I mean hundreds of sexual partners through regular dating would be impossible to accomplish. But I would date a man who'd had dozens of sexual partners, because he can just get tested for STIs and it means he gave pleasure to and had fun with a lot of people, which I don't think is a bad thing. It's like saying "I played frisbee with dozens of people"--like, you gotta make sure that guy doesn't have some kind of frisbee compulsion, but if he doesn't, well, frisbee's a good thing! If he were to s…

The government can't forcibly impregnate women, because the government doesn't have a penis, but governments can and do make child marriage legal (it is in the U.S.) make marital rape legal, and prevent women from holding jobs through which they can support themselves without getting married. That said, I guess forcing boys to have their tubes tied is more parallel to forcing girls to give birth, which does happen happen in the U.S.; since both men and women can be raped, the hypothetical mass r…

Right, that would be similar in some ways and different in others. Would "A Modest Proposal" mean the same thing if it were written in Irish and proposed that Anglo landlords and lawmakers sell their babies to the Irish poor? Of course not, namely because what the Irish poor thought the Anglo upper-class should do with their children was completely irrelevant to the real world, other than, I guess, Anglos getting their hands on it and feeling hurt. It's a satire about the relative positions of p…

Agree, completely, but also if she doesn't KNOW you she's not going to like you. So, like, fancy dinners or gifts or "princess treatment" aren't going to make her like you--nothing is going to MAKE her like you--but going on a few dates with her and showing her what a person might potentially like about you is going to help her decide if she likes you or not. If she's only willing to get to know you over a $50 meal, maybe YOU don't like HER.

Man this is a SATIRICAL video. The point of the video is that women's reproductive autonomy and ability to have or not have children is constantly being legislated and re-legislated, and what if we talked about men's reproductive organs and reproductive autonomy that way? Like, the irony of saying "Has men's freedom gone too far?" is that, like, by what mechanism would forcing young men to get their tubes tied possibly occur? The people in charge of laws and government policy are overwhelmingly …

This is dumb. Most people date and get married because they want someone to hang out and have sex with. What else can you be guided with besides lust or "that spark?" Most people who can't find romance are those who are a) not fun for most people to hang out with, b) not sexually attractive to most people, or c) do not have much access to single people of the opposite sex (or not, if they're gay) wherein they can prove that they are fun to hang out with and sexually attractive. Being financially…

I have no idea. I'm a pretty nice-looking woman, and I haven't been on a date in at least a year. I imagine this depends first and foremost on how many women a guy is friends with, then charming and good-looking he is, then how much he chooses to ask out women and which women he chooses to ask out.

That's not a catastrophe, man. Nobody will die if Japan and Poland have 20% more immigrants in the year 2060. The Japanese and Polish will not perish from the earth. They'll just have to...see more immigrants? A catastrophe would be ecological collapse and mass death.

There's nothing to suggest that rich countries will face societal and economic collapse if they start having fewer babies. That's never happened. The opposite has happened, actually, in China etc. I'm not saying there will be no dampening effect on economies, though again this has never happened, but nobody's going to stop splitting atoms or whatever, and it's certainly not comparable to the dampening effect of farmland turning to desert, fish populations being decimated, etc. I don't see what p…

This is my pretty controversial take: We don't. The earth cannot support an infinite number of humans. Yes, it sucks that birthrate declines will make it hard to support the elderly, but this is really the ideal scenario: until very recently, the only stabilizing force on human populations, when they bumped up against limited resources, was starvation and death. We've made many scientific and technological advances--the cultivation of the potato and the Haber–Bosch process come to mind--that hav…

Every religion in the world says that killing is wrong, and that mercy, humility, and forgiveness are virtues. That's the logic for some. For others, it's the fact that wrongful convictions are pretty common, and they reason that though some people may deserve to die, a government that cannot reliably determine who those people are shouldn't have the power to kill them. What's your logic?

What blue pill advice? The "blue pill" is just people who aren't part of the niche online subculture TRP. The makers of Hollywood romcoms are blue pill, yes, but so are Mormon fundamentalists and lesbian separatists and the Amish and the president of the United States, and I can tell you they would all give you pretty different dating advice. I'm blue pill, but I don't think that self improvement and getting sexy and cool is like...bad advice. I think it's great advice. That said, I think TRP al…

I was also severely underweight at one point, and I can tell you that the gym cannot increase your biomass. The only thing that can increase your biomass is...biomass, from animals and plants, and a lot of it. If you're already underweight, exercise will actually make you smaller and LESS muscular, because your body just has access to even fewer calories. So it just kind of...eats itself. What worked for me was to drink more calorically dense beverages with meals (like juice) and increase my car…

I don't think there's anything morally wrong with hiring an (independent, non-coerced) escort. Seems perfectly neutral to me, and also categorically none of my business. I do think that men who believe that hiring an escort is of some benefit to some people are also obligated to treat escorts with respect, even though it's considered a "dirty job" by many, for the same reason that people who hire housecleaners and benefit from garbage collectors owe them respect, rather than more stigma.

We know why "Junk foods" like cookies and chips are pleasurable (they are very calorically dense and have lots of sugar and sodium) and we know why eating too many of those things is bad (eating too many calories, sugar, and sodium causes health problems). There is absolutely no evidence that the things that make a man pleasurable to date/sleep with--good looks, cool personality, good tongue coordination--make them a bad or unhealthy partner. I have never told someone say that men shouldn't argue with women, and I have only ever heard "never argue with a woman" from sexist men. It seems like you are hearing it from sexist women. Either way, it's wrong. That said--and I don't know if this is relevant to your situation--little girls are taught that it is very rude to shout, curse, glare, and scowl at people, while little boys tend to be given more leeway in terms of physical expressions of anger. Women thus tend to find it more rude wh…

Everybody has the right to complain. Men can complain about not having enough sex in relationships or hookups, women can complain about men complaining, and men can complain about women complaining about men complaining (as you are doing here.) I am personally offended by complaining that implies that I am naturally inferior to men, should obey men, and should be held to different standards than men. I am not offended by your complaint, but I do have a minor complaint about it. So. What is the c…

Nothing wrong with the term. I like how you draw the parallel between "dancing monkey" and "piece of meat." Sometimes you really do feel like you are degrading yourself by performing something stupid for someone way more powerful than yourself. That said, sometimes people say that certain useful and effective dating strategies are ALWAYS dancing monkey strategies, like, say, reading up on the interests of someone you like or being polite, friendly, and engaged or doing a hobby or whatever.

I don't think it's the ONLY way. Certainly some women settle for relationships with men they find less physically attractive, maybe even a large portion of women, but not MOST women. I would have hooked up with my long-term (now-ex) boyfriend in a heartbeat, if I wasn't afraid that doing so would make him not want to date me. The same is true of my bestie, who wanted to hook up with her husband but didn't for the same reason. Women are told over and over, from a very young age, that if you make …

How is it possible that you still aren't happy with the current dating app landscape? Didn't you basically create it? We didn't create it. Men created it. Most dating apps were created by men (bumble being the exception). And most women are not happy with these apps, as evidenced by the fact that fewer of us use them. In my opinion, dating apps, which were designed by and used mostly by men, are fundamentally less compatible with the (significantly less visual) way women/anyone with less testost…

I would have laid down my life for my partner when I was in a committed, loving, years-long relationship. I would also lay down my life for my parents or my sister. I think it's less about location as such and more about whether or not you are making a nuisance of yourself. In any context--romantic, professional, friendly--if your first impression on someone involves interrupting or preventing them from doing something they want to do, it is less likely to be successful. If I am at the gym and I'm listening to my audiobook and running on the elliptical, and someone (even a friend) tries to talk to me, that interaction is colored by my annoyance. However, if…

"And also she is ignoring the fact that every time a woman is in danger. And men are around. Men usually step up." This has never, once, happened to me. I have never been protected by a man. I have never seen this happen, nor have I ever heard of this happening, nor have I ever expected it to happen. If I am afraid for my safety, I usually look to see if there are women around, not men. Aside from abortion, there is no broad-based push to undo feminism’s core victories. Well, but many feminists, including myself, consider early term abortion access an important cornerstone of women's equality. In my mind, women and girls being forced to give birth, especially in cases of rape, severe damage to the health of the mother, and fetal inviability, is a violation of women's rights. Now, I recognize that some people have religious beliefs that involve not interfering with reproduction …

This is ahistorical. First, until very recently, the "female gender role" had a consistently large casualty rate due to the dangers of childbearing. Women risked their lives every time they had children. It was not physically safer than the "male gender role." Also, "being sexually selective of men" was never a traditional gender role. In societies where women are allowed less agency overall, they are also allowed less agency over their spouses. Additionally, in most pre-industrial societies, a …

That just isn't true. The pay gap is smallest for people under the age of 30, but it still exists--in men's favor--in the United States. https://www.forbes.com/advisor/business/average-salary-by-age/ https://www.eeoc.gov/federal-sector/reports/impact-age-gender-pay-gap-federal-sector

The first links are to the study you already linked, which explicitly says that in only a small number of places do women under 30 out-earn men. The only other linked article--the last link--is to an article entitled "Gender pay gap in U.S. has narrowed slightly over 2 decades," which doesn't say anything about the UK at all. Well, so your first source says that, in a very small number of places, young women are out-earning men. In the vast majority of places, young men out earn young women. They did not analyze the data by job position. (I don't think AOL.com is a reliable source of data) Besides that, I don't think unlimited parental leave is good or feasible either. But if your (or the op-ed in your OP's) argument is "men make more money because in heterosexual relationships women are the ones who CHOOSE to stay h…

I don't think they are. I think most articles about the pay gap cite the current data, which is publicly available and easy to find, and which shows that women are paid less for the same work in the same positions. Besides that, the opinion piece you linked talked about women taking more leave to raise children, and thus having less experience and being paid less. This is a perfect example of systemic sexism: when paternity leave is not offered or is insufficient, the female parent must be the o…

Nobody likes to be under somebody's thumb. Nobody likes to be treated as a subordinate, an object, or an idiot, or to have to work for free. Everybody likes to be respected and treated fairly and equally. That's the "agenda." You seem to have the very common attitude that you should have servants who you can make do what you want and who will obey you and work for free, which, wouldn't that be nice. But it is incompatible with other people's wishes and freedoms. Sorry.

No! Redpillers point to women being naturally hypergamous as the root cause of dating app woes. I think that the problem is that dating apps are constructed according to how men feel attraction (very visual and immediate) and are taught to view relationships (a girlfriend being seen as, on the whole, preferable to no girlfriend, regardless of personality). This results in men way outnumbering women on dating apps, which in turn results in the women who ARE on dating apps a) "owning the market"/h…

I am bisexual. I am attracted to most of my friends. I've confessed feelings and been rejected, painfully. I have a crush on one of them right now. This kind of thing is unavoidable if you are going to have friendships with the gender to whom you are attracted, which for me is everyone. That said, I would feel even more hurt and totally humiliated if my friend started treating me differently, hid their partner from me, didn't introduce us, or factored my feefees into their decision as to whether…

The blue pill is just kind of a jokey term for not believing in the red pill. Like, you know, if the red pill is "average women can't and don't love average guys, even if they marry them," I'll take the other pill. So, the moment I realized I was "blue pill" was when I realized the red pill was wrong. Which was pretty soon after I encountered it. Well, you know what all those women who are criticizing men are doing? Expressing THEIR emotions. Now, you might not think their emotions are nice or appropriate. They might not be. Because the very fact that someone is expressing emotions doesn't make those emotions, or the way they're expressed, above criticism or even conversation. Sure. But being a sex worker is already way more stigmatized than being a client of a sex worker. So much so that sex workers are denied the basic rights and protections granted to other workers, their jobs are incredibly dangerous, and they are often exploited and underpaid. /r/PurplePillDebate24/11/25 07:17 PM

No. There is always a chance one's child will be miserable. If I have a daughter, she is more likely to be raped or abused. If I have a son, he is more likely to become addicted, commit suicide, or be imprisoned. Or suffer mentally the way many of the men on this sub seem to be suffering. I will still love him or her. Well, but that wasn't my chosen example at all. My example was the argument, which I have seen, that the time (which is money) and money that women spend conforming to gender roles in order to appeal to their partner when dating (shaving, waxing, makeup, highlights, blowouts, manicures and pedicures) is roughly equivalent to the money men spend conforming to gender roles in order to appeal to their partner when dating (paying for the dates).

I shave my armpits and legs. That is a gender role I perform (men don't have to do it!) because otherwise my chances of finding a partner would be less good. Do I think that it's fair for men to expect me to do something just because of my gender? Of course not! Do I think it is hypocritical for men to prefer dating women with shaved legs and armpits AND YET still object to the draft? No. That would be silly.

Little girls are raised with the notion that it is very rude to try to "win" or "dominate" conversations or interactions, to be "bossy," to fail to "know their place," to smell bad, look "unkempt," make others feel awkward in conversation, and brag. Little boys are not taught these rules of etiquette as stringently--at least for themselves. This causes many men who consider themselves to be polite to actually come off as rude to women.

I feel like the logical conclusion of "it is bad when I think too many sexual thoughts about women" is usually arrived at by A) having empathy and a moral compass and B) overlooking power as a factor. There's this idea that the very notion of men being systemically favored in positions of authority is something that induces guilt in boys and men, but IMO the opposite is true. This is how I would explain it, if you want to know. Flirting itself (that is, subtly indicating interest in someone so as to maintain plausible deniability and avoid awkwardness if they aren't interested OR if they haven't decided whether they are interested yet and need more time) is one of those skills that can't really be mastered by following a series of instructions, like drawing a circle, aiming a gun, flipping a pancake, or getting children to respect you. But there ARE workarounds that …

In my early 20s, I felt exactly the same way about having friends. I’d become an alcoholic in late high school, which is a disorder that makes a person unreliable, unpleasant, and in my case, agoraphobic, so I lost all my friends and couldn’t make more. Movies, TV shows, social media, and regular conversations have it that women without friends are pathological; that there is something seriously and irreparably wrong with them; that they simply cannot and should not exist. I felt tortured by thi…

"Loser" is not an objective diagnosis. Different people find different things lame and uncool. Like many women, I find it lame and uncool when a person is constantly socializing with or dating people way younger than them, or is always the "big fish in a small pond" because that seems like arrested development. You might find it cool and not lame at all because to you it indicates having outcompeted other men. Fine. In fact, I bet we disagree about the lameness or coolness of at least one other …

The system is flawed, cops are all different and have varying levels of biases, some people can afford good lawyers and some can't, etc. Some people police departments consider important enough to expedite their rape kits, others are not considered important enough to even test theirs.

This is true. It's also true that men rape women all the time and lie about THAT, and nothing happens to them. I know several women who have been violently raped who did not report the crime because they couldn't afford the time, resources and legal defense to be believed. Usually the person with the more money, power, and influence gets away with it.

In high school and into my early 20s I had a bf who was better looking and more popular than me. He started liking me after I made a couple jokes that really tickled him. I agree the pop psychology saturation in our culture is dissolving common sense, logic, and social relationships. People love to diagnose each other with Bad Person Disorder (a scientific, permanent, and objective disease!). That said, this isn't just something women do. Nothing wrong with sexy women in movies or video games, or with men finding them sexy. Also nothing wrong with observing that men way outnumber women in positions of power in media (directors, producers, etc), so what men find sexy tends to be over represented in media, which is less fun for female audiences. Right. Bisexuality is great except for the homophobia. Bisexuals certainly don’t think their sexuality is a “handicap,” they just don’t like that people discriminate against them. And they do, even in liberal countries. Bisexual men are often subjected to the same stereotypes as gay men (oversexed, overly libidinous, having STDs, not masculine etc) by both (homophobic) straight men, who find them icky, and (homophobic) straight women, who also find them icky. Agree 👍 other people use “objectification” wrong too. OP is providing a completely false definition of objectification, so he’s definitely got it wrong. OP said “when a man feels a “sense of ownership” over his partner, he simply doesn’t want them to cheat on him. I’m saying, if that’s the case, why describe not wanting your partner to cheat as “ownership?”

The Blue Pill is just a jokey term for not being into TRP. Like, if we have to choose the red pill or the blue pill, and the red pill is “women don’t really love men below an 8 even if they marry them” well, I’ll take the other one. Because I think the red pill is incorrect.

Not what the word objectify means. Then why use the word “ownership” to describe not wanting your partner to cheat on you? I agree that obsessing over semantics is bad, but you can go too far in the other direction if you completely disregard what words mean. And IMO that’s what this post is doing.

He can definitely find someone educated, career ambitions, progressive and non-religious, tall, and non-traditional in terms of gender roles if he lives in a progressive enough area. TRP says that if a woman doesn’t have casual sex with you and instead wants to date you, she finds you less attractive. I don’t think that is true. Both men and women refrain from having casual sex really quickly in a relationship they want to become a long-term romance. Sex too soon can make things awkward and messy and way too high pressure and make the other person leave. Women are told that men won’t see them as “girlfriend material” if they put out right away. Consent is NECESSARY for ethical sex. You can't have ethical sex without consent. Is that what you mean by "paramount?" I think you may have misunderstood some terminology. "Objectification" means treating someone like an object. An object is a thing, not a person with feelings, intentions, and agency. An object is also a part of a sentence: if I say "John hugged Jeremy," John is the subject, because he is doing things, and Jeremy is the object, because he is the person to whom things are done. I am saying that, so far, the only people I have been attracted to and really enjoyed one-on-one time with have had all of those traits, and I do not go on dates with people who I do not enjoy going on dates with. My love…

My parents love each other pretty unconditionally. They have spent every day together for almost 40 years, and if my mom was disfigured in an accident, or my dad got dementia, their love might change but it would not dissolve or erode. But true, deep love like that takes time to build, and they would not--could not--have felt the way they do now immediately upon meeting each other, or after spending one or two or even five years together. Love is built when two people enjoy each other's company …

100% agree that women get just as upset about being friendzoned as men. They act mad and weird when you reject their advances just like men. And, yeah, sometimes they cannot bear to see or maintain a relationship with the person who rejected them. Men get just as upset about losing important friendships as women. They also act mad and weird if a female friend they don't want to date suddenly takes it upon herself to declare her feelings and then rejects their friendship altogether. "Emotional ab…

I don’t think male sexuality is demonized. I think female sexuality is demonized. There are a lot of men (and, I’ll just say, far fewer women) who think that having sex is okay or good for men but somehow taints women. They think that sex is empowering for men and degrading for women. Although many (most, where I live) people no longer think like this, this norm still dictates how comfortable men and women feel about their sexual desires and the sexual desires of others. Now, more men happen to …

Some women are thoughtless, hypocritical, and self-interested. They don’t want to be treated as inferior or denied rights, but they want free stuff. That’s why. Some men are too. They don’t want to be responsible for making all the money, but they want someone to cook, clean, and do the majority of childcare for them. 🤷‍♀️ People just kind of suck sometimes.

I don't care about "asking about my past" in a general way. But sometimes the implication of that question is that women should not have sex, or casual sex, or as much sex as men, and that it's more ok and even cool for men to have sex. This is a double standard. It's sexist. I take offense to the idea that some pleasurable experiences are fine for my partner to partake in but bad for me. I would also take offense if he asked how much cake I ate only if his question implied that men can eat as m…

I don’t think so! People who are really passionate about ballroom dancing for its own sake aren’t learning it at a weekly beginners class in adulthood. From my experience, a lot of the women who go to ceramics classes or whatever do so explicitly to meet people. I mean, in my experience, the men who vent about not being able to find any girl usually have only tried to find girls in the ways that men prefer but women do not, like on dating apps or asking out randoms on the street. There are fewer women on dating apps because women don't like dating apps as much. The women who are on dating apps get a lot of matches because there are fewer women on dating apps. I'm in AA. The guys I know in AA have more dates/casual sex than average because they're part of a large mixed-gender social group where they can actually meet people. I don't think it's about recreational drug use, I think it's about appearing regularly in mixed-gender social settings, most of which involve alcohol but some of which do not. And of not projecting "I am an uptight square," which takes some effort if you're not drinking/using drugs but which is very possible.

I would not do one. My parents don't know more about me or my preferences than I do, and having four extra people (two sets of parents) involved in the courtship process seems like a too many cooks situation. What other people do is none of my business.

A lot of the discussion of modern dating on this sub, it seems, is really about dating apps, which just don't appeal to as many women as a courtship medium (hence why there are far fewer women on them than men). Men's desire tends to be more immediate and visual, whereas most women's attraction requires not only seeing but also smelling, hearing, and interacting to "activate." Dating complete strangers with no connection to anyone in your life is, in fact, more dangerous if you are a heterosexua…

Men do swipe right on more women on dating apps than vice versa. Women have to vet partners more carefully than men because they are the sex that is easier to rape, murder, and beat the shit out of, so a higher percentage (though still a small minority) of men rape, murder, and beat the shit out of their female partners. This in no way implies that the majority of men are assholes on dating apps. No goalposts are being moved because those things are completely unrelated. This quote from an imagi…

Well, I think the point of life is to act morally and help others. And I think that the fact that the vast majority of people with political power are men means that women (as a group) do not have as much political power as men (as a group), just like the fact that most of the world's wealth is held by men means that women (as a group) do not have as much wealth as men (as a group). How does decentering women mean that you can't be their friends or vote in their interests? That's more of a lesbian separatist way of doing things ("boycotting" an entire gender) rather than how the "decenter men" crowd does it. I think I've decentered men, but that just means that they don't have special--or central--status in my life, not that they can't be in my life at all. I have male friends, and I help them out. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being sexually attractive or inducing sexual attraction. I think men’s and women’s clothing should be judged by the same standards. All these analogies are fun and cute and I like them, but, personally, I don’t think the problem with the fish analogy is that it’s offensive. I think it’s just bad advice. I work in academic publishing. I'm not anti-science. The legitimacy of evolutionary psychology is controversial in academia, but even scholars who think it has merit don't deny that it's speculative. The thing about evolutionary psychology is that it is speculative by nature--it's not really good evidence of anything, because it's impossible to prove. Better evidence is just...if you look at an environment in which men and women have regular social contact, like a high school, a college, a music subculture in a small city, or a large enough church. Great idea The thing about giving tax breaks to the coupled is that it would mean that single people would have to pay more taxes. Completely agree. It’s a mystery to me why people (men and women) advise men to seek relationships with random women they don’t know rather than getting to know them first. I think maybe some of the people who say this (mostly women, but some men) are confused about the difference between picking hobbies/befriending women because doing so is a good way to find love and PRETENDING to pick up a hobby/be friends with a woman that you actually do not enjoy. Because men and women are intellectually and morally equal, so treating women unequally is wrong. I mean, I also think that TRP is simply incorrect in assigning blame for the "80/20" phenomenon to women's innate biology instead of dating apps, that when men and women socialize in large groups IRL, like high school or college in the States, people wind up paired with appropriate matches in terms of looks, status etc, and "female hypergamy" isn't really a thing. A misperception, I think. Men generally having higher libidos makes women the “more desired gender” for sex, certainly, but not necessarily for all the things that women desire for ourselves: connection, love, and respect. Teenage sex is in itself a rule-breaking, risky, hedonistic, and boundary-pushing behavior, like teenage drinking and teenage smoking cigarettes and teenage staying-out-later-than-mom-and-dad-want. The girls who like to do the things Twin A likes to do are going to be the girls who have sex. The girls who care a lot about being responsible, doing everything right, and following rules will prefer Twin B, and they aren't going to be having teen sex. Because having teen sex is against most …

I find this post really interesting because I’ve had a similar experience to OP but in the opposite direction—the definition of the word “cheating” I was raised with meant having sex outside of a relationship, “an affair” was when you did that regularly, and other things, like texting your ex or going out to bars, were putting yourself AT RISK of cheating, rather than cheating itself. Being on the internet and seeing talk about “emotional affairs” and “porn is cheating” and “is he cheating on yo…

She would not, because she is, in fact, making a very pointed and didactic JOKE about natural selection regarding men not having sex. She isn’t making that same joke about men dying, so I do not think she would make that joke about women dying either. I do not think most women assume that women could not also run state departments. YOU might think that, but most women, I think, believe that the fact that state departments have more men than women in them is a combination of women being artificially barred from running state departments and women not wanting to.

Ok I genuinely think I worded this wrong. I’m not try to defend that commenter—I think it’s completely absurd to say a 41 year old shouldn’t be with a 29 year old. But I think it is unlikely that she was PRETENDING to have that weird and wrong opinion in order to gaslight men. Like, some women are genuinely wrong-headed about feminism, and have opinions—like “a 29 year old is a little baby compared to a 41 year old” or “trans women are bad and out to getcha” or “body-shaming men is fine because …

Or perhaps women say things that are weird and wrong not because they're deceiving you on purpose, but because they literally think things that are weird and wrong. Like, just literally being possessed of the impulse to go "Ick! That relationship seems yucky to me, so it is probably bad, and I am going to write a comment about it." Women (and men) have all sorts of crazy ideas. Most of the time they aren't like...lying about them for some goal.

I mean…I could make the same post: Men Do Not Like Sex (Not as Women Understand It). Men and women have different sex hormones and different plumbing. That doesn’t mean if you marry a woman she will never want to have sex with you and will cheat on you. She will just probably (not always!) have a lower, less visual libido than you, that shuts off if she’s under stress or recently had a baby, and her genitals will be more finicky to make cum. She will be more inclined to have sex less often but f…

Idk what you’re talking about. I’m talking about men who want their real girlfriends, in real life, to serve and obey them like a maid. Not in a pretend BDSM scene. That’s not what saying someone wants a “bang maid” refers to. The thing about dating apps, and still photographs in general, is that you can't really KNOW someone's personality based on how they look. "Kind-looking" isn't a thing. When I talk about not wanting to date an "alpha male," I mean I am not interested in being in a relationship with someone who behaves a certain way--plays power games rather than treating me as a friend and equal--rather than looks a certain way or has certain hobbies. With an attitude of realism, good sportsmanship, and humor. Like you said, fewer women are interested in casual sex than men. You can consider whatever you want to consider, man. But the term “reward” sort of implies that her love was given to you, by her or by God, as a result of your obedience to a just set of moral rules, rather than being a spontaneous, non-rule-governed reaction. You can do things to improve your chances of such a reaction occurring, and you can apply any word to any concept in the world, but “reward” doesn’t seem right to me.

Sure, everyone understands the concept of justice. But it’s a matter of opinion as to whether sex/romance is a just reward for doing nice things. At least 50% of people in the world (women*) do not share your opinion, even though they also get “friendzoned” in favor of hotter people all the time, and I would say a majority of men do not share this opinion either. *with some exceptions, of course, in the infinite diversity of human behavior

As a woman who dates other women: the best way to get a date is to ask out someone who ALREADY wants to date you. This is true of women you know and women you don’t—the most effective strategy is seduction first, then proposition. If seduction fails, you don’t move on to the next phase and hope it succeeds—it won’t—you have to move on to the next woman. Dating apps have it backwards: you have to ask someone out and THEN seduce them. This order of operations seems to agree more with men’s sexual/…

By status, do you mean money? The patriarchy never denied women status. Think Jane Austin: Noblewomen with high social connections, charisma, high-value skills (painting, playing piano) etc had high status, while men and women of lower birth, unmarried parents, fewer friends and connections, etc were of lower status. Just because women’s property rights were restricted doesn’t mean she didn’t have status. Also think high school (maybe even the movie Clueless, adapted from a Jane Austin novel abo…

Yep. One reason I hate dating apps is that you can’t SMELL the person you’re swiping on, and smell is a big part of how I experience lust. And the opposite is true too, ESPECIALLY regarding bad breath—if I smell it, it 100% kills my attraction (though temporarily). This also goes for women, who have bad breath only a little less often than men (I’m bisexual, and date both). Floss, people!

I am a progressive woman. I don’t think that people with disabilities and facial differences should be discriminated against under the law or in public life—that doesn’t mean I am equally likely to be sexually attracted to people with limb differences or Treacher-Collins. I don’t think that makes me a hypocrite. Everyone is sexually attracted to beauty and status.

“Are you truly doing it for yourself and other women, ignoring male approval entirely? Or are you affected by a male-created system that pressures you to attract men?” The second one. Duh. This isn’t a gotcha, it’s a very well-known and common feminist idea. The fact that, for women, being perceived as sexually attractive to men has advantages well beyond attracting men (like in one’s job, for instance) is a prime example of patriarchy. The fact that I am perceived as unprofessional at my job if…

Two things: first, a lot of women don’t expect their partners to buy them jewelry and bouquets of flowers, “lead” (I’d hate that), be emotionally inexpressive, etc. I don’t want those things, nor most of my friends and acquaintances. Maybe we live in different places with different cultural expectations (I’m on the east coast of the US), but where I live, there is no shortage of liberal women who aren’t too into gender roles. “Free market capitalism” refers to an economic system. If you talk about the “dating market,” you’re using a metaphor—sometimes a useful one—to describe something that is not, in fact, a system of economics. While the way romantic love is distributed in a population resembles capitalism in SOME ways—like that it is unequal and influenced by dynamics of supply and demand—they aren’t really equivalent. This metaphor is equally applicable to other chosen human relationships, by the way. The “friend…

I want to be a mom. If the kids are young enough to see me as their mother, and I can adopt them, I don't care whether they carry my genes--I'd be happy. If the kids are a little bit older, view me as more of a stepmom, and don't want to be adopted, that would be more of an impediment. In that case, a man having having full custody of his kids would be like him living far away, or having a disability that requires extra care, or being unable to earn money--things that, though no fault of his, wo…

Ayyyyy as a bisexual woman I think you're onto something. Because I've dated both men and women long-term, I am able to say to myself, "would I expect this of a female partner?" If the answer is no, I wouldn't expect it of a man. Straight women don't have that kind of reference point. Plus, we've also had to court women ourselves. I tend to prefer bisexual men for the same reason--they tend to be more open-minded about gender roles.

But the number of straight men I know who have had women be *in love* with them and the number of straight women I know who have had men be *in love* with them is pretty much equal. Entitlement to what? The advice "never tolerate a man who does this" and "never settle" don't imply that if you do those things, you'll get a boyfriend. The goal of that advice is to AVOID a bad man, not snag a good one. The more explicit, general version of this type of advice is what a lot of girls, myself included, are taught in childhood: "no man is better than a bad man."

It's not interesting at all. Checking for consent isn't some arbitrary ritual--both parties have equal responsibility to make sure their partner is, you know, consenting. If, as usually happens during heterosexual sex, you have one much stronger person physically on top of and penetrating a much weaker person, the stronger person must take into account the fact that the weaker person can't just...stop or leave. So the stronger person has to ask. If, as sometimes happens during heterosexual sex, …

"The decisive and final word of consent is for the woman" no it absolutely is not. Sex is an activity that requires consent equally from both parties. If a man wants to have sex with his female partner, but she doesn't want to have sex, they can't have sex. They both have the same complete veto power. Otherwise, it's rape. Why is reactive attraction "reaction to an irritant?" If my mom gives me a hug, I feel comfort. If my friend cracks a dumb joke, I laugh. I feel like this comment illustrates a phenomenon I’ve seen a lot. Women rely on and are emotionally intimate with their friends more than men are. Venting about and listening to each others problems, helping each other out of physical and social scrapes, talking about feeling etc are not ‘couple behaviors’ to women—they’re what friends do. Women who do these things with their male friends aren’t treating them like a boyfriend, they’re treating them like a friend.

I see a lot of posts like this—someone saying that people shouldn’t use a word because they imagine that the people who use that word all have the same duplicitous goal in mind. “Physical intimacy” is an extremely common and accepted term, and, like most terms, the people who use it are primarily using it to express their thoughts, not disguise them. This is not a feminist take. Just because a take may hurt redpillers’ feelings doesn’t make it feminist—in fact, feminists have fought long and hard to establish that a woman’s value shouldn’t be tied to a their appeal to the opposite sex.
