I was not musically apt so learning an instrument had been rewarding. It’s also quite relaxing when you are solely doing it for yourself. I think most of the ‘time’ actually goes to between activities. Someone who is frantically busy gets things done but is consumed by the stress in between. If you’re doing your own thing you get things done but are relaxed and collected in between.

Other aside, I avoid using the term ‘honestly’ in a response because it implies I’m not usually. Likely accurate in this case.

I appreciate the synopsis. Wish I could get it with every movie before devoting 2ish hours to it. Sounds like it’s up there with Interstellar when the female scientist says they should follow ‘love’.

Didn't say it was easy to be a caregiver, and you seem to agree that it's hard to put time and energy into work while being one : ).

And they answer their own question in the next two points. ‘More likely to be caregivers’ (ie. not work), ‘more likely to work part time’ (ie. work less). Patriarchy!

My advice would be to start by working on your strengths, when you get ahead you have the leisure to work on your weaknesses.

‘The fact that men can’t share their emotions...’ Sure they can, not a fact. I think you meant if you do, women won’t want you, which is likely true. Not sure how we’re hanging that on men.

Behavioral psychology and economics, or why people do what they do, even when it isn’t overtly rational. Decision paralysis: a display with 6 choices of jam sold 10 times as much jam as a display with 24 choices. Backfire effect: giving people information that contradicts their held beliefs frequently makes those beliefs stronger. Discounting: we put less value on things that are removed to the future than immediate rewards. The negative consequences of lining up for things. Also interested in a…

To expand, they were judged as being better than you by the women in your life. Which can sting but would you consider those women rational, reasonable and thoughtful? Willing to bet you wouldn’t, so how can you put too much weight on their choices? You can choose to pander to them and end up as one of those dancing monkeys with the fashionable haircut using the economy of scale to try to catch the right woman at the right time. Or you could say fuck it and do what makes you happy.

I find the ‘some guys just hate women’ statements an extension of societal narcissism. Because if you aren’t playing ball, you must still be dedicating your thoughts and emotional energy entirely to women, sitting there hating all day. You couldn’t possibly just not give a shit and be living your life.

It's from a podcast I was listening to about common cognitive errors, about 1 in 3 people will mix it up, but if they put people in groups of 3s 100% of the groups get it correct. The posit was that though we aren't very good at formulating arguments/solutions, we are very good at choosing the correct answer from several choices. Thought you might be interested, and if not too late you already read it : ).

I’ll paraphrase the average comment. ‘But you should have known she’d want to get married even though she never said so, because all girls want to get married. And even though you don’t want to get married, now you have to, because what you want doesn’t matter and you should have known.’

It’s not so much achievements that I will one day put on the shelf it’s doing the things that benefit you, be it financially, physically, intellectually. If that’s dating/hook ups for you, great! The only wrong way to MGTOW is not to do it your way. I get more benefit out of time spent on other pursuits. As for your specific question, I suppose I would judge the experience on its own merits.

"MGTOW is a collection of people who ... were not seen as valuable in that marketplace." Perhaps this is the lynch pin, MGTOW is a group of individuals so I cannot speak for them. But it is not that I have no value, it is that I see no value. I have x, I can trade x for y, but I would prefer x to y, thus I keep x. It does not require that I cannot obtain y, nor does the lack of y impede me.

Most pre-wall women are overwhelmed with attention so much that they can entirely dictate the rules of engagement. Then she'll realize something has changed and post a classic where are all the nice guys? I'm not sure if she is this clever, but there's also the scam e-mail side to it. Most scam e-mails are so obvious because the scammers only want to put in the effort on the most gullible people they can find. I remember my dad telling me that women would lie to get pregnant when I was around 16, blew my mind at the time. Much later in life it was a sum of watching women in my life make atrocious relationship decisions, when I realized I wasn’t up against logical thinking I quit playing.

Someone once told me I’d have to start learning for fun, which they turned out to be right. Behavioral economics is a particular interest. Classical economics assumes people make rational decisions that are good for them, behavioral economics exists because people don’t actually do that.

I saw a version of the Dwayne Johnson rule that claimed it would help ‘keep you from being accused of sexual assault’ which is of course fallacious because you can be accused at any time for any reason. Thanks listen and believe.

I learnt to and try to keep up with paragliding. Great excuse to travel and there is a lot of freedom in 3d space and being in the moment. Not practical for everyone, but if you have the chance to go in a glider (sailplane) would also strongly recommend. Quiet and peaceful while at the same time requiring some foresight and planning that most things don't. Also fairly financial reasonable.

TL:DR They put up a survey asking people (women) about their experiences with sexual harassment in the outdoor sports. They received some saucy answers from the interwebs, and now kindly request that if you aren't going to take everything on the internet seriously that you unfollow them. If I had hired this person to manage my social media and they virtue signaled so hard that they started telling people not to read my magazine I'd be kinda choked.
