What do you mean, trying to talk to her about 50/50 asset split ? In lieu of alimony???? This will sound stupid , but by law in Florida it’s 50/50 split AND 17 years of alimony for 23 year marriage . It’s both, right? I’m getting a better lawyer, jeez

Thanks, unfortunately she is trying to impress in south beach with 1700/ month BMW lease, etc etc. I let this go on wayyy to long, I can’t change the past but I will pay the piper for 7-8 years at 10 k a month due to the lifestyle I let her get way to comfortable with. And guys , I’m just talking this out to try to get the best exit strategy. I’m NOT going to be one of these bitter, salty broken men . I’m putting this in my rear view and I’m going to work hard enough to earn the alimony so I don…

Many thanks my brothers! Very very helpful advice from all you fine gentlemen! I’m going into bulldog mode and am going to knock this alimony down in duration and amount. She has $387,000 in the bank and $229,000 in retirement assets and I have $535,000 in retirement assets only. She is more liquid than me by a long shot. Their forensic accountant valued my business at $475,000 and they wanted me to put money on her side of the ledger!!! I know I have to pay the piper, $7000 per month at 17 year…

Ironically the second time around actually makes more sense for me. Sexy young girlfriend very serious wants to be married. She will never get old, she’s 24 I’m 58 you do the math. I’m going in eyes wide open with pre-nup . Still trudging thru divorce alimony is going to suck but I’ll be out of her jail soon.

She said she doesn’t work but she does, kind of, she runs her dads cleaning business which she has shied away from telling the mediator . The other thing she sold our apartment in Rio for like 200 k and never told me, if she sold it. Two big points a judge would like to hear. I don’t want to get over my skiis with these alimony payments . I was considering 2.5 years of alimony 10 k a month and to give her my retirement assets. We roughly have $600 k each she has a little more then me. Sale of ho…

Thanks everyone for your support. She is “sleeping on it” so it’s not too late. I went to give you wise gentleman as many facts as possible. Im self employed, chiropractor. I’ve owned the business as long as we have been married, 23 years. Typically it’s very difficult to sell or value a chiropractic practice because it’s all me in there. My STBXW is Brazilian and the first 15 years were basically good. We bought a forclosure in South Beach in 2011 for 350 k, the value has gone way up. We owe ba…

1 child, 16. These numbers are terrible, BUT not carved in stone YET. Married 23 years, she doesn’t work, she is Brazilian. My income varies , it could go down, I’m 58, I’m just a chiropractor. They said alimony is 17 years, is this a horrible deal? Yes I feel like my attorney is horrible. Child support $1500 a month till he turns 18. Trying to give all the facts.

Icy so I’m at the table live just waiting and found out she has 400 k in bank, 217 in retirement all I have is 450 k retirement. I’ve offered 7 k/month alimony . The mediator is on my side with my attorney cozy cozy. Main problem is back taxes I have to get them paid NOW they are about to sieze my practice

Guys I’m in the mediation I want this to be over. I offered 7 k a month for alimony, based on my average income 20 k a month. She is over the top crazy with her listed expenses her $1700 /month BMW payment wtf I’m just a chiropractor! My son is 16.5 years old, honestly when he is 18 I would love to just ghost her and her alimony as I am several states away she is in Florida. I feel like she won’t sign anything but a crazy good deal for her. Need last minute help my brothers

Thank you Ice man! She is Brazilian, I’m a Dr., she helped in the office 2001-2006 and then left when only child was born. Started to get entitled and culminated with her moving son to investment property in mismi to live. Biggest mistake of my life. Been sending her money for 8 years. Simp-sons episode.

Thanks a lot! Yea I’m NOT prepared but …Here I am getting great intel from your kind gentleman! I’m in Florida if that helps. Have one son, 16.5, goes to very pricey high school, 48 k. I just don’t want to get stuck with a horrendous alimony payment monthly. I make 20 k a month , roughly, she claims no work but runs her dads cleaning biz. STBXW is Brazilian. We have roughly the same 401 k, 400 k in there each which is my only asset, other then condo in Miami, which we bought in 2011 for $350,000…

Download bumble and tinder, set the age as low as you dare, give the 20 something's a whirl. There's cultural phenom going on right now in America , these girls are going for guys "our " age. Apparently the guys their age don't treat them well at all, don't pay for dates etc. Their loss is our gain. Women are women

Lots of cheerful insight in the thread lol. Might as well throw up the "life sucks and then you die". Srsly, try to get you a partner so you don't die alone. My mom is 80 and ended up at a nursing home this year, is super depressed about it. Her man, unfortunately , went off the deep end, she literally drove him to madness I think. Going to give mom a call rn and try to bring her cheer.

It's dicey, and after hearing all the horror stories on reddit, having her be "friends" with guys , going to be a soft no. It's a non-issue as she is not coming into the marriage with any "friends". X boyfriends that "we are just good friends now" eh, no. But it can't be a double standard, so I had to cut one of my friends loose

It's crazy how powerful the alcohol is in that your the last one to see how bad the problem is. I got a dui and had to go to a class, the lady said something to me like, " well at least you haven't gone down to the point where you lose your family. I got into a heap of trouble after that, in fact, all of my problems pretty much in life were alcohol related. You have to dust yourself off and get back in the game my friend. You can see that alcohol use like this takes you right into suicidal tende…

It only takes one, and that lady has to appear from somewhere. And believe me, it looked grim at times dealing with women how were terrible for my self-esteem. One girl I met went on a trip with me only to ditch me once we got to the beach, she went water skiing etc with other people and didn't come back to the hotel until midnight. I was almost ready to throw in the towel, and didn't spend any kind of time dealing with the apps, I just used bumble and tinder. Out of no where I get a match from …

That I didn't divorce her after her affair! I just wish Zi had know about Reddit and all the cheating stories and how to react. I was a Simp and even did the pick me dance. Eight years later I finally found these subs and initiated proceedings. My son, I didn't want him to go thru what I went thru as a divorced child, but damn if he isn't 16 and I hope he doesn't get damaged from this.

Fiancée wants pre/post nup, she's mid 20-s gorgeous and please, help me get this divorce over she was the spark and I shoulda divorced her years ago! No kids, she's light years ahead of the broken crows I see my friends with. Especially #2s. I'm super lucky there, just as unlucky with STBXW squatting and trying to hold on

Guys these sound like "throw in the towel" stuff. Try a bit to recalibrate and then trust/verify. Giving up/swearing off the opposite sex sounds, and is, a cop-out.

I'm in your shoes so to speak. Going thru divorce atm. Met a girl I feel really great about. We are aligned in our views on fidelity. We decided to ditch the apps and did so. In fact, when I came home and suggested it she agreed and we did it. My girlfriend is young and beautiful and she had literally thousand matches, I'm in 50's and have been thru the dating ringer. I went out with a divorcée in her 40's before her and had her do some games, not like your girl exactly though. It was with great…

My dude, the ladies desire guys more as they age, in fact the biggest sex survey ever, surveyed 100,000 people as to the age most attractive (google it) and women said that 50 was the sexiest/most attractive age. I don't know if you are in a urban or rural environment, but there are just tons of ladies that want to be with guys 50+. It's never been a better time because now many ladies 20-29 want to date us "old guys" . Go look in AGR age gap relationships here on Reddit to validate my point. Ea…

Listen to "tony's cheating stories "and other sources on youtube to understand how women cheat and how strong vs. weak men deal with cheating. I wish I had gotten a voice activated recorder, something to see phone activity so I could have nailed her cheating. Because they will NEVER admit to cheating on you. My STBXW had all the classic hallmarks, viciously hiding her phone, refusing intimacy, dressing very well, disappearing for weekends to go visit "friends". She still won't admit it to my son…

I spent 6 months in the fetal position after I knew if was "over". Then I went out to actively find a girlfriend, and dated a couple at the same time. I made it very clear I was not interested in anything serious in the beginning. It was much more fun than feeling soooo lonely. You can really feel terrible in the beginning but you don't have to go into a serious relationship. There's lots and lots of divorcees , single women out there. After being almost exclusively with white women I started da…

The creativity of redditors in the negative never ceases to amaze. All the guys who have been cheated on , and especially those who read reddit will say either she has someone or wants to . Fair enough. But instead of that, she may be calling you out for not being motivated to do better for your family. Maybe she's right?! That's a hard pill to swallow, so, get better NOW or lose your wife. I'm a guy.
