| – | The misusage and misrepresentation of the word "confidence" has destroyed modern dating advice and competence/skill should be more heavily emphasized. This is waaaay oversimplifying it. You can become more confident by doing things that make you more successful in life. As I've gotten older I've gotten better jobs, moved out on my own, started new activities... those things make me a more well-rounded person, and ultimately, contribute towards growing my confidence. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 09/07/23 11:10 AM |
| – | Are average guys really “struggling”?What would be a representative example, then? Plenty of people I know and grew up with aren't college-educated. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/07/23 10:24 PM |
| – | Are average guys really “struggling”?Thanks for sharing -- Yeah, I've known & had guy friends that are a lot like what you described. Some of them do get carried by their looks. But for the most part, it's because they're always out partying & putting themselves out there. They have a different kind of energy a lot of guys don't have. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/07/23 10:04 PM |
| – | [CMV] You have to PAY in order to be lovedThe romantic relationships I've been in I didn't need to "sell" myself. I just acted the way I was, and my exes were drawn to me. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/07/23 09:02 PM |
| – | [CMV] You have to PAY in order to be lovedI mean, technically speaking yea. Everything in life has a "price", but not every relationship (romantic or otherwise) is purely transactional. Maybe I'm just projecting my positive life experiences, but people aren't nearly as cold as you make them out to be. On the topic of unconditional love - my parents & grandparents have been married for decades. So it is possible. Just maybe not as common as it used to be. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/07/23 08:45 PM |
| – | Are average guys really “struggling”?Anyway, I think average guys struggle, but a lot has to do with environment. If you are in an environment where you meet & interact with enough new people then you probably will find some who are compatible occasionally, eventually. If you don't have exposure to lots of people then you have to overcome that liability by either being +1 attractive or charismatic or at least extroverted, which average guys generally aren't. Bingo. The well dries after you graduate college, enter your mid-late 20s,… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/07/23 07:33 PM |
| – | Are average guys really “struggling”?Bro, what? Maybe I'm just in different circles than the rest of the posters here. But the former basically describes myself & majority of my friends... we're all college-educated, have decent jobs, and pretty good lives. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/07/23 07:29 PM |
| – | Are average guys really “struggling”?Okay - I fit pretty much everything in the former, and still struggle with dating. So, to answer your question - yes. Average guys, in general, are struggling. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/07/23 06:40 PM |
| – | Are average guys really “struggling”?What does that look like? Can you define it, or try to quantify it? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/07/23 06:29 PM |
| – | Are average guys really “struggling”?Before I answer any of what you wrote -- what is an "average" man? And what is a "below average" man? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/07/23 06:28 PM |
| – | Are average guys really “struggling”?Instagram is absolutely not reflective of reality lmao. It's a filtered snapshot of people's lives. Of course people in happy relationships doing shit as couples are gonna post that. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/07/23 06:27 PM |
