Painting a partial picture with data that historically suffers from very significant non-response bias is enough of a counter in my opinion. From my own experiences in STEM research across multiple disciplines, painting partial pictures supported by data riddled by non-response bias is enough to get you laughed out of the room. My point was there are other figures regarding sexual violence and rape that are dramatically higher so it seemed odd to me to focus on a RELATIVELY smaller figure. e.g. Of male student sexual harassment victims ( 37% of all victims in the first source ), a third of the harassers were female and another third were male. I'm a firm believer that there are positives and negatives to every scenario but I, too, lose a little "faith" when someone insists on labeling me with ignorant negativity that matches their stance & arguments.
