up with”, a lot of guys are going to take that as being told that they aren’t hot enough for commitment-free sex.

That’s a total straw man of the position.

It’s an insult due to the implication that the man isn’t attractive enough for commitment-free sex.

It sounds like you don’t want to understand how men feel about this. Most men want to feel genuine desire in their relationships. They want to feel wanted sexually. If a woman has done hookups in the past, but tells a guy that he’s “husband material” instead of “hookup material”, it reads as “You’re not hot enough to have commitment-free sex with, but you’re stable and you’ll make sure the mortgage is paid so good enough”.

I don’t think “husband material” in of itself is an insult. It becomes an insult when it’s prefaced with something like “you’re not someone I’d hookup with”.

Men aren’t a monolith. I wouldn’t advise a woman to be with a guy who sees her as a safe option either.

I think women who are “alpha widowed” or place their partner on a lower tier of sexual desire as compared to past men should be open about it. At least give the guy a choice as to whether he wants to remain in a relationship after knowing that information.
