Redpill long-distance relationship?I do think she's at least tried to demonstrate commitment. She moved all the way across the country to be with me for a year and she only applied to west-coast med schools so she could remain close to my graduate program. Unfortunately she didn't get into the UC schools :-P As far as chucking medical school goes...I like smart chicks. I'd like my future wife to be able to school our children in biology and calculus. I don't want to be with a girl who isn't educated and gainfully employed (prefer… | /r/TheRedPill | 18/04/13 10:15 PM
Redpill long-distance relationship? We're both second-generation American. My family is Czech/nonreligious and she is Iranian and a practicing Baha'i (so no drinking/drugs/gambling...not supposed to have premarital sex but we are anyway). I doubt there are statistics about this but I consider her religion and traditional values to be points in her favor. | /r/TheRedPill | 18/04/13 06:47 PM
Redpill long-distance relationship?Yeah I know, but the truth is pretty frustrating and sad in this case. My earlier comment in this thread reflected that :-P Again, I appreciate the fact that you guys are being truthful. | /r/TheRedPill | 18/04/13 05:27 PM
Redpill long-distance relationship?I appreciate the fact that you TRP guys are willing to tell the truth, even if it's sometimes bitter. That's why I come to this sub...not because I'm some kind of woman hater who "deserves" to lose a nice girl like this person says. | /r/TheRedPill | 18/04/13 05:21 PM
Redpill long-distance relationship?Yeah I know. In any other era...this wouldn't be on the plate and I'd probably have already married her and would make sure she was well taken care of. On the other hand I do appreciate the fact that she is very bright and has things to contribute to society outside of a family structure. Shit is tough. | /r/TheRedPill | 18/04/13 06:04 AM
Redpill long-distance relationship?I met this girl through an academic club on campus. Point taken, though...there are other cool chicks I can meet in the exact same way (out of school probably in a volunteer organization). I guess I'm still a sap and would rather make things work with her rather than find a new girl. | /r/TheRedPill | 18/04/13 05:39 AM
Redpill long-distance relationship?I completely support the redpill movement of other guys who think this way! The feminist movement has given dudes no other option. On the other hand, I actually would like a partner and a family, so I am a bit stuck in this regard. | /r/TheRedPill | 18/04/13 05:27 AM
Redpill long-distance relationship?I do know about hypergamy. I also know about young, virginal girls and their ability to pair-bond (and potentially beat divorce statistics). I can see why other guys spin plates but I'm not interested in doing that when I've met someone who meets all my needs. I don't see why being redpill means I have to be unfaithful to someone I care about. | /r/TheRedPill | 18/04/13 05:23 AM
| -1 | Redpill long-distance relationship?Thanks. Most of what I seem to be getting is fear-based "dump-her-before-she-has-the-chance-to-hurt-you" advice. This is getting pretty ridiculous. | /r/TheRedPill | 18/04/13 04:58 AM |
Redpill long-distance relationship?I appreciate your advice and I completely agree with you about physical boundaries. Definitely something I will bring up with her and be adamant about. This is actually something we haven't discussed before, so I will make sure to update you guys about it. I also really appreciate that you aren't so fatalistic about this relationship :-P I do think this girl is worth at least some effort...my SMV isn't going to die in 4 years time so I'm not losing much by trying. | /r/TheRedPill | 18/04/13 02:12 AM
Redpill long-distance relationship?Of course no woman is irreplaceable. Some women seem like they are worth more of an effort than others, however. | /r/TheRedPill | 18/04/13 02:01 AM
| -2 | Redpill long-distance relationship?I didn't make her choose between me and medical school. I was always supportive of the idea, but faced with the reality I am bummed that she will no longer be my domestic partner for a while. Also, where do you propose I meet these other awesome chicks that happen to be hot as well as smart, sweet, hardworking, and non-slutty? It doesn't seem to be a common combination of characteristics. | /r/TheRedPill | 18/04/13 01:54 AM |
Redpill long-distance relationship?Good god, no. Nuclear engineering, otherwise I'd be hauling ass out to WA for her to support my ass. | /r/TheRedPill | 18/04/13 01:40 AM
Redpill long-distance relationship? We've been exclusive the whole time we've been dating. I have no problem staying exclusive (like I said, I'm interested in a monogamous partnership/marriage in the long term) and she's never even been with another guy. | /r/TheRedPill | 18/04/13 12:46 AM
Redpill long-distance relationship?I live in central California and she got into school in Washington state, so it's too far for either of us to visit on a regular basis with our schedules. On the other hand, she has access to free/discount air travel because her dad works for a major airline. Regardless, there are going to be long stretches of time where we don't see each other. The current assumption is that we'd try and live together again wherever she does her residency. | /r/TheRedPill | 18/04/13 12:19 AM
