And for every tall woman who likes short men there's 100 tall women who likes tall men.

I think it's pretty established that industrialization and women working leads to a decreased birth rate. First it's about not needing spare babies in case a few dies during childhood, and in poor countries you rely on your kids to take care of you when you're older. I don't really agree with your facts that the countries with the best parental leave has the "lowest birthrates". Yes they're still below replacement and compared to a country like Chad, which has a fertility rate of 5.75 births per…

If there was good cosmetic surgeries for men people would do them more. Hair transplants are relatively common and you can get good results with that. Dental implant are also widely used by people who need it and can afford it. You can't really do surgery for muscle, but in bodybuilding and male modelling using PED is extremely common. Like many big actors use PEDs to get in shape for roles in movies. It's very clear from their results that it's not natural gains.

I've definitely talked to women like this, and it's really annoying. It's like they've lost the ability to generalize. If 90% of people are one way, it's okay to say that everyone is like that. It's understood that it's an approximation and not literally every person is like that. Like "Humans have two arms and two legs", in that statement I don't give a shit about people who've lost an limb, it's not important to include them. Imo it's some women wanting to be super inclusive of everyone, to th…

I don't understand, you think saying there's no physical differences between men and women to be absurd. But then you question the neurological differences are actually real. Clearly the answer to both of these questions is the same. Like, a person who is physically bigger would also need more calories to sustain themselves. It makes sense that the person who needs more calories would also be hungry more often and feel and urge to eat more. Hunger is something 100% neurological, regulated by the…

We're talking about today though. Nobody is arguing about feminism is 1848. Maybe it was worth it to invade Afghanistan in 2001 to get bin laden, but after he was killed in 2011, you run out of stuff to actually do, so you invent new problems to solve. That's what we're talking about here. The last item on your list was in 1974, I'm sure you would be able to come up with a few more recent ones if you tried. But what big feminist milestone will happen in 2022? If the goal is really equality and n…

All innocent civilians are victims of here, including the women and children as well as the men. This is what I keep thinking, I really don't know enough about the country to know how things work there, but I'd imagine there's a lot of people who don't like the Taliban, men and women and who's lives will get a lot worse under Taliban rule. "Paradise for men, hellscape for women" sounds like something that only exists in people's imagination. If you don't follow the rules, you're likely get punis…

It also helped plummet birth rates to catastrophic levels. What is a rich a prosperous society if nobody is making babies and 100 years later you're headed straight for societal collapse? It seems very egotistical.

The Red Pill crowd often seems to idealize the traditional society, but they have yet to prove that these societies are better than equality. Why should they have to prove that it's better when patriarchal societies is the norm across cultures and history? It works, it's on to you to prove that the alternative is better than the convention.

You're not predicting shit though, at least that's not the entirety of it. Also where did this "from day 0" come from? You just added that out of nowhere. In the moment you can still just try shit and see they respond. Eventually you'll hit something which does it for them. You can very accurately gauge if someone is having fun or not, and you still don't depend on them telling you exactly what to do.

Oh yeah, and ants are just violent as white sharks. I actually watched a documentary on ant recently and they're brutal as fuck, they'll go to war with nearby colonies, they will team up like 8 ants on one and after cracking their carapace they will inject acid to melt the internal organs of their victim. Once they're dead they'll carry them back to their nest and eat them. Still, a shark can just like bite your entire arm off in one chomp.

I really hate this sentiment. It's the same people who are like anti consumerism and just want to live in the forest as a hippy. Today buying things is bad for the environment, having kids is bad for the environment, but guess what breathing is bad for the environment as well. The natural conclusion to that sentiment is that you should just kill yourself for the environment, that gets you the lowest CO2 impact possible. It's really dumb actually. Like your CO2 per captia in the US is 16 metric t…

I kinda like this point about equal effort. I'm not sure if I agree that 1 hour = 1 effort though. Work smarter, not harder. I don't think working 40 hours as a janitor or security guard is equal effort to working 40 hours as a lawyer or engineer. There's a reason the first two earn around $30k while the last two earn around $100k. Being an engineer requires A LOT more effort than being a janitor. Translating this to house work, certain types of house work require more effort than other. Like sp…

People really need to stop fooling themselves. It's a tough world out there. You can still be happy about what you do have instead of focusing what you don't have. Why should people praise you for looking like a landlocked whale? It's disgusting, it's unhealthy, you can't be as active, and probably there's mental issues underlying. Frankly nobody cares about you in public, random people on the street aren't your friend and don't care if they hurt your feelings, you're blocking the street. They d…

This is some beta shit, alpha is literally just the first letter of the Greek alphabet, same thing really as calling someone number one, a winner, or on the A team Everyone knows Team A is better than Team B. I can't really be bothered going into this argument since you literally compared a letter of the Greek alphabet to the N word. However, yeah there's no "immutable hierarchy" in humans, because we're complex creatures we can handle more complex social structures that depend on the situation.…

Personally I wouldn't care if the woman makes more. I make $120k, they make $250k, big fucking deal. Most of the wealth will come from assets anyway. You sit on your ass with a $2.5 million portfolio growing 10% per year and this somehow gets you out of actually putting any effort into the family? That shit have to be equal priority. Listen, I get your point about just wanting to be treated with the same respect they treat everyone else they interact with. If they started talking to some random on the subway they would probably be very polite, even if they don't care about the person. Look at birth rates though. Japan Spain Clearly isn't working out very well since you need 2.1 for the human race to survive. Also the age pyramid takes a while to adjust. But it's getting pretty serious already, Spain Japan In the last 10 years from 22% of the population being +65 years to 28%, that's a staggering increase. I don't know if it's bad for men in particular, but a "free choice" to be with someone or to be single looks pretty bad for humanity.

Any dumbass can start their own business and come up with some unnecessary idea. I don't think most people really give a shit nowadays about that. By education I would assume we're talking a proper education in something worthwhile and actual useful, high value in the real marketplace. ie STEM + med, econ, law. You can have plenty of options without flirting with more women at the same time. Not looking like you have options would be like, "I won two tickets to a concert, please come with me." Are they really in the same price bracket? Are we talking a $500 dinner? Seems like a bit of a waste of money, but spending $500 on dinners is vastly superior to Playstation 5, kinda obviously for me. In a way, yes. But we're using our resources in a unsustainable way regardless how many people there are. Really, I would say we need more people and more engineers working on making the world sustainable. Once everything is sustainable, we make like airplane engines, food farming, everything 10% more efficient, and we can sustain 10% more people. I think if you actually look at how humans evolved, men and women shared a lot of the same tasks. Men are stronger, women have kids, but in a tribe of 30 people, it doesn't make any sense to lock half of them to a specific task. How can you say this now? This feels like a really bad time to say we don't depend on each other in society. Yeah we like individualism and freedom. It wasn't really meant as the cliche "everyone has their own subjective opinion about what's attractive" Really just "How attractive do you need to be?" being subjective. Being rich means having a lot of money, how much? Is rich having $10k, $100k, $1 million, $1 billion? That's subjective. Population growth in Chad, Uganda, DR Congo, Pakistan is unsustainable. Population decline in South Korea, Spain, Italy, Japan, Canada, Norway, United States, China, Russia, Brazil is unsustainable. But you realize even if overpopulation is a problem, if everyone just stops having babies, there are no more humans born. I don't think you need to be very picky really. Making a evolutionary argument, throughout human history and across most cultures and societies today serial monogamy is the norm. For the most part pair bonding, raise a child, if partner dies or sucks go find a new one. Alright sure, I guess that's fair. From my previous example, if the store has something I'm happy I'd just go with that and not waste my time looking elsewhere that does make sense. There's still some level of, putting in more effort to seek out more options, like going to a bigger store or just waiting for door salesmen to knock on your door to sell you stuff. If you want a slightly a slightly different spin on this, it would be that men have to work way harder to demonstrate their value. As a fetus I think regardless of sex, nobody thinks you're that important. It's legal to abort a fetus and they don't have any rights, it's pretty clear we don't put much that value in a fetus. Connecting this to the original point, even if men have to prove their value in society, it doesn't get logged in a universal book everyone keeps track of. I know the way of thinking you described is a convenient way to justify treating others like shit when it benefits you, but it's really not how the world or people works. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/27/OECD_incarceration_rates_by_country.gif If you impose artificial consequences and hardships and generally treat someone like shit for doing something bad or even aw…

Do we have to do this whole thing with punishing people for stupid fucking mistakes? Can the government just pay for the kid? The kid will get a better upbringing and get a better education, the dude who fucked up and actually live to do something with his life and maybe contribute to society. Regardless how this kid came to be, maybe he got left at the border control by some immigrants, investing in this child and making him a valuable member of society will benefit everyone.

I think we're mostly on the same track. There is a limited amount of resources. But you're really looking at it as zero-sum while I see it way more like non-zero-sum. Yes the total resources on earth is limited and completely zero-sum, but regardless if we're using all of them or not ( I don't really think most of Russia's land area is being used effectively for example), it doesn't really matter. The limited resources we do have can always be used more effectively, by having scientist and engin…

How are we going to transition to renewable energy without any new engineers to build it? Building and driving an electric car for 10 years releases the same amount of emissions as just driving a normal combustion car for 3 years. Just driving an EV with home solar is near zero emissions. Building an electric car is not easy. We're still in the middle of solving the batteries and getting rid of expensive, exploitative minerals like cobalt and to some extent nickel out of the batteries and replac…

Society will be so fundamentally different in 40 years, you really have no context for what people living to be 500 would even do. Like are we talking for people living on Earth or on Mars? On Mars it would probably be great, because colonist can live longer and it would make it easier and faster to populate the planet.

We're actually heading right for societal collapse. In the majority of the world we need to be pumping up those numbers. https://www.bbc.com/news/health-53409521 Countries like Japan are fucked and at real risk of societal collapse over the next 100 years due to underpopulation. Unless you live in Sub-Saharan Africa, you should be concerned about this risk, because there could be no people left to care for you when you're older.

Ok, so lets look at the reasons for why people find these traits attractive. People don't just prefer lean and tall people "because it looks nice", there is some underlying reason for why we think being lean looks nice. Historically, way back, being overweight was very prestigious. In a place where food is scarce, showing everyone that you have access to a lot of food and can eat like a king, that's showing social status. Simple peasants wouldn't be able to eat that much, this guy being the size…

I don't think the quote itself it that bad, it's just the people who tend to use it and the behavior they try to push using that quote. Being accepting of someone's flaws in a relationship is something most people tend to do. Taking this for granted is first of all a bit exploitative, but it also sounds like someone could purposely try to be as terrible as possible and still want people to accept them. If your worst crosses the line, then you're out.

You need to exist to care about other people. Everything can be routed back to your own interests. You want to make a man feel loved by me, because him feeling loved makes you feel good. I don't know how true these two things are in actual reality, there's probably some element of truth to it, but not at all that simple. Still, don't you see how 1. would start becoming a natural reaction to 2? A man following 1 will counter the behavior of a woman following 2. If having multiple partners is seen as worse, there won't any better options to jump to, since every jump will decrease the quality of future partners. I think actually most primates are into polygamy and all that. Sleep around so much you don't know who's baby is who and force all the males to protect all the babies. Our society is definitely structured around monogamy. We don't have tribes that can take care of the tribes children anymore, two people team and care for a child. The problem of potential taking care of someone else child is also solved by having genetic testing.

Why are people so terrified of making mistakes? Some dude has a real awkward conversation with a girl, so what. What is he liable to be called to account for? What is he supposed to make up for, to explain, justify. Same thing with having been a flat-earther, why should I have to explain myself and be at fault for having been led to believe something stupid? We're all victim of circumstance to some degree, really I just think holding people accountable for their failures and flaws is kinda point…

Maybe it depends on how you see it, But my point was, black people weren't happy with slavery and wanted change. White people at the time kinda liked having slaves do all the cotton picking for them. Just because black wanted a change in their role, White people would be forced to change their roles too. White people don't want to change their roles, and no one can force them, not having slaves to do all the work anymore would be a huge inconvenience. To anyone that's big into the whole women's …

I think most people who wish for Sharia law or whatever women hating, white supremacy ideology they've bought into, is not actually what they want, neither would they stop being frustrated with society if everything they wished for just happened to come true overnight. They are frustrated because they're outcasts and been treated badly by society. Whatever they say they want is mostly just an outlet of their frustration, in order to be able take all the complex reasons of why their life is a fai…

I don't think it's a good idea to just discard some percentage of society for any reason. Piss them off too much and they can really fuck things up for everyone. 9/11 was caused by 19 people with box cutters, that's how much damage a handful of pissed off individuals can cause. I wouldn't put responsibility on any single person to deal with these people, but as a society it's in our best interest to help these people out so we won't have to deal with the consequences. In Japan they've long had a…

Yes, neuroplasticity is a big thing and how we are raised and what society expects from us play a big role in our behavior. The underlying needs may be similar but men I think will always express a higher sex drive due to testosterone. There's been a lot of research on what testosterone does and that like if there's a woman watching a male do skateboard tricks they will attempt higher risk tricks and their testosterone levels will increase versus if a man is watching them. In general it just red…

WWII has shown us just how easily men are replaceable. Plus a higher ratio of men are born after a period of war. In the USSR 27 million people (men) died with a total population of 170 million. 33% of men gone and it didn't really effect that much.

Diversity hires, most companies want female executives and a good gender ratio, mostly to good look on paper and good in the media. Any time a woman fucks up on her job people will jump to her being unqualified and a diversity hire. Instantly dismissed and not taken seriously, yet holding a important role, on paper. There's no real defense either, because there's a lot of people who did get their job or were promoted only because they're a woman, to keep good gender ratios in the company.

Why do you need a toy catch capable of being launched, projectile style into a concrete wall without damage? If it's a toy for toddlers, then it only needs to be strong enough to survive everything a toddler can do to be virtually indestructible for all practical purposes. If you think of all the possible age gap relationships, 25-30, 30-50, 50-75, 18-25 then most of them we consider fine. So in general people don't have a problem with age gaps. If you take that toy and put it in a hydraulic pre…

There's so much research in this area and currently being done. Here's one paper I found just now, https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3622463/ We review evidence which suggests that engagement in an environment that requires sustained cognitive effort may facilitate cognitive function. Ie if you make an effort to challenge yourself and learn new things even as you get older then you can reduce the decline in brain function with age.

Exactly, for most people, if they have access to food it's not something you spend your life thinking, or even caring about. This doesn't mean having access to food isn't significant, obviously it is, but you just move on to other higher needs. This actually pretty perfectly follows Maslow's hierarchy of needs also usually shown as a pyramid of needs. Food would be part of physiological needs, Sex would fall in Love/Social belonging as the third category. From what I've seen in this thread many …

It depends on how confident you are in the response. If you have 3 bodyguards escorting you then you don't really care if someone tries to attack you, it's just a dumb idea on their part. You would assume that they can see the 3 huge bodyguards next to you and figure out that it will end badly for them if they try to jump you, and just not do it. during, maybe not to the same effect. Behavior influences your thoughts and your thoughts influences your feelings. This is kinda the entire point of CBT. You can't change your feelings, but you can change the way you choose to think about things, which will overtime change your behavior and feelings. But who's the person that's actually in charge of deciding what's a positive and what's a negative trait? You sure…

I mean, we have laws in our society that ensures people who break the law get punished. If we want to remove as far as possible from other people, take for example when you walk into a store and buy some random pharmaceutical then you can feel safe that your aspirin, or whatever is not spiked with LSD. If there was no regulations or laws to stop people from mixing random shit in with the aspirin then I doubt you would feel as safe taking it. So just knowing that if someone fucks with you, they'r…

In the study in says "Least satisfied with their sex lives was the youngest age bracket of men (16-29 years) with 32% being satisfied" So that would be 68% of men age 16-29 are unsatisfied with their sex lives. Most satisfied were women age 30-64 (63 percent) and men age 30–44 (67 percent) chart, https://i.imgur.com/QrDhXBc.png Also interesting, "Twice as many women (33 percent) as men (15 procent) reported having lost interest in sex." and 29 percent in the 16–29 age bracket.

I think this is kinda hitting on the same point, with gaming someone can spend 1000 hours and accomplish nothing. It's just a huge time sink, when I hear gamer that reads as "I spend all my time wasting away and haven't done anything with my life". There's limits to how much time a person can spend running, the body needs to rest and the absolute max would be running for like 2 hours every day. It's pretty funny, I saw in the annual report for my university that there is a government issued goal that between 2017-2019 33% of recruited and promoted professors should be female. By just pure chance they nailed that goal and managed to find exactly 33% qualified professors this year after overshooting and recruiting 65% female professors last year. So structure a new relationship like if it was a Netflix series... Got it, don't show the monster and all that, allude to a deeper mystery while slowly revealing aspects of your personality, maybe throw in a big plot twist somewhere. Lastly, a person can choose to embrace the absurd condition. According to Camus, one's freedom – and the opportunity to give life meaning – lies in the recognition of absurdity. If the absurd experience is truly the realization that the universe is fundamentally devoid of absolutes, then we as individuals are truly free. "To live without appeal," as he puts it, is a philosophical move to define absolutes and universals subjectively, rather than objectively. The freedom of humans is thus establis…

Bonobos is a type of chimp. Modern day Chimpanzees and Bonobos separated from a common ancestor 2 million years ago while humans separated from that common ancestor 8 million years ago. Genetic analysis shows that Bonobos has evolved very little since they separated from chimps because they only live in a specific area and are very isolated. That's a really interesting paper, Male reproductive skew was higher in bonobos than chimpanzees because high-ranking bonobo males more effectively monopolized reproduction. Our closest relatives, Bonobos live in a matriarchy and they do almost no competing.
