You mention you’ve done therapy. How many couples sessions have you had? In your individual therapy have you uncovered anything that needs to be addressed or worked on that you’ve been able to confide in your wife about? And same for her?

I’m 42 and in the process of separating - possibly to be LAT but I do wonder when people split up why go looking for another relationship, especially if you have kids? Personally I’m very comfortable in my own company. Alone and lonely are two separate things.

To the OP - it sounds like you could benefit from therapy. It sounds like there’s definitely things you might want to work through. Get yourself past this so it’s a healthy interaction.

Whilst I think you have to question a person’s moral compass if they go with someone they know is married and cheating, ultimately it’s the spouse who is at fault. If someone had an affair with my wife - I’d be far more emotionally hurt by her decisions and actions than his (or hers).

I think if people cheat even once it’s over. How can you trust the cheating partner again? No matter how unhappy I’ve become in my marriage, cheating has never been a consideration.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
