Assuming the father stalked the mother around and knew exactly which hospital she took the baby to before she legally abandons it or gives it up for adoption. This, mind you, could happen in a completely different state. Furthermore, in some places and cases, it is not required by law to have a paternity test done against the mothers will. Feminist groups are currently fighting to keep it this way.

Too late. The baby has already been adopted away.

A woman can lie and put on the birth certificate that she doesn't know who the father is. Then she doesn't need the father's permission for anything.

The father doesn't sign medical paperwork? I'm sure that can count against him.

That is not what is being discussed.

Your first point is irrelevant to anything that has been said. Your second point misses the point entirely of the man's position when it's not a mutual decision.

Also, no you don't get a fucking choice in the abortion. You made your choice in the moments prior to and (briefly) during sex. Wow. I like how you buried that in there, sandwiched between "women should pay child support as well".

The statistics point to men abandoning children far more often than women. Are you including women who have abortions or put them up for adoption? See, when a woman "abandons" a child through adoption or abortion (an option men don't have), it's not being counted in your statistic.

Don't drive a car if you never ever want to have a car accident in it. The end. Your logic is sound.

Women get the choice to give their child up for adoption. Men don't.
/r/MensRights19/09/10 02:14 AM

So do men still have to pay child support when the woman gets remarried?

Sure. Rape in a relationship, particularly marriage (where it can reasonably be demonstrated a sexual relationship pre-exists) has historically been ignored by the courts. This is because, in the context of such a relationship, if you have had sex with someone before under amiable conditions, the idea of unwanted sex later on does seem like such a big deal. This reflects the human notion where doing something in a friendly manner first seems to make it more acceptable to do it later on in malice…

That argument would make sense if there were arm-punchists who jumped out of bushes or accosted people in dark allies and punched people in the arms out of malice and for no other gain. The analogy is nonsense and doesn't apply to physical violence, which is of a different nature.

it's not about whether you hurt them or not. the thing is, if you can just hit someone when you're having a good time, then it's not going to be that much of a leap in comfort-level to hit them when you're angry. that kind of logic kind of goes without saying, and it might be at least part of the reason why you don't see too many girls fawning over guys who punch them on the shoulder when they're flirting. whether it hurts or not.

Don't get with a girl that hits when she flirts. Ever. Especially ones that hit hard when they flirt. They are definitely abusers, and don't know how to keep their hands to themselves. Thankfully I had the foresight to make sure my now-wife didn't have those tendencies.

Maybe I've only been married about a year and half, so it's never escalated that far, but I've had some pretty serious fights and arguments with my wife, and she's never once tried to pull the D-card on me.

This article is trash and propaganda. We need more people like 7oby around here to set the record straight. Also, you know shit is up if the ACLU won't defend you. That should always be your red flag.

I already trust that fact, and not because your hypothetical source said it. It has already been established. Nice try though, I bet you thought you were clever. But again, no I would don't a news group that did that on the topic of unverified information. It's just sensationalistic, and shows how lowly the source thinks of its reader's intelligence. Furthermore, if you even bothered to check the source, and went to the front page, you would have seen this very reputable looking image taking up …

Read between the lines. ...would women even trust men to take it while the consequence of forgetting remains our bodies that get pregnant? ... Until they can, it's hard to imagine women handing that responsibility over to a man, who might forget to take his Pill or change his patch. Shudder.

Social Darwinism which, though it bares Darwin's name, has absolutely nothing to do with Darwin, and is only loosely, mistakenly based on his ideas of Natural Selection. Kind of like "Scientology" actually has nothing to do with science. You could say the same thing about memetics (see genetics). The reason the names are similar (in both cases) is because they instantly conjure up an analogous framework which is easier to understand given the context. Scientology is a terrible example, it doesn'…

The fact that an idea leads to moral corruption is not an indication of the veracity of its tenets. Its scientific underpinning is along the same lines as Darwinism and Memetics. Darwinism, for example, is true regardless of the fact that antelope get eaten by cheetahs. If antelope could reason or express themselves, they might use the same argument you just used against Social Darwinism. But again, it's not that Darwinism is false, it's just that the antelope wouldn't think it's a good moral fo…

I upvoted you even though I think Social Darwinism makes sense - it just shouldn't be used as an applied philosophy. Just like human death is also a reality, but that doesn't mean people should kill others.

Who cares what the source's political agenda is? That has nothing to do with the article itself. The website is nothing more than a middle-man, with source links to the original material.

The article itself said nothing of the sort. Maybe the hyperlink was a bit too subtle: You're engaging in the Strawman Fallacy. Read more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man
