I'm glad that experience helped you. In my experience half measured avail us nothing. Either all is kind and understanding or nothing is kind and understanding. I am humble and secure enough in myself and my sobriety to accept that being called names isn't good, that I shouldn't accept name-calling from myself or from others. I have discovered this on the path to serenity, the path of humility as they say. I would wager that beneath what you call pathetic there was fear, loneliness, suffering. I…

I’m not sure what you mean, I’m not trying to argue or prove a point or discredit your experience and I apologize if I offended you. My higher power is understanding and empathetic, doesn’t belittle others or judge or call names. When I made my amends the person who I owed the most amends to was myself. It was a big step to stop calling myself names. I hope your next 24 hours are full of peace and freedom, brother.

Well I don't think you're pathetic and I'd never call you pathetic. I'm sorry you were talked to that way during your 5th step, that's a moment when someone should be able to experience freedom from judgement.

The cognitive dissonance is unreal. "Stop trying to be the best. You're pathetic. You're enough. You don't have to outrun the lion, just your neighbor. If you're unhappy jerk off to different porn. Go do something with your day." It's like listening to an abusive dad argue with the inner monologue of a child. The word you're looking for is humility.

It's ok. While she's in prison she'll develop a conscientious understanding of her mistake, spend time deeply reflecting on the internal factors which aided in the cause of her actions, and develop mature coping strategies for addressing such concerns in the future.

The father has likely been telling people for years that his ex is insane and dangerous but when psychological profiles come back negative people question his sanity. I know what it's like to have to carry an active recording device around my ex, it's not fun but it has to be done for my own protection. The fucked up part is that I can almost hear what the dialogue sounds like in the courtroom: Judge: "I'm recommending maximum 25 years for attempted manslaughter." Wife's Attorney: "Your honor, m…

This is a side effect of living to work, it has nothing to do with society. Life isn't (how much you can grab - how much other grab from you) / how many days you can spend jerking off in the wind before you die. Move out of your parents house and get a life.

Depending on the state, Claire could be entitled to fuck-all but some temporary maintenance until the divorce is finalized. A 5 year marriage isn't shit, she is still young, one 3-year old child isn't enough to justify her quitting her job, and it sounds like she's already completed college. Spousal maintenance and equitable distribution has come a long way since "the one with the vag gets a bunch of free shit." I'm willing to bet Mark saw the warning signs of this from months away but chose to …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
