He said that gun deaths aren't a problem worth fixing, so he wouldn't want us to feel bad for him or his surviving family

Taxes ain't uniquely burdening men over any other gender. They do uniquely burden the working and lower classes over other classes

On the side of legality, how would you possibly enforce such a law without massive violation of privacy?

The US, where I live, has an exceptionally high recidivism rate for all crimes because we focus so hard on punishment at the expense of rehabilitation or crime prevention (by which I mean actual social safety net programs). Global data is very clear. Places that focus on rehabilitation and improving people's circumstances have less crime and fewer repeat offenders

I don't think punitive justice is a good idea anyways

It's absolutely easier to control a partner who's financially dependent on you, which is why people who are prone to abusing partners may seek out relationships where they can exert that power. Obviously that's not the only way abusive relationships work, and obviously financial dependence doesn't make a relationship abusive on its own, but it is something that happens

Yes, that's what I said

Men performing femininity are also frowned upon, often more loudly than men or women performing masculinity. The bias is against people acting against their assigned gender, gender role, or gendered expectations

Men's clothes are usually sturdier and better constructed than women's clothes, so women's clothes wear out and have to be replaced sooner. It's true that many women also just enjoy having lots of clothes and going shopping. It's no different from me buying more books when I haven't finished the ones I have and then reading Dune again. Clothes shopping is also often a shared activity, something women do with their friends, making it more about the social interaction than the clothes themselves.

Dislike of discomfort, pain, inconvenience, and risk of death or permanent disability is called "being sensible" actually

I said it's medically significant. It's useful, important, even lifesaving information. I personally don't get why it would affect any interpersonal relationship like whether someone wants to act as a parent to a child, but that's just me. I don't get a lot of apparently normal social standards.

It's medically significant to know your genetic heritage, but that's it

It's a detriment to the institution of marriage that most people consider it an expression of love and attachment rather than the economic arrangement that it actually is. No one should marry because they love their partner. By all means, marry someone you love, but not because you love them. Marry because joining your assets, goals, and decision making powers is a sensible extension of a relationship based on mutual respect, trust, and growth. Or don't marry, if that's not a situation you want

The kid won't know the difference. They'll just know they don't see their dad anymore. Surely the child should be the first consideration.

What are you doing here if you don't think positive change is possible?

That's called financial abuse, and yes it's very common, and people of all genders can be both perpetrators and victims of this type of abuse

How does someone stating their own preferences affect you in any way?

I think both of those norms are stupid and the only way to change them is to refuse to play the game. By living your life by these rules, by focusing on romantic success, you (general you) are actually reducing your overall happiness and reinforcing these rules we all agree are shitty. You can't have it both ways, where you hate the way it is and participate in the way it is

In the United States, you don't have any paternal responsibilities (or rights) to a child by a woman you're not married to unless you sign paperwork about it. A father's name doesn't mean anything without a signature and an acknowledgement of paternity

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
