So basically, if you want to make someone the father you only test a small genetic markers that you know will make it positive.

If he was responsible and went to court how would he challenge DNA proving him as the father? I don't think there is a law saying not showing up to court equals 5 years in prison so I doubt thats why he was sentenced to prison. He was sentenced to prison for not paying child support and DNA proved he was the father which it also would have done if he turned up in court since they somehow screwed it up.
