I also want to know. I’m a huge fan of the show and don’t remember this at all. I do want to watch it though.

I mean, if you watch the show it’s usually more than that. Usually there’s trauma, illness, grief, shame... they don’t have a habit of finding lame lazy dudes and cleaning them up. Usually they are good people that are struggling and doing very similar things like pouring so much into others they neglect themselves. That said, I don’t recall this episode in the slightest (where Dude says he didnt change diapers until 3rd kid) and am open to being wrong.

I suppose with that logic, I see what you're saying, but for me personally, that isn't a factor.

Yes, I'm female. Of course I'm not representative of the entire population, no one is :) I don't see where an honest conversation about the bill is boring - I see it as assertive and proactive and finding out what the expectations are regarding "who pays" - if someone asks me to a spendy restaurant, I may casually mention that it's kind of expensive, mostly to gauge whether or not he intends to take me out to dinner, or if he wants me to pay my own way. It really, really depends on the relations…

I say respond with "Yeah! I had a fun night." and just let it pitter off. If she keeps contacting you, perhaps something like, "I had fun that night, but that's not really what I'm looking for, I hope you understand" could work too.

While the rest of the comments here are awesome and you should listen to them, there are other options out there for braces that are not the metal bracket kind, like Invisalign which is a clear plastic mold that slips over your teeth. Keep in mind braces are temporary and your teeth will feel and look fantastic when you're done! I had them for 2.5 years so I feel you!

YES! Thank you. This is a refreshing stance to see. I always expect to pay my own way - if I don't, it's a pleasant (but unnecessary!) surprise. If a guy pays for everything all the time it starts to feel like he's trying to buy his way into my pants.

No! No no no! I offer to split because I think it's ridiculous that men are expected to pony-up the bill ALL THE TIME when on dates, whether it's the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 10th. It's definitely MUCH more of a "fiercely independent woman" thing than it is a "I don't want to date you" thing. That said, I have a rule about only insisting twice, and I tell the person that. I make it clear that I don't expect them to foot the whole bill and I'd feel better if we split it. If he absolutely insists, I let …

Yeah, that is typical of schizoid and schizotypal people. Social interaction is doable, just not interesting. Kind of like you could really go without it, but social rules obligate you to participate. Heh.

That sounds like an awful lot to deal with :( I'm sorry to hear that. My dad is a poster boy for Asperger's so that made growing up with an emotionally detached dad pretty hard. That sounds like a really difficult family life to have. Sometimes, issues like that can bleed over subconsciously into our daily lives without seeing how it's affecting us. I'm not sure what to tell you other than I empathize with you, and while I'm glad to hear you went to therapy, it might be worth another shot to dea…

You know, one of the few things that has helped me get over my crushing social anxiety is walking up to people and talking to them. When the eventual awkward silence sets in, settle into it. Take that moment to breathe, and if the conversation is dead, just politely excuse yourself for another drink or bathroom break. It was terrifying at first, and it still gets me nervous with sweaty hands and nervous giggling, but you can do it. I haven't read this book, but I've heard good things about "The …

Being in public is a no-go? Well, that seems to be a pretty big problem right there...sounds like you almost are dealing with agoraphobia and some social anxiety. Have you ever seen a counselor or a therapist to discuss that? Therapy worked wonders for me. I recommend it highly for everyone.

Totally. I'm mostly trying to point out the word choice / sentence structure that makes it seem condescending so you can re-articulate it a bit better without seeming like a douche. I aim to be helpful, not catty.

Well, enthusiasm is a good thing, and some women love the hung-like-a-donkey cocks, I'm just not one of them. I think my unsolicited advice to you would be to develop yourself and your interests more, volunteer, engage in the community and have hobbies you love - that busy, abundant life will draw people to you that don't give two shits about clothing or what kind of car you drive - they will be drawn to who you are. What a concept, right? :)

A kabillion times this! Print it out, read it, know it, post it on your fridge - I too read the condescending d*** into the last paragraph, not that you ARE, that's how your paragraph came off. It reeks of "I'm better and richer than you" - so your version of "telling it like it is" may not translate that well to people outside your own view.

This isn't true. It's not universal that women love money and huge cocks. I want any dating prospects to be financially responsible, but I could give a shit how much his paychecks are. Big cocks tend to hurt; anything over 6" sucker punches me in the cervix and let me tell you, that is NOT a pleasant feeling. It's not so black and white. Also, if a guy starts telling me about his car, he has just flat-lined the entire date until he shuts up and actually tries to have an intelligent, fun conversa…

I can speak German about as well as I can skeet shoot, which ranges from terrible to surprisingly good. I am skilled at climbing trees despite my usual clumsiness. I can cook and bake like a BOSS. I can screech like a monkey so realistically that I can make zoo trips unforgettably fun by messing with the apes and monkeys by screeching at them. I'm also tall, beautiful, and fucking hi-larious and charming. If you couldn't guess that already.
