OP sounds like what I imagine my sister might say to rationalize her behavior in a few (maybe several) years ….. My sister is not a very good person.

I've had this happen as well. Women CANNOT handle rejection, which is why so many are smart enough to simply not approach. Fastest way to see the hamster start spinning is to kindly, but firmly, reject a woman's advances. The wheel will hit spin-level: Nuclear. Keep 'em guessing OP, it's none of their business. If they want to run circles around themselves guessing where you like to put your dick, it's their time and energy they get to waste.

Something to consider, perhaps, is how useful your education will be living in a hellish environment. You may want to consider how much value you can derive from this education while you are continually buffeted by a chaotic home life. Seems to me, that if you your home life is as bad as you say, you should make it your primary priority to extricate yourself from the situation. Who knows how your reasoning has been compromised by said living environment. You need a way to be independent from you…

Damn, rough experience brother. Honestly you probably feel like a pathetic victim because you were legitimately victimized. Now your brain has gone into meek mode in an attempt to prevent further victimization. Learn how to defend yourself, you have to sincerely convince yourself you're not the same guy. Also, are you going to counselling? No shame in it, you need to sort that out.

Admittedly that has been my experience as well, first time I left the country I travelled around on my own dime at 18, many years ago. Was surprised by how many cock thirsty girls had boyfriends back home. I was so naive, I didn’t take them up on their offers because I wouldn’t want to be the guy on the other side of the fence. Not sure if I would do it differently today. I left to figure out what kind of person I wanted to be after a very rocky situation during my adolescence. didn’t think I wa…

“You're not a woman. When you go on a solo vacation, aren't you looking for ass? Well, she's looking for strange dick.” Not really, but if it happens great. I generally go to clear out some of the noise and reorient myself towards my values and principles.

I was talking to a friend about this the other day. He was bemoaning the fact we didn’t have the challenges in our daily life to prove our metal as men. And the thought struck me that the challenge is to define our OWN purpose. It’s easier to hunt a lion when that’s the only option you have. There’s a quote from wheel of time where the protagonist asks about the fate of humanity, and the seers tell him that ‘your fate is to choose’. That is our fate. Nihilism is easy. Meaninglessness is easy. Li…

Fair enough man, it's your brain. However, psychedelics are a very different beast compared to weed/alcohol. My friend didn't do it to "enjoy the feeling", he was purposefully trying to change the way his brain processed information. You may benefit from investigating further if this is something you're serious about. All the best.

Do a shit ton of mushrooms. I’ve got a friend who is autistic, was ocd and just a weirdo. Knew he had to change so he fried his brains on psychedelics and can now interact normally with other people. In fact, the man is god damn charismatic now. And smart as a whip.

There used to be a guy in high school, I always had to deal with his shit tests. Amused mastery all the way man. This guy was stronger, more athletic, better looking and rich as fuck, but I was the dominant in the group dynamic, because I saw him as a scared little boy who would pipe up everyone once in a while in the hope people would believe his BS. It was child’s play swatting him back down with a couple words. The man with the stronger frame wins. Doesn’t matter how tall/ good looking he is.…

Come to terms with it. I know I’m not someone who struggles with getting attention and interest from women, so a lack romantic relations doesn’t necessarily make me feel like a lesser man. Women are dessert, they aren’t the main course.

Well, it’s been about 8 months for me. In that period of time I’ve started and maintained m a regular yoga practice, joined a jiu jitsu academy and applied for dental school with killer credentials. I haven’t so much as touched a woman romantically in that period of time. I’m not miserable. Some days I’m happy. Mostly I feel hungry for success. Content wouldn’t be the word I’d use.

Maybe that’s why men of the ancient past conceived this image of a greater patriarch, a being capable of loving men the way we all, deep down, desire to be loved. We found a way to fill that void through spiritual practice and beliefs, so that we could be the men we needed to be in the profane world. Or maybe Ive had too much coffee.

Absolutely. You don’t have to be BP to be liked by your teachers, you have to be like-able. If people like you, you don’t have to follow everyone else’s rules. I made a point of befriending my TA’s and professors in college. Still friends with many of them, I’d help them grade my classmate’s papers over beers. They all admitted that they didn’t like me at first because they thought I was going to be trouble in class. Then it turns out that I’m competent, don’t make excuses and those traits that …

Look, you’re a young guy in high school. Social validation at your stage of life is huge for everyone, you can’t just decide not to care how others think. Ultimately, this is what “frame” is about. What do you actually know about yourself? In what ways have you been tested? Go do something that scares you and see what you’re made of. Then you’ll actually be able to orient yourself towards something besides social validation. That’s what separates boys from men, and we shelter our boys far too lo…

I used to be like that. Now I’ve got so many other things going for me games are kind of boring in comparison. Its why people who just focus on quitting anything always circle back round. You’re filling some void with your game, the void isn’t going away. Ever. Find something else to replace it.

Yes, but it's something that is grown with practice and is a skill in its own right. Meditation (to me) is learning how to observe your own state of mind from a distance. I do this with a regular Ashtanga practice, others have their own ways. You'll have to figure it out for yourself.

It may seem counterintuitive, but go in thinking you’re going to be afraid and anxious, and then accept it. Don’t try to control how you feel, it won’t work. Ultimately your problem is learning how to relax. You can’t TRY to relax, you have to let go. I would also recommend meditation.

The part about a woman motivating a man back to strength resonates with me very strongly. This is how my parent’s relationship was. My father was clearly the alpha and mentally/physically stronger than all of us. But when things out of his control brought him low my mom dusted him off and encouraged him to be even better than he was. He died of ALS 10 years ago and my mother still worships the ground he walked on because even during his death he was the strongest among us. My mother told me late…

Yea, it’s totally performance anxiety. I just need to focus on enjoying myself rather than impressing anyone (especially the girl). It’s funny too, I’ve got no rational reason to be anxious about sex. I’m not insecure about my body, quite the opposite really. But if I’m not a total rockstar in the sack my stupid hamster tells me I’m inadequate as a man. So my solution, generally speaking, is to not try so that I won’t prove that stupid hamster right. Which is just more hamstering.
