Tons of prosecutions followed from that, eventually resulting in the site being shut down. Trafficked doesn’t just mean locked in a basement, a lot of these women were non-citizens, drug addicts, or otherwise vulnerable people being leveraged into prostitution. The aggravators are defined by statute and can be additional crimes committed like rape, another murder, or aggravated kidnapping or it can be something about the victim, such as the victim being a minor under the age of six (the age might be different, I forget) or a law enforcement officer who was working at the time. There’s not a magic document you can file saying “this judge was partial please increase the defendant’s punishment.” As I mentioned previously, only a defendant can raise this issue post-conviction due to the long standing constitutional protection against double jeopardy. The defense won’t appeal the judgment, and the prosecution isn’t entitled to appeal a final verdict on the basis of partiality because it would violate double jeopardy. Even if it was possible, this is nowhere near evidence of partiality.
