You’re not wrong to feel disturbed by this. A lot of it comes from outdated stereotypes about masculinity men are expected to be tough, unemotional, and always willing, so their discomfort gets minimized or turned into a joke. When harm doesn’t fit the expected victim image, people struggle to take it seriously. Normalizing this kind of behavior hurts everyone.
