Marital rape is rape, whether it's a man doing it to a woman or a woman doing it to a man. That law is fucked up. Marital rape means someone can be screaming no, crying, held down, and penetrated/forced to do other sexual acts/forced to penetrate against their will as much as the perpetrator wants, whenever the perpetrator wants, whether the victim, is sick, in pain, whatever. It's not just about having sex when you don't feel like it sometimes.

The police in India also have a reputation for not prosecuting real rape cases and blaming victims. There probably are plenty of false cases, but I wouldn't blindly trust the state either.

Then you're just letting her borrow your property. You don't need a legal contract, just get it in writing in a text or email that you're letting her borrow your jewelry and that it's yours. Make sure she agrees. Same rules apply if you let her borrow a shirt, or a car, or a laptop. If she refuses to give it back, you take her to court and the texts/emails will hold up. For the most part, jewelry is a bad investment.
