And yeah, I started as a fan, and then one day he asked if anyone who followed him twitter could design a logo. At this point I've done a few for him for merch and stuff.

I have no interest in telling them how I feel because it will do no good. I'd rather leave them to their own devices and just do me. It's been going a lot better since I've been doing that anyway. Success will be the best revenge.

I still got a long way to go. Just doing my best to do my best, it's all I can do.

Yeah, I think some of that was stuff he was going through as a creator as well. I'm sure it's had a great impact, but he seems to be trying new things and trying to keep himself to a fairly regular schedule compared to right after the Adpocalypse.

I do tutoring, but first and foremost the guy I turn everyone to is Andrew Loomis, and lucky for you all of his work has lapsed copyright and there has been a campaign over a decade to preserve his work digitally so that his techniques can continue to teach people. Also, SHAPE. People want to focus on line and rendering and all the gloss, study shape. There's a great example of the silhouettes of famous cartoon characters and how they're wholly defined and recognizable by shape alone. And even i…

Probably somewhere in the middle, but I inked most of it from a very rough drawing (especially the Lovecraftian horror stuff as I don't have to think to do that) and then just noodled the shading so maybe closer to 24-36.

Thanks. For a long time it was rough, you spend a decade toiling in obscurity and people think you're wasting your time because "You can't make money with art," but things are starting to turn around and as much as it can be a struggle it's satisfying on the days when hundreds of dollars in payments come in all from the thing everyone told you to stop doing. Don't listen. Keep doing. Find as many ways to monetize it as possible. Learn as many skills as you can that are tertiary to your interests…

It's not all bad. My isolation as a young boy due to my mother's "overprotectiveness" (i.e. not being allowed to leave the yard as a kid, and then as I got older, not being allowed to go further than a block from the house, all out of the fake fear that my dad would "do something") and my sister hanging out with the rough crowd (the kids who bullied me, which she would play a part in or at least antagonize) led me to stay in my room a lot and draw. I got obsessed with it because it was the only …

I'm 36 now and have been the black sheep in my family for my entire life. Even though my sister has been smoking crack to the point where my mother has to raise 2 of her boys, she's still more welcome there than I am. So recently I just decided I was tired of being not enough for them no matter how much I try to better myself, and cutting them out has allowed me to process the issues I have because I can see it more clearly. I'm starting to get more stable in my self-employed business and I'm wa…

Oh, years of this. I just recently cut my mother and sister completely out of my life because they're both narcissists and I look exactly like my father, so you can imagine how being raised by a narcissistic single mother was given that I was a constant reminder of her mistake.

I actually am self-employed as an artist. It's a struggle financially, but you can't buy not having a boss, much less a female one. Had that before, and she was the owner's little spoiled princess to boot, so every time she'd ask you to do something it'd be in that cutesy, upturned valley girl voice. Apparently she dropped out of getting her psychology degree because it was easier to live for free in one of daddy's properties and manage his pocket greenhouse empire. Also self-taught, as much as …
