5	"unemployed" is often used as an insult against men The amount of jobs I’ve come across in the last few years that are genuinely PERFECT for me for the first 4 lines, then it gets to the “this opportunity is only available to women/BAME/LGBTQ” line and it’s so disheartening. They say they’re being inclusive but they’re literally excluding me for things I have no control over. I think I’m going to start saying I’m asexual and therefore LGBT or I have Roma ancestry. Maybe that’s my paranoia breaking through though. I don’t really care. First time I ever went to Africa with my family my sister asked a waiter what the vegetarian options were. This was the late 90s and they were just becoming popular in the UK. The waiter looked confused, so my mum said “she doesn’t eat meat”. He looked at us all individually to check if we were serious, then looked at my mum and asked “how long are you in Africa for?”.
