Wtf??? On what grounds? I’ve been reading things on that sub for years. It really taught me so much about feminism and class and sexuality. Its how I found FDS. Such a brave, intelligent group of women who has just lost the tiny space they carved out for themselves because men don’t like it. Feeling a bit scared for the future of FDS now.

I relate a lot. My last relationship was awful, primarily because of his bad behaviour. I grew increasingly angry as the relationship went on, mostly because the hurt and sadness and exhaustion I was feeling were more debilitating that anger. Well, he starts talking about my anger issues. He could see it rattled me and so when ever we argued he brought it up. In hindsight it was an obvious way to shut down my complaints about his behaviour. And surprise surprise, once I left him I felt like a ne…

This sounds like a hard situation, I really feel for you. I think your concerns about being dragged into this are very valid. As another user pointed out, there is a very limited market for male nudes. I would be suspicious that this is him testing your boundaries around him producing porn. I suspect the level of pornographic material he is making is much more than nude photos and you will only find out once you are deeper into the relationship. For me, however this is all a bit of moot point. I…

Yes sorry - hopped- dyslexia and typing on a phone! Sadly they did not catch him. I felt awful when he told me what he was going to but he wouldn’t listen to my objection and wouldn’t even let me pay for his ticket! Versailles was beautiful - and it was much more enjoyable when I went alone a few years later!

Ohh this brought back some memories: In my very early twenties, I was dating a guy who seemed fine until we went on a trip to Paris together. In no particular order, here are his top 5 brokest moments from that trip: He pretended to be a student to get a discount into museums/tourist attractions. He was 27 and claimed to be a lawyer (i later learnt he worked at a law firm) He refused to pay for entry into the gardens of Versailles and hoped the fence while the guards were watching. I paid for my…

Great advice. What I wonder about is how women in long term relationships can use these strategies effectively. Shared homes/finances/children seem to make these strategies harder to implement in practice. AITA and relationship advice is littered with stories from women whose partners won’t do dishes/won’t take care of their children/won’t stop playing videos. I get the feeling no matter how disappointed their gf/wives are they wouldn’t change their behaviour.

I feel this post. My last ex, seemed to be constantly dissolving into floods of tears. But only when I called him out on his bad behaviour. You see he was so hurt that I could think badly of him - as if judging him for his behaviour was worse than the bad behaviour. Somehow his tears never amounted to an apology, or a change in how he treated me and I always ended up spending hours consoling him. Never again.

Also surprisingly common was how many men would come to the budget card shop where my friend worked to buy both wife and girlfriend cards. Completely shameless.

Really glad to hear it’s not just me experiencing this! I’ve done OLD a couple of times before, over the span of 5 years and was wondering if I was imagining how few men are initiating conversation this time round.

I have about 5 pictures. Mostly smiling headshots from different dinners/events and one full length ‘in action’ pic from a day event. They aren’t ‘sexy’, filtered or edited etc but maybe a bit sameish? I hint in my profile that I’m quite geeky and about my language skill. But there’s nothing personal or about what I’m looking for.

Hello, Been lurking here for a few weeks and have found it a pragmatic, positive place. This is my first post (anywhere on reddit actually as I’ve never used this site before) and I’m hoping for some advice! I’m 29, been single for over a year - by choice. My last relationship was a two year long relationship with a man who seemed perfect to start with but ended up manipulative, possessive and eroded my self confidence. (Same old story!) I took the past year to be alone and recover. I went trave…
