| 5 | How did you manage relationships and assets after divorce?Assuming you live in a state that does not recognize Common Law marriage, then you don't have anything to worry about unless you get legally married. Which, to be honest, poses absolutely NO benefit to you and you should have that "no marriage" conversation with your partner when it starts to turn serious. It's better to have your stance clear and see that she respects it early on. Don't fall prey to any emotional manipulation or other BS arguments about it either. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/10/24 05:51 PM |
| 2 | How does 50-50 work?Start the 50/50 custody as soon as possible. Since you have your kids 50% of the time, it would be unreasonable to require you to work anything other than 40 hours/week. That's your reasoning for not including any other income on the dissomaster. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/06/24 02:38 PM |
| 5 | How does 50-50 work?Your attorney advised you to keep the two side hustle jobs? Quit them now on the basis that you cannot keep them up when also raising your kids. Plead with the judge that you cannot invent extra hours in a day and hope you get someone on the bench with some common sense. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/06/24 12:16 PM |
| 3 | Has anyone achieved greater career/financial success after divorcing?Definitely yes. My wife spent more than she made and even paying CS and SS, I'm actually spending less money on her than before. No more paying for her health/car insurance, credit card bills, vacations, etc. I can focus more at work and have been promoted twice in 3 years since the divorce. Overall it's been a net financial benefit for me, but she's struggling now that she's all on her own (well almost). | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/06/24 02:39 PM |
