That silver lining is everything. Power to you for coming to that realization about your brother and deciding to grey-rock and draw boundaries. The fact that nobody ever defends you speaks miles. Why not eventually extend boundaries to the entire family? Not necessarily advocating for no contact, it could be within the range you feel that each individual deserves. I agree with your conclusion that your father is probably also problematic given that he allows your brother to berate his mother and…

About Shayne albeit not about his suspected narcissism: Did anyone else freak out when Shayne held Natalie’s neck in a chokehold as he was kissing her? Just lightly strangled her neck as if out of habit. He must have realized it looked bad on tv because his hold slipped suddenly and made its way to the back of her neck.

Two mega scrotes flaunting their scrotery….may be a good thing since women can now find this (and any other scrotes pitching in with their wisdom) online and run if they have the misfortune of meeting them in real life.

Shame on him for projecting his issues on you. A woman could be both (beautiful and smart), either, or neither, and in all cases she still deserves to be treated according to her fundamental rights as a human being. There was no need for him to try and “protect you.” Not that it matters, but given the relentless sexualization and predation on women I’d rather not even be seen as pretty and instead be virtually unnoticeable by the majority of the male population. I loathe the fact that society, a…

Congratulations OP!! That sounds like a beautiful proposal full of lovely gestures. The love letters sound like a very heartfelt touch, especially since they were so thoughtful and personal. Your kind closing words to the community were really touching, and I wish the same to you as well: May you continue to be surrounded by people who enrich your life, and may you always be treated with love, respect, and kindness. A wish for your engagement: May you two live happily, and may your fiancé always…

Sometimes in temporary times of weakness and perceived scarcity we wind up settling for LVM and accept all kinds of excuses from them when we’d never entertain the thought of dating them at any other point in time. What I’d really like to see is a post on how to counteract this scarcity mindset and how to boost one’s chances of encountering HVM in everyday life since OLD is a hit-or-miss.

So money, comfort, common sense, unsatisfied dates, and a purportedly successful career didn’t suggest to him that a bed frame may be a good idea, but missing out on sex was the ultimate motivation. Checklist: have a bed frame? The bar isn’t in hell, it’s lost in the abyss😂

Seconding the reminder and piggybacking to say that if your man has deviated from HVM values, as difficult as it is to accept, he’s not going to transform back. It wasn’t a one-time occasion, things will not get better, and you need to cut your losses. Learning to move along quickly is conducive to protecting your mental health and energy.

Yes yes yes! Maintain your standards Queen. An HVM will respect your boundaries and will accept the pace you are comfortable with. Your time and energy are valuable and you’re right, you should be deliberate with who gets access to it. Also, your decision is going to be free of the initial enthusiasm and flirting that can cloud our judgements, and more strongly based on observations and gut instincts you had about him during the outing. Taking things slow is always to our advantage. Be careful t…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
