So. In 2004 the Australian Government introduced a "baby bonus". So you would get about 5k for having a kid. Although it was in 13 fortnightly payments. So I guess you could have saved it for a tv if you're a deadbeat parent. I do not belive Australia has a baby bonus anymore.
