The only problem I see is with how pervasive google is. Tons of people use Google without knowing about the James Damore incident. Hell, most people probably believe what the media told them if they do know about it. Google, at this point, is too big to fail by boycott. Only way I see google ending is if someone with influence promotes our ideals, and that’s not likely to happen.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. I think it was a political move, in part. It will help energize his base further and get those that don’t like what Me Too is doing to side further away from the Democrats. Trump is probably trying to frame the Democrats as the witch hunt party, especially given his accusations about the Mueller investigation being a witch hunt. This could cause more people to align with his views.

I want to jump in and say that this isn’t all due to malice. A good many officers and prosecutors just don’t want to waste the time, money, and other resources on a case that isn’t a surefire win. This is also why most cases are plea bargained; it’s much cheaper and quicker than going to court. This isn’t a justification, just an explanation.
