"Women are only dating top men." "Who?" "Top. Men."

Sorry, I don't follow. Do you mind explaining?

Most aren't literally segregated. Although if there is any segregation it's mote likely to be women only. It's that the divide between male and female interests through a combination of nature and nurture have divided to a degree where a lot of hobbies are going swing one way or the other. That's why you have book clubs being all (or mostly) women and something like chess club being all (or mostly) men. I personally do a few different activities with good social groups made up of men and women. …

I think it's accurate. Also, other men's dating issues aren't my concern so no, I don't help them. They can figure it out or give up. Not my problem.

Well I don't hike to meet women, I hike to get outside and enjoy some awesome views and time away from society and technology. And I already have other hobbies where I meet people (of both genders) and get to socialize. Also, don't know what's up with Meetup if it's just my area, the UI, or what but it's garbage here. There really isn't anything in my area worth going to and it feels like the only reason at this point I'd be going to another thing would be to try and meet women to date. Which, a…

It seems a lot of hobbies and activities are becoming gender segregated and what you're seeing is selection bias. I can find a bunch of activities and communities that are majority or only men and nit just the nerdy shit like video games and anime the guys here all obsess over.

Well if you live somewhere where it's a couple hours drive to get to the good hiking spots there aren't exactly going to be a lot of clubs to go to. I just solo hike a couple times a year when work schedule and weather permit it

While a lot of women do hike and it's easy to connect over, it's not so great during the act of hiking itself. "Hey, there woman who's smaller and weaker than me, a full grown man. Nice day for the trails, innit? Sure is nice being far out in nature and away frok other people. Where no one can hear screaming. Or gunshots. So, would you care to carouse the trail beside me?"

No, I don't want to mooch off someone else's money. This is also a female fantasy. Women prefer someone at or above their level. As far as I care about finances she just needs to be responsible and be able to pay for her own way

/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/25 06:56 PM

Because most women aren't single and the ones that are need to listen to OPs advice a but more. The combination of dating apps and social media have inflated their standards to the point they're expecting borderline perfection.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/25 03:46 PM

Men will agree with this sentiment. Women will vehemently disagree with it.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/25 03:43 PM

Instagram Social media is fucking cancer and constantly viewing your own life through the lens of "how will this look on Instagram? I have to make my life look perfect" leads to a lot of mental health issues. And I'd rather not date some brain rotted insta addicted chick anyways

They honestly think their presence is enough. Despite that the onus to have an engaging and positive conversation is once again on the guy to provide. It is incredibly rare that a women will even ask me a question beyond adding "how about you?" to whatever I just asked.

When did hobbies become so gender segregated? Or has it always been this way that hobbies are overwhelmingly dominated by one sex or the other?

Oh ffs, this again. Which gender is asking out which 95+% of the time? How many women are asking out men consistently to even begin to tilt the scales to an even position? Imagine being this petty and entitled while also demanding "muh equality" at every other turn

https://np.reddit.com/r/dating/s/trqeUPuFSk Here's a thread full of women ripping into OP for not paying the full bill on a first date all saying how they think he's cheap and wouldn't see a guy again if he did hat to them lmao

Tbh most of the guys here seem to be neurotic. But it can also come off as extreme main character syndrome to take such offense to being called average. Which statistically most people are.

I'm in the US but I have NEVER experienced or heard of a girl asking out a guy on a planned first date. I even made a Chadfishing account years ago (yeah its shitty but the memes were true) and despite getting hundreds of matches in a week, not a single woman asked him on a date. The most I've ever seen women do is aggressively give green lights to the guy to ask. The most obvious being "we should go out sometime" but not giving a time, location, or activity.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/25 05:03 PM

Because all the effort is front loaded onto the guy including finding someone to date, approaching, initiating, logistics, and paying. It's also mostly on the guy to be entertaining during the date. Doing this over and over for an extended period of time for repeated first dates that don't go anywhere because at least one person didn't feel any connection is tiring. Sure, the guy can start doing more fun things (which are probably more expensive too. I did axe throwing once and that was about 40…

Dating can be fun for women. For men it's a bit of a slog
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/25 03:43 PM
4

Why do women hate "average"? Like if you try and tell them they're just an average person they'll react like you just said they're dogshit. Sorry, you're not a special, unique snowflake. You're about as memorable as any other random person. And they can't stand the thought of being with an average guy, they all want an exceptional guy.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/25 02:21 PM
1

This is it. It's something that's going on at least subconsciously in most guys
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/25 12:18 PM

If I show up for a date and she's heavier than her pictures showed or she's a bit awkward or quiet (which, I get it happens it's a human thing but this is a death sentence for men) then it's not really all that fun for some super overpriced drinks and the cover charge for the music or whatever. For me at that point I'd rather have stayed in and read some more of that book I'm into.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/25 03:42 PM
1

Yep. It's like there's a certain meta build for OLD that guys have to figure out how to fit themselves into
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/25 03:25 PM
1

Yes, but my friends and I have each others backs. If one friend never initiated contact and never paid for their part, it would get annoying. Compare this with dates where most of the time it is one and done, you never see them again hence she never has to "grab the next round." And men are doing the actual asking and planning of the initial dates. I've had girls "ask me out" before but it's just them telling me to ask them out. They leave all the logistics to the guy.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/25 03:16 PM
1

Yeah. But it's also mostly up to the guy to generate attraction at the start. Which kind of leads to a going through the motions attitude internally to not lead to disappointment. Sorry, feels like I'm getting kind of off topic and whining here. I think we've both made our major points for the main discussion of the thread
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/25 03:12 PM
1

Not for literally everyone, no. But it is still a norm in the states for many people. And enough guys are willing to do it that a lot of girls will take it as a negative if you don't. I used to always split (unless it was something stupid cheap) when I was a naive (and poor) college guy who wanted a non hypocritical egalitarian girl. I don't know how many chances I blew, but it's just not something worth losing out to competition over who are more than happy to one up the next guy
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/25 03:08 PM
1

Yeah, it's just a long game of hurry up and wait so that maybe a girl I find attractive who is also single and finds me attractive shows up one day and then I can gradually try and feel it out while also knowing she's getting this same attention from other guys and has an inbox full of guys at her disposal. Even harder when people are getting to the stage where theyve established their social circle and are too busy and tired to expand it any more
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/25 03:03 PM
1

I've been on about one a month since the start of the year. A few of them have split or have been willing to split but I also wasn't feeling it with amy of them anyways. I just wouldn't want to blow it if/when I find someone I do click with because of some irrational gender norm. I'm not happy about it but if it hurts my odds to not pay then I'll just suck it up and pay
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/25 03:00 PM
1

Fair enough. For me that's extremely rare so my dates are mainly through OLD and feels like there's more pressure on me to generate chemistry from thin air
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/25 02:51 PM

When it comes to a lot of animals with high sexual dimorphism, we humans tend to see the males as being the more beautiful ones on average. Lions have their impressive manes, bucks have their antlers, peacocks have their feathers, stallions habe their crested necks, bulls are muscular and stocky, the great apes are larger and stronger, etc. But I wonder if in those animal's minds they have the same thoughts we do, that the female members of their own species are more beautiful than the males. Because dating investment is very front loaded for men and most of the time it doesn't go anywhere. So it gets tiring trying to do the pricier fun dates when it's more efficient to do cheap, simple get to know you dates in the early stages. But those types of dates being fun relies much more on both people finding each other to be very enjoyable company and that doesn't happen too often for neither party's fault

Are you fine with going on endless first dates that never lead anywhere? Is it wrong to want to eventually want to find someone to move forward with and have relationship, sex, intimacy, and all that fun stuff with?

Thats because these young women are identifying as "bi" despite never dating or having sex with orlther women. It's a combination of seeing other women as pretty and the social popularity of the LGB stuff among young liberals

Look, I've got a full schedule and a tight budget. Paying for two for a fun activity + drinks or whatever can chip away. The cheap, easy, simple dates like coffee rely entirely on the two having great chemistry. When dates turn into repeated duds, it all starts to feel so repetitive
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/25 12:27 AM

I mean, sure. When a few dates don't pan out it's not the end of he world. But if you're averaging getting maybe one date a month and they all feel like forced conversation and there's zero chemistry eventually you just want the results already

Dating can be fun for women. For men it's typically a slog
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/25 08:49 PM

Because MRAs are guys who are just mad they can't get laid. Any well adjusted guy who doesn't hate women doesn't spend his time bitching and whining about how bad men have it. MRAs never accomplish anything, they just moan and complain. Yeah, there are man hating feminists but they actually get progress done for their cause. Plenty of feminists have normal relationships as well. They don't stop just because they get a guy
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/25 02:48 PM

No
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/25 02:43 PM

MRAs are mostly incels. Let's be real, if these guys were having success with women they wouldn't be throwing a boo hoo pity party about themselves and their "rights"
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/25 12:41 PM

My post was more in the theme that the guy paying is such a gendered expectation that you don't get any brownie points for doing so but are kicked down if you don't. It's buried at the bottom of the mound of "bare minimum" expectations that keeps growing by the year
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/25 06:27 PM

"If he's asking her out" Yeah, which gender doing the asking, planning, and logistics for the initial date over 95% of the time?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/25 01:11 PM

"If there's going to be a second date" There's the caveat. With a low conversion rate of first to second dates, this can start to rack up with no reciprocity. That's why I just look at it as a business expense and try to do things I'd enjoy anyways
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/25 01:10 PM

Or she does the "Oh let me get my half" faux reach for her wallet but she's expecting you to double down and insist on paying. This satisfies her cognitive dissonance about wanting to be paid for but not to be called cheap. Of course, if you let her pay her half then you're cheap and no date #2 Honestly it was a sharp learning curve for me from wanting a non hypocritical egalitarian woman who doesn't blindly follow gender norms to accepting that women prefer benevolent sexism and special treatme…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/25 09:44 AM

Paying for a girl on a first date doesn't increase a guy's odds of getting a second date or getting laid or whatever. But not paying for a girl certainly decreases it in most cases

Women: "men should pay for the date because it shows they're nice and generous" Men: "okay, what do women do on the date to show that they're nice and generous?" Women: "what?" Women: "I don't understand the question" Men: "if men are showing they are kind and generous by paying for the woman on a date that he also planned out, what is the woman doing to reciprocate?" The method theyd prefer is the man pays for them. Yeah its stupid, entitled, cheap, and selfish. But thats what they want and there are more than enough guys sho will do it for them. I don't like doing it but I just shut up and pay. These other guys can hold to their principles and never get laid while the ones who pay can get laid. Too bad so sad
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/25 10:29 PM
1

Yeah, but then every guy has to pay for her by default. Then no guys can stand out this way and being paid for becomes an expectation from women.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/25 10:13 PM
3

She showed up for the free meal you provided for her. What part aren't you getting? Sarcasm but it's sad so many women think their presence alone is something men should feel privileged to [pay to] experience

By showing up for her free meal obviously.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/25 10:02 PM

You do understand that is a massive social faux pas that basically guarantees no date will be happening, right? "Looking forward to seeing later. BTW, be sure to bring your wallet because we're splitting the bill"
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/25 10:00 PM
2

If you don't like her, go ahead and split. But if you want a second date just suck it up and pay, OP. Because if you don't, some other guy will. Treat it like a business expense.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/25 07:17 PM

And this leaves those guys in a vicious catch 22. They can't get experience because they don't have experience. This leaves their options as either extreme dumb luck or lying about it

Men are told that having a scarcity mentality is a poor mindset to have and should adopt an abundance mentality. However, I would argue that most men are living in a scarcity reality. There is a slight gender imbalance towards men in the lower age brackets which on a large scale ends up being millions more young men than young women. Most women are already in relationships. Many women do not want relationships with men. And a lot of women simply don't make themselves available to organically mee…

The "just don't be fat" tagline isn't just a meme. If a woman is fit there is a 90+% chance she'll be generally seen as attractive. Not only does it affect your looks, it also shows your values and lifestyle choices (and not in a positive light) Being overweight is one of the most unattractive things a person can do with their body and it is 100% within their own control
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/25 02:00 AM

With the hyperagency assigned to men and the tendency for women to have responsive desires (men's tends to be spontaneous), then yeah it does kind of turn into 'input X and response should be Y'

I'm mostly agreeing with you here. I'd just like to bring up this part: "women's advice is for how to succeed with the women who do want you" One, women are different so a womam will give advice for what works for her with a guy she's into. It might not work for the woman the guy is asking advice for And two, this is the big one, most men are operating from the position of "I do not have any women who want me and it is uncommon that I come across any who are." So men are in fact asking how to ge…

Ah yes. Average males should all just be castrated to remove their pesky drive to procreate so as to never bother women with their undesirable urges. Breeding and procreation should be reserved for top quality males only to be quantified based on their conformation, height, genetic history, intelligence levels, and physical prowess. This should reduce the number of breeding males to, say, 10-20% of the current population. We could even develop some kind of cataloging system to let women browse t…

Men are looking for reasons to like a woman. Women are looking for reasons to disqualify a man. As soon as a guy does something to get a "no" from a woman that's it, he's done.

Loneliness from lack of romantic relationship is like being malnourished from lacking a specific nutrient. If you haven't had enough protein today you will not feel satiated no matter how many carbs or calories you consume. Likewise, if you have no romantic intimacy, you will feel lacking even with plenty of friends and family.

"And why do men like you keep bringing up dating apps..." Because after college it can become very infrequent to meet new eligible bachelorettes. Guys have to put in a lot of intentional work just to meet women. This can take a lot of time, effort, and money. And even then we still habe to deal with the numbers game. Most young women aren't single. Most of the single women aren't going to be attracted to most guys. Then there's the question of whether the guy likes the women who are interested i…

It's discouraging to think of the probability of meeting a girl at any given place or the odds of talking to a girl leading to success. How many women will be there? How many will be in my age range? How many will I find attractive? How many of those are single? How many of those would be interested in me? How much male competition will I have at said location? It's wild that women have so much abundance in potential partners that not only can they be extremely picky about the caliber of men they date but they can also limit when, where and how they meet guys. I would just like to see all these post feminism strong, independent egalitarian adult women have a little agency instead of passively waiting for the universe to just drop their desired partner into their laps. And relationships are a cooperation between two people. It takes two to tango, two people to play catch. Women complain about the bar being in hell but if you put in even a modicum of initiative (text first, be interested in learning about the guy, suggest a date including the logistics)…

Sure, but opportunities are few and far between. And yes, I do have social hobbies which do include women. But I don't have a lifestyle where I'm meeting 20 new eligible bachelorettes every week

The rigid criteria a lot of women judge men online by would make an early 20th century eugenecist blush.

No, there's nothing wrong with that morally and I know most people aret special unique snowflakes. The difference is if a man is generic online he's completely invisible and ignored. If a woman is generic she still receives hundreds of likes. Men have to excel to stand out in several areas. Women just have to try and be healthy (19-21 BMI)

I saw a screenshot of a girl's tinder bio. It was along the line of "I'm not like the other girls. I like hiking and tacos and wine and travel and good friends and dogs and The Office and... oh wait." Funny and she was obviously aware of the complaints men have been sharing. Perfectly encapsulates how generic the typical woman's profile is. Bonus points if anyone can find the post.

I'm willing to bet a lot of those are people they already know IRL but they message them online because they're too awkward and shy to go up and ask in person
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/25 12:31 PM

Sounds a lot like OLD. The guys spam hundreds of likes (or DMs) to see what sticks. Girls get overwhelmed and set their profiles to private or ignore their inboxes. Just seems demoralizing and pathetic either way.

What are the odds of some anonymous random person in one of these groups turns out to be 1) a girl 2) in your age range 3) decently attractive (19-21BMI) 4) lives close to you and 6) is single and 7) would be willing to meet you?

Guys on reddit: "I have such a hard time meeting women!" Their hobbies: video games, anime, magic the gathering, warhammer 40k, sitting quietly by themselves, and browsing reddit

I do think you can open up and be vulnerable later on in a relationship. But it's something you have to drip feed to them over time and always reassure them that it's something you're working on

The "be vulnerable and open up with your female partner" meme is similar to the "what's your greatest weakness" question in job interviews. The answer you give isn't really that big of a deal and you turn it around to make it into a strength.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/25 09:26 AM

I mean, you just did what I described in my post. "Just understand angles, lighting, and exposure, bro. It's easy!" I know about the whole golden hour for natural lighting. But there's still the question of where should I be facing in regards to the light? And how should the camera be angled in regards to that? And I know about portrait mode but how much blur should the background be given? Should the camera angle be higher or lower? And all this is after you've decided on what to take for pictu…

Really feels like one has to have the equivalent of a college minor in photography to figure out how to take good photos for OLD as a guy. Between the equipment, the lenses, the angles, the lighting, etc it's not clear where to even begin. And the online videos and article don't help because they almost always list off generic things like getting good angles and lighting without expanding on what those looks likeor how to create them.

Ah darn, you got me! But like I mentioned above, I think dating apps really do not give users enough text space to really be able to tell people about ourselves. And I know apps are criticized for a million and one things here already but this point is kinda downplayed. I'll use hinge as an example. You can select 3 prompts from a list (many of which suck) which all have a short character count. A well-rounded individual could easily fill out 20+ of these. Instead we either have to cram in short…

These are some of the difficulties I've found trying to craft a bio for OLD with the extremely limited space we're provided. Trying to sound impressive without being a braggart. Trying to tell a bit about who I am as a person without being boring. Trying to also be funny with some kind of original joke. Trying to be honest about what I'm looking for without sounding demanding. And trying to give women something to respond to which, in my experience, is a fool's errand because they will rarely, i…

I'm trying to change the 6/6/6 meme into the 6 sixes. Six feet tall, six pack abs, six inch dick, six year degree, six figure salary. I just need to figure out what the last six should be. Any suggestions?

Yeah, but what are guys supposed to do with this information? There's limited space to tell people anything about yourself as a person and so many women waste it on useless info. They expect guys to lad and carry the conversation but all they've told us is that they like dogs, martinis, and coffee

Why do literally hundreds of women mention espresso martinis in their OLD bios?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/25 09:30 AM

Yup. That or they complain about the same few convos being repeated by different guys. It's like they expect you to have read their autobiography before matching them and for every guy to have a brand new unique thing to say to them. No. You're a stranger to these guys and we only have a couple poor topics to talk to you about. They can display absolutely no personality and still get flooded with guys trying to chat them up. They're just coasting by on their symmetrical facial features and the f…

On Hinge you have three prompts to say something about yourself. I see so many women waste their prompts just to say they like espresso martinis, ask your opinion on pineapple on pizza, or my personal favorite: Prompt: first round is on me if... Answer: I would never say this. Like, you just come off as insufferable.

Most women have nothing of substance in their online dating profiles. It's amazing how cookie cutter they all look.
