I have gone with this view for so, so many years. I'm trying hard, but my mental health is struggling these days. Fucking miserable, every day. I'm in therapy, I dont drink much, I work out a lot. Idk, man. Maybe I need to set a date limit or something. But I know what you mean.

Yeah... It's been years of abuse, I think, tbh. But my head's fucked - I find it hard to see the situation clearly. But, I guess there's no harm in me speaking to solicitors. Just to get an idea. Our finances are already seperate, so that's something. There's no danger of me telling her beforehand, if I ever did decide to pull the trigger. My sister tried to leave her realtionship for years. In the end, she got all her shit sorted, then left a letter on the kitchen table.

Two things you said made me cry inside a little - "If I want to sit in my underwear and play video games all Saturday that I don’t have my kids then shit on it, I am" and " I have the most fun with late 20s and early 30s ladies looking for a good time" Damn, lol So many men on here say the same as you - that kids manage. They get through it. And the life you're living now, sounds like bliss. Not just the pant wearing video gaming and younger women, but the freedom to be you. I miss that so much.…

Dude you sound like you were like me now. How did you manage to stop caring about making her mad? I've been trying for so long to not care, but I just cant. It's like a physical pain that's only resolved once she's not mad any more.

"I'll be chillling with my whiskey and cigar" - should be this sub's motto, give everyone something to look forward to.

Sounds similar to stuff my wife pulls in therapy. Starts crying, goes into full victim mode - almost becomes a different, unrecognisible person. It's weird to watch. She hasnt vomited though - that's a new one!

This. And the chances are if you aren't proactive you're going to find yourself on the wrong end of a police report. She will do everything to make sure she's the victim.

None of that justifies physical violence. Don't normalise it or think you deserve it for even a split second. Physical violence is NOT ACCEPTABLE in any circumstances, at all, ever, in any shape or form. Get out.

Seems like a friendship with this other woman? Op has been very clear on that. He wasn't trying to hide it. What, he's not allowed friendships with other women, and if he does it results in physical violence? Bullshit. Sorry OP, but your wife is nuts. GTFO before she does worse.

Yeah, I get that. Women's red flags can be subtle. I just listed some 'obivious' ones in a reponse to another comment I got. But yeah of those I listed could easily be looked over, if she's hot, as simply being a woman.

Well, just my experience, but: quick to anger, crazy eyes when angry, the angry sulk, blame other people for everything, acting v differently depending on who she's with, super defensive, cant take criticism - always interprets any comment on her behaviour or actions as a personal attack, but very happy to criticise others. That's just some I've thought of off the top of my head, YMMV

Men need serious education on red flags. I'll be hammering them into my son. But, he'll ignore them, like I did, when she flashes her tits and shakes her ass.

This. There's nothing wrong with enjoying relationships and companionship, but it doesnt need the ball and chain of marriage. It's called 'Ball and Chain' for a reason.

I think this is the case for millions of men and women across the world, unfortunately :( Myself included.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
