How long did you wait after your divorce to start dating again? And how long is too soon?As long as it doesn’t affect the kids, it ain’t none of her business. She has no say on how long you should wait. And it doesn’t matter how she feels about you dating. It’s YOUR choice on how long you should wait based on how YOU feel. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/07/26 09:51 PM
How do you find shit to do?I know you said you want socialization. And I absolutely get that. But I found my most contentment when I realized I could have fun on my own. If I see a concert I want to go to, and can’t find someone to go with, I still go by myself. And I still have a blast. Bowling, cooking, learning guitar. All hobbies I’ve learned and enjoyed on my own, but can also enjoy with other people at times. | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/02/26 04:56 AM
When the divorce was done, what did you do ?Best advice I have is to find some hobbies. Bonus if they’re something you can happily do on your own. -I watched an episode of Sopranos each day. It was an inconsequential thing to look forward to each day. -I really got in to cooking Bowling more. Little art projects. Shooting hoops. Walking. Going to concerts. Hiking. Getting out there and doing stuff helped me heal. I think it helped me to do most these things on my own so I could learn how to be happy on my own. | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/02/26 04:30 AM
“Are we Dating the Same Guy?” Facebook GroupsIt was certainly meant to be a safety group. But that isn’t how some people are using it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/02/26 04:39 AM
How did you all divide your manly stuff? If she’s being… difficult, she can certainly try and get some of that stuff from you. But if you’re both willing to compromise, you should keep all your manly stuff. And she keep all her lady stuff. My ex and I had an understand of what stuff we each predominately used more and split it that way. And then negotiated on the stuff that we both use. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/02/26 04:32 AM
Wife wants to meet in personMy ex wife said/did things during our divorce. I found out later I could have squashed her if I could have showed this to a judge. But I can’t, cause she said/did these things to my face and I have no documentation of it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/01/26 04:31 PM
Wife wants to meet in personDo. Not. Do. It. Anything related to the divorce needs to be talked about via text or email. So you have documentation of it. And you can tell her that. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/01/26 04:30 PM
“Are we Dating the Same Guy?” Facebook GroupsI was posted on one of those, and three separate women I’ve never met in my life posted completely fabricated stories about the horrible things I did to them. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/01/26 04:46 AM
Fuck. 10 months in, no peaceBrother, find a hobby. Find stuff you can enjoy doing on your own. I like bowling, long walks, learned how to play guitar. Found some shows I liked binging on my own. Once I found how to I be happy on my own, I realized I didn’t need her to be happy. I only drink if I’m out with friends. And I don’t have a lot of friends, so I don’t drink often. She cheated on you cause she’s a horrible person. So fuck her. All she is, is a co-parent now. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/01/26 04:35 PM
divorceNGL brother, it is difficult. But you’ll get through it. I went though it in fall 2024, the hardest year of my life. 2025 was the best year of my life. My simple advice, if you don’t have a lot of friends or family. Invest in some hobbies. I started learning guitar. I go bowling by myself after work every Monday. I’ve gone on solo hikes. Gone to concerts and sporting events on my own. Learning how to be happy on my own might have been what cured my heartache the most. I learned I didn’t need tha… | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/01/26 05:09 AM
