Just wondering, how is his life ruined? Assuming he's not super old, is there no way he could change course?

We're going to have to agree to disagree. The real truth is I honestly could care less what you believe. However, I don't go around calling the religious out because of their, in my opinion, idiotic beliefs regarding their place in the universe - something religious people seem all to fond of.

So only skygod believing people should live here in the states? I've been an atheist since I was born, I dont know why you're attacking the non-religious.

I enjoy video games as much in my thirties as I did when I was ten, it's one of my favorites modes of entertainment. I don't however allow it to dominate my life, and have plenty of outdoors and indoors hobbies. Anyone who tells you playing video games is a waste of time is a fucking moron - most of the time these are the same people who have no problem watching the god damn TV, but for some reason believe video games are just childish. As I said - fucking morons, their opinions don't matter. Ta…

Excellent photo. I always find looking up into the night sky is an excellent way of putting my life into context. Occasionally I take life a bit too seriously and end up getting mired in trivial bullshit related to society and life in general; it's nice to be able to put things into their proper perspective. I use this knowledge to keep me true to myself when society tries to break me down because I didn't morph myself into whatever shape society demands. To me this beautiful blackness is freedo…

"Jesus rejects" Exactly my thoughts. I'm firmly in the "live and let live" mindset, but I still avoid bible-thumping loonies whenever possible.

Jesus &*cking christ - where did he at ANY point imply he sanctioned genocide? Was Carl Sagan anti-human? I suppose he must have been according to your twisted ass view of reality.

What an awful mistake on his part. Unlike the texas whatever the *&ck dude who called everyone posting here a bunch of pussies for urging him on, I honestly could give a shit. What is bad though is he involved himself in something that clearly he had no business stepping into. I wouldn't care if they were all about to knife each other... just calmly walk away and carry on. But no, now he's in a world of hurt all for the momentary satisfaction of decking a hood rat. edit: spelling

At the end of the day the incubator should have the final say. I know the rebel in me would be *&*king furious if someone told me I had to keep an unwanted pregnancy. Considering I'm a guy this is all obviously theoretical. There should be consequences for not having the fathers consent however, like no potential for milking the man for child support. Since none of this will ever happen, it's really not even worth discussing. As for the population issue? Really... of all the issues we face, too …

There’s nothing sustainable about 10 billion humans. Sure, consumption plays a role, but why curb consumption down just to allow for billions upon billions to wreak havoc upon the rock we live on. In certain countries the population will fall, but if we continue on the BAU path, we won’t have to worry about dealing with high populations. Our track record shows a distinct lack of short term sacrifice for long term gains, I can’t imagine that changing.

I second this. Get one with enough space for your hobbies/interests, and a decent yard. I suppose if I were married a huge house might be nice; hiding in the opposite end would probably be the only way I'd maintain any semblance of sanity. Of course, I will never be in that situation.

As you say, we all different views due to our unique needs in life. I'm highly introverted, and not a day passes that I'm not thankful for being able to enjoy my time at home alone. I've never been married, no kids, and I have had dogs since I left the Navy. Even if, and that's a big if, I do end up getting into another relationship, I imagine it will be nearly impossible to enjoy living with someone else again. I'm not trapped here, I have a large family, some friends, places to go; the point i…

Not bad! Now it just needs to filter out the rest of the news, and it'll be a great app!

That asymmetrical face is atrocious, not to mention she looks downright demented. I generally don't judge people based on looks. I mean the one chick with the lopsided face in GOT is definitely bang-able. This chick just looks fugly though; maybe that's why she's so hateful? edit: spelling.

I'll admit it was a bit on the cringe side, but it's no worse than your comment.

As he responded below; the burden of proof is on those making the claims. There are no facts that I know of that could prove, or disprove the existence of a god, gods, or whatever. But the same can be said about anything that can be imagined. I personally see nothing of value in religious thinking, but that's just me.

The subreddits I visit are either on the fringe, like r/collapse, and r/Piracy, or gaming related stuff. Generally those types of places aren't overly sensitive like the majority of cuckland that comprises reddit.

Honestly I'm not sure this could have happened any other way. The same behavior that brought about our success as a species will probably bring on our eventual demise. We've understood the consequences of unfettered growth in population and consumption for a long time now. Yet we're still destroying the ecosystems and biodiversity of the planet that we evolved on. It's insane, we know it's insane (some of us do)... yet we won't stop. On an individual level some are capable of reason and logic; b…

I don't typically involve myself with politics because I don't generally give a shit to be honest. What makes you think adding additional infrastructure to a country with a massive amount of existing infrastructure that's either decrepit or decaying is a good idea? Stop hiring illegals. In the country illegally - put them in a box, ship them back fedex. A wall will be bypassed at some point, much like many past efforts to curtail this problem were bypassed. *&uk the wall, and &*uk trump. I'm a "…

That's great. I've been flying the flag for a long time now, and I've got lots of booty to show for it. And I still buy movies and games from steam, I just love hoarding digital crap - it's got to be a disease or something.

not a sacrifice after you've come about from 3.5 Billion years of your ancestors not being single seems like denial. What in the hell are you talking about? Our species doesn't go back a million years, much less 3.5 billion. No matter what decisions you make, sacrifices are made. In a relationship? Prepare to give up the one resources that cannot be replaced - your time. I've actually felt guilty (just a little) at times due to how much I enjoy being single. It feels like cheating somehow... lol…

Is this normal for women to feel like this? This is some twisted shit - validating her value through how much anguish is caused via her absence.

them grow? I'm not going to have kids without getting married like some animal. Having children as a married man makes you less of an animal than you would be otherwise? Last I checked we are animals. Why you think some fictional institution makes you anything other than legally married is beyond my ability to comprehend. I'm not saying it's not without its worth; but such hyperbole is not conducive to making a valid point.

I agree completely. Part of the reason I wouldn't have children even if I could find a NAWALT, I wouldn't want to subject a child to such a degraded planet. There's nothing wrong with non-existence.
