I spell mxn with an “x” because “man” is usually gate-kept by cisgender (and usually heterosexual) people. Plus, I feel like the “x” (which I use for womxn as well) makes it all more inclusive. I’m not talking about love. Feelings can develop for people that aren’t necessarily “love”. There’s nothing inherently immature about developing feelings for someone at any age. My point here was that people can develop feelings for someone and it can hurt to be rejected. It isn’t just sexual attraction. Again, we should be fair. Mxn aren’t a monolith. I just don’t like the term, “friend zone”. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with someone admitting they like someone else and that someone else not reciprocating those feelings. I also don’t think it’s a problem if they want to continue being friends.
