Pop psychology is big business. How convenient to be able to label you a Narcacist making everything your fault. Let them play their victim games. If anyone studies something enough they will see it in everything without truly understanding it. Like when you start looking to buy a certain car suddenly you see that model more often. They will put you under a microscope and your every action will confirm their suspicions. Confirmation bias.

At a certain point, too much damage is done. Once contempt seeps in it's hard to recover. The fact that you are now getting in shape means you might be better off without. Your self-worth might have taken a blow from being devalued. All of the other stuff is like a sideshow. Unfortunately, it hurts.

I hear it's quite common.

How did it go? What was the strategy for letting her file? I don't see a difference in who files first except for the psychology involved.

Ok right... That's aweful. People suck. Maybe an indoor security cam running 24/7 then :)

Ok thanks. The abbreviation makes no sense to me. Is it a power dynamic thing. Who files first? If you file first are you more likely to be less destroyed by the experience?

"So, let’s say you sense a change in the air and an argument brewing. You already know you two are headed to rough waters, and the marriage may already be crumbling. You can start your cell phone video or audio, say loudly and clearly that you are recording, and let her know you want to record the conversation so you can both be sure of what was said. Ask her to say she agrees, or knows she’s being recorded."

High functioning Narcissist... Get away as fast as you can. If they truly are they will be out to destroy you.

Not like my mother who just disappeared taking everything including my dog, sister and grandfather then found out about the new relationship by seeing them holding hands back on the family sofa where she left from. Damaged for life. Have the conversation well in advance. Maybe several. Being blindsided is traumatic.

It's called social media and pop psychology. Pop psychology is a disease.

In California it's considered separate as long as it wasn't commingled. Even a home purchased with inheritance is separate. Once again if the other party paid for renovations etc. the waters can get murky.

Like 'my Facebook and tattle friends agree with me'. It's like a secret army ganging up on you. Screw those people who.might even be a fabrication. They are getting one very biased picture. Is that kinda like triangling but she's speaking on their behalf. It's all so fucked up. But why? Not all women are like that. It's really not normal. It must be how they handle rejection? Unless they are all full blown mad.

Totally. All very manipulative. It feels like they are about to convict you of something. Most likely a Narcissistic female. They turn the tables. Literally "The pot calling the kettle black". I'm.glad to hear this because it has been messing with my head. Especially being accused of financial manipulation. Extremely manipulative and a total redirect. I'm going to just say "you have a right to your opinion". There's literally no arguing it.

People use it to disarm and win arguments. Being accused of gaslighting makes you self-reflect. It's very disarming. Perhaps a maneuver a Narcissist might employ to bamboozle their supply. Especially if they are already questioning their reality which is likely.

Shaming language subtly inflicted over time is insidious.

People cope in different ways. Separation can trigger all sorts of stuff. I used to get depressed for a full year after a break up (not divorce).

Ultimately the Judge can decide. The year rule is there but it's up to the Judge. Even under 10 years. I'm in California and researched this.

What a journey! I'm facing going to the house after a few nights away. I really don't want to argue. How do you not get hooked in and argue?

I'm still grappling with it. I'm totally afraid of someone I implicitly trusted.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
