I did the reddit PPL for about 18 months. My first day at the gym I did 36kg 3x12 on a chest press machine. Towards the end I got to 3x5 of 90kg bench press then plateaued. Have now switched to wendler 5 3 1 and loving it and can recommend. It’s programmed really well so that each session feels different. For me, whilst I'm certainly retarded, I don't have an issue understanding the context of something and the underlying motivation for a question. I'm not 'autistic' in that sense.
