Instead of attributing toxic masculinity solely to men's behaviour, I tend to view it as a product of societal expectations and standards that are imposed upon men by society, harming everyone as a result. In essence, hegemonic masculinity, which is often but not always toxic, creates a narrow definition of what it means to be a man and excludes those who don't fit into that prescribed mould. False dichotomies like these examples always make me chuckle. Tribalistic thinking and avoiding nuance are unproductive at best and damaging to the paradigm of gender equality at worst. Modern feminism is about uplifting women, primarily. It's less about gender equality as that would necessitate pushing egalitarian policies for all genders
