Because one woman said so, all women are like that? Quite the logical fallacy there, sir.

I actually meant security in the relationship: because a divorce is so complicated, if someone is willing to marry you, you know they really love you.

I agree, but many people do not. And marriage can also give a sense of security which can bring you even closer together.

That was oddly specific. Had a bad experience?

exactly, but the same can be said about those marriage questions which led to this question: people marry because they want to be together. It’s not a cold transaction. It’s love.

um, i have had feelings for multiple men who did not reciprocate those feelings, and they weren’t exceptionally ‘high value’ men as you put it. So in that case they controlled both the sex and the relationships. It goes both ways.

You forget that capitalists are not perfectly rational. They’re human. They have their prejudices and make mistakes.

Those posts are hardly credible sources. Just use google and you can find many official sources which support the fact that women couldn’t open bank accounts. Besides, it was just an example, so it doesn’t really matter for what i was trying to say.

For long term relationships women don’t care about your body. I’m a woman. Take it from me. Yes, being fit can be attractive, but it doesn’t weigh up against being funny, caring, passionate, having chemistry, having fun together etc. I’d rather have a partner who spends more quality time with me than one who spends his time at the gym because he’s obsessed with looking muscular.

I think there’s a very simple answer to this: every single person thinks they are a good person. Even the people who we view as the most horrible people in history thought they were good. And therefore everyone thinks they deserve someone amazing.

It is not so much about privilege, it is more about men and women being equals. Yes, historically more men have died in wars and today at work more men die. But, also historically, women have had much less freedom and autonomy then men. Today the inequalities are less pronounced then they used to be (like women not being allowed to open their own bank account), but they still exist. Women are less likely to be taken seriously or be seen as leaders, men are less likely to be viewed as full time p…

Hey, never had sex so by no means an expert on this, but i’ll share my thoughts anyways. I think because hyper sexuality is encouraged in men (which is a whole other problem), men are viewed as inferior when they don’t want to or can’t have sex. So that’s where the standard about getting a hard on comes from. And the standard of men having to make their partner wet and make her orgasm: I think that’s a quite recent development (in western culture at least), since after the sexual revolution wome…
