And I date in large part to get out and see and do new things too. So a walk date in the same park we both live near is fundamentally incompatible with what I'm interested in. Dating is supposed to be fun, last time I checked.

Yessss, exactly! The type of person I'm thinking of acts like it's all fun and games, but they will flip the script on you fast as hell and you'll be left looking like the fool. Personally I don't think there is a way to win with these people, and treat them with extreme icy politeness, because anything else is giving them ammo. Better to be considered frigid and uptight than have the rug pulled out from under you imo.

Not completely identical, but I've also known a type of man who takes great glee in playing the role of some jovial fun loving guy who enjoys skirting what seem to be small rules, like "Oh, no one will mind if we don't follow the exact procedure here, as long as we cover our bases" This person is a scorpion, and they will turn on you. More importantly, they will turn on you in the most law-abiding way to seem as though they're in the right. They'll go to HR, they'll cite regulations from a manua…

That's what I was thinking as well, it came up organically enough that it made sense. And we live in Scandinavia, where there's pretty active discussion about this kind of thing, since prostitution is legal but buying sex is not. But I'm also fully wary about men trying to seem all enlightened while still being terrible in their actual lives 😬 Some of the early phase green flags were - we first started talking in June via OLD, but I was busy the whole summer with grad school stuff, and he was ve…

I just had a date where nearly this exact thing happened. We were talking about travel and he brought up how much he loved Amsterdam as a city, but with a side tangent about the red light district, and how no one can truly consent to prostitution. And of course I'm glad to hear it and fully agree, but it was juuuust out of left field enough where I was second guessing if he was bringing it up so I would be impressed. There were enough green flags on pretty major things that I'm going to see him …

Apparently android, as per OP up thread, but with no further information. As nice as it is to know it exists, I really wish op would answer or at least give hints to what the setting is called

It might be some app I've never seen, but that's definitely not the iPhone default messaging app, and I've never seen it in iOS either... OP must be using something else? I had no clue you could even do this

Why would it break you out? I mean to be clear, I disagree with her. But cleanser and moisturizer are the bare minimum, and you can get moisturizing toners and masks. 2 weeks is pretty reasonable for exfoliating, especially if you're using a milder chemical exfoliater. I have dry sensitive skin and that routine seems pretty standard, as long as I'm using products geared for my skin type. Again, I think it's silly to have requirements THAT prescriptive for something as personal as skincare. But I…

I recently wrote about this elsewhere on the sub, but my core group of friends hasn't been so important in establishing my standards for all kinds of relationships. They're all incredibly intelligent, driven, and compassionate. We all prioritize each other, and the lines of communication are open and clear. Never would one of us go over to someone's house without asking what they need, even if it's the most casual lazy hangout. We don't necessarily spend money on each other, but the friendship i…

I'm lucky to be in a place in my life where my friends are all mature, supportive, smart, reasonable, etc etc. And it's taught me that I simply will not accept less in the future. When we have disagreements we discuss them openly, and everyone is considerate of everyone else. And that's the standard I'm adopting in all of my relationships, parental, platonic, romantic. It's not that hard to be decent and respectful. Anyone who won't do that is showing you that they don't give a shit about your w…

What they think about libertarianism, and what hole they think girls pee out of 😬 obviously not phrased so bluntly as that but in this house we require critical thinking skills and a basic understanding of the female anatomy. The bar is in hell

This is the most hilarious part to me. Most men bitch about women as is. What on earth makes them think they would be on the benefitting side in this scenario?

Unironically this 😬 I'm getting "meaner" aka not making excuses for terrible behavior and it's finally making shitty people stay away from me. How horrible that being nice means getting steamrolled.

What really kills me is when I see ideas that are heavily discussed on here like bang maid, and future faking in other places on reddit, and they're upvoted in the thousands. But somehow it being discussed on here is the height of toxicity 🙄 People don't realize HOW much of the conversation they would agree with, if they weren't so quick to jump to conclusions

Oh my God, she puts a crown on top of her crown 😭😭😭 Also holy fuck, imagine complaining a girl is turned on by you??? I swear to God, I'm going to start asking men about the female anatomy as a way to filter them out. I can't get over that. Am I misunderstanding the tiktok she's replying to?

A few weeks ago I did a mini grooming session of eyebrows, eyelash lift, nails and haircut. Nothing fancy at all, I had just let things go a little due to stress and wanted to take care of it. It took about $300 and multiple hours just to get up to what I would consider baseline grooming. It's crazyyyyy how much it all adds up, and the sheer amount of time you spend sitting in a chair at the salon

Literally everyone hated her in The Shining when it first came out. It's only recently she's gained the respect she deserved for her incredible performance. I honestly have a huge amount of bitterness for how she was treated around that movie. They were so fucking cruel to her, and didn't even have her back after they systematically destroyed her to get that performance 🖕

And then she was nominated for a Razzie for her performance. Imagine. You've basically been mentally fucking tortured for months and months, and at the end of it all you're mocked even further. She's been vindicated now, but Stanley Kubrick can eat shit and choke for how he treated Shelley Duvall.

Oh wow, extremely guilty of #1 😕 I've regularly had first dates that went 6+ hours, and just dinner and drinks, not at all ending in hookups. I thought that was a good sign that we had chemistry, and my therapist was even like wow, how great! I even used to think I was only good at first dates because the second ones never went as well, but this is giving me huge food for thought... That's a painful realization, yikes.

This has become my new bare minimum: I'm never again going to be in a romantic relationship with someone less considerate than my platonic friends. No matter how small or casual the get together, we always ask if anyone needs anything on the way over, can I help with anything, blah blah blah literally doing the least. WHY would anything less even be an option? We all have jobs and pay our own bills. There's no excuse. It's not that hard to be decent.

Is this one of the subs where one of the head mods is male? It's honestly so pathetic. That kind of stuff taught me to side eye the FUCK out of male ~allies~

I'm going to pass out. Lower in the original thread she says her dog had recently had lungworm This story is completely terrifying. It would have taken so much planning to think of this.

I'm occasionally pleasantly surprised when I see something that I think is posted here, but is instead in trollx, and have also seen some pretty non pickme things in there. One time in particular stands out, where someone almost definitely posing as a woman tried to be all "sex positive! It's freeing!" And they were promptly called out and the top comments were all like absolutely tf not, casual sex did nothing but make me miserable. But it's definitely NOT the exact same ideologies and has plen…

10000% agree. Public transit is a huge equalizer. I'm lucky to live in a place rn where almost no one drives for basic daily things, and all the things you've described are exactly right. The idea of needing someone to drive you to the doctor or to school simply does not exist here, and that is particularly crucial for young women. I can't help but find this post a bit fear mongering, or at least a but logically unfounded. An increase in transit infrastructure will not inherently lead to an incr…

Everything described here is so sweet, but it's the thoughtfulness of the petsitting that really pushes it over for me 🥰. Trips are lovely, but the consideration of finding someone you trust, and not just pushing it off to a pet hotel or wherever feels so genuine (professional pet care is great! Just think it's a good sign he's got a close group of friends as well)

Holy shit this is so true and so depressing. Or they're clout goblins who want to be associated with her for her notoriety. Either way, the fact that she thinks who you're fucking is the most important thing about you is so bleak. And she doesn't even seem to realize she's doing it.

I'm so relieved. I'm able to have much more honest conversations with my very intelligent women friends about porn and misogyny. Not that long ago I would been seen as extremely regressive, but now they finally understand and agree how I can support women and be anti porn. It finally started to stick with them that kink is not actually freeing.

I never did, but I always loved the stories that reframed the "monster"! I watched Lovecraft country (not especially FDS) and all I could think about is how much I wanted a pet shoggoth 😅

At one point my best sexual experiences were with a guy who made me orgasm every other time during foreplay and didn't bitch about condoms??? The bar is truly deeply madly in hell.

Big time. It's not about the 50/50. It's about putting all the blame and pressure on the woman. She doesn't say "if he treats you like a queen, you should treat him like a king." Instead it's "don't expect to be treated like a queen if you don't treat him like a king first" and we all know how often that actually gets reciprocated 🙄

Ask them what they think about the US Women's soccer team wanting equal pay. I've seen so many so-called male feminists lose their shit over that one
